#BEDM: Introduce yourself

Hey there!

I decided to try and join in with 'Blog every day in May'. Elizabeth at Rosalilium set this fun idea up. I did her Blog everyday in November a few years ago and that was what really got me into pretty much daily blogging. I never have any shortage of things to post about but still, it's nice to do these things!

If I hadn't completely forgotten I was going to do this (thanks Lizzie, you reminded me!) I might even have done the whole embarrassing vlog but you know, I have horrid looking hair today and it's dark now.

Sooooo.... the majority of people here know who I am. It may be no one new comes and says hi, that's ok, you lovely regular friends will just have to watch the reruns of the me me me show (and it's a double episode)!

So, here I go.

My name is Kezzie, I'm from Essex and I am heading nervously towards my mid 30's, generally meandering in a chaotic fashion.

I have been blogging 10 years and began when I was a PA and had my evenings to myself.Oh those halycon days of not having to do marking, planning or any of the general tasks you have to do in your evenings as a teacher. Oh yes, I should have said that. I am indeed a teacher, teaching primary in a nice standard primary school in Essex. Yes, I am afraid we talk about teaching alot though fear not, that doesn't always feature here! 

I teach mostly music and I am very happy about this, even though my ears take a bit of an asssault on a daily basis. I will probably go deaf from exposure when I am older which fills me with dread.

Despite music being my first love, I have always enjoyed a variety of interests through my life. Nowadays, the non-school tasks which I enjoy include: much reading, making cards, swing dancing, playing in a chamber orchestra, composing music, singing, acting very occasionally, writing oh and blogging. Other interests come along at times.

I studied music in London and I have about 4 sets of letters after my name (aiming for a fifth at some point soon- thinking of doing my LRSM flute playing diploma). Most people don't care about this but in my tender years where many of your interests and aims built, my dancing teacher had about 7 sets of letters after her name and I used to sit poring over the show programme and thinking I'd like that to be. My husband (oh yes, I have one of those) laughs at how I lead my things in my childhood and teenage years. I don't being 'like a child' at times.

Oh, I suppose I better tell you about him. He's lovely and also a musician and teacher. We got married about a year and a half ago and we met whilst playing music in a Norman church. He's from Northumberland

The old travelling question. I LIKE travelling but I am not an ardent 'Must go somewhere new' creature. As a musician, I have lots of friends in different places so I enjoy visiting friends around the UK. I've travelled in Europe a fair few times. my favourite country is Germany or Austria perhaps, because I can actually speak the language. I HATE not being able to speak when I go somewhere so I will always learn SOME language. Oh, and I speak Indonesian fairly well too. That is because I lived in the lovely island of Bali for a year. I had a scholarship to study Gamelan, the percussion ensemble of Indonesia. Bali is the only place outside Europe I have ever visited. It was fun but I missed cold weather! (I shock myself saying that!) 

I am not an overly ambitious individual in a professional sense because I have no desire to be a leader of others, I am definitely a sheep and would never want to be a deputy head or head teacher BUT I do like to be good at things and it makes me cross when I am not! That said, I lead music in my school but I am the one teaching it, so there's not many actual adults to lead. I loved teaching Literacy, French and Dance the best when I was a general teacher.

Blogging-wise, I really care about the friends I have made through blogging and I try, try, try to be a loyal reader if I can (comment setting dependant), nothing can feel ruder than constantly leaving someone comments and they never reciprocate. I love blogging and I see no reason I would ever give up, I enjoy actually forming words far too much 
However, I am not ambitious in terms of wanting to do any of that promotional, pro-blogging part. I like reading the success of my friends who do it but I can't see myself in that capacity. I don't do any other social media, a) because I can't be bothered and b) I spend far too much time blogging and if I did anything else, that would suffer and I have work to do and instruments to practice etc.
