April Scavenger hunt

Hello!  I adore this photo scavenger hunt! It's so much fun!!! I've been a little greedy with one or two entries as I have put two or three photos!  I tried to find better contenders for each one and then couldn't decide which to choose!  I suppose that there's no rule to say you may only have one!  I was like that at school!  I always did double the amount of work and extra self-set projects just because I wanted to!
Anyway, thanks to Kathy for organising this!

Rock
 of ages...

 OR
Rock...

of Haltwhistle!

Amazeing! (rubbish picture but just wanted to make a bad pun!) I do think mazes are amazing though! (Maze at Hever Castle, taken whilst running hysterically to beat CBC to the centre!  I won!)
Spring (it was with a small s but I took it to mean the big S.  Spring to me means Daffodils in abundance
(Also at Hever!)
 and new born sheep

Can't live without...
 Water, obviously!

Direction
It led us to Haltwhistle in a hailstorm!   Hailstones HURT, especially on a country road!

Tangle
Bloomin heck that tree at Featherstone castle needed a hairbrush!
in/out
 money from the ATM obviously...
and in the Metro centre, Newcastle.

Oh here's my other Spring shot!
 Smile
Seriously this Pansy is smiling and winking!!!  It was the only one.  All the others looked like grumpy stereotypical Frenchmen!

On the move
The Batmobile has landed in Finchingfield, Essex

CBC will kill me for this but I was highly amused by the fact he and his friend turned up yesterday wearing the same trousers!! Here they are on the move!  (Weird looks received from Liverpool Street pedestrians as I appeared to ogle men's bottoms with my camera!)

Multicoloured:
Oh I had SUCH fun with this one.  I would have happily spent the month searching for multicoloured pictures!

I spent the entire month searching for oil-slicked puddles

and finally I found this one on Sunday!
Mosaic at Tottenham Court Tube, Central Line, c. 1984

Concert seats at the Barbican Centre, London.

More mosaic tiles at Liverpool street station!  These are sadly located in a totally dingy location in the station with no light to shine on them and reveal their glorious splendour!
sticky

Cakes and tarts at the delicious Princi Italian bakery in Soho! MUCH recommended!

Indulgence
Cheese fondue at Androuet, Spitalfields.
That was a BIG pot!

Go and check out the other photos at Kathy's Postcards from the PP.

Owls galore!

CBC received a lovely Christmas present of a 2hour owl experience at Rutland Owl and falconry sanctuary.  We travelled there today for him to have that.  I was in a foul mood all the way there (not helped by road closure meaning we were 2 hours late) but when we got there, the beauty of the place, the glory and tranquility of the birds renewed me.  It was a wonderful experience- truly magical, made more so by the snow. Here are some gratuitous owl shots for you to enjoy!
Happy Monday! xxx

Let them eat hats 27- You can keep your hat on!

As it is cold and drizzly, I find myself longing for those halcyon days of sunshine we experienced...

I found this little hat in Tescos in the sale recently a mere 100pennies did it cost! I wore it the weekend of the heatwave when we went up to London. We had a lovely time. CBC had to visit the IoE and whilst he did that, I splashed around in the fountains with all the 2 year olds in Bedford Square gardens (whilst reading a book). We then walked up through Tottenham Court road, Soho stopping in a Vietnamese canteen for tofu noodle soup and green tea (£4 for LOADS!). Then we went off to the Degas exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts. It was wonderful. All his ballet paintings, sketches and sculptures with interesting early moving pictures. My favourite pieces from the Musee D'Orsay in Paris were there- ballerinas in turquoise tutus. I love thinking about what the ballerinas are thinking about and all the different outlooks in the paintings. After cake and tea, we went into Fortnum and Masons opposite to have a look. Seriously expensive but I did manage to find a birthday present.Outside the Royal Academy. Well worth a visit.

Contemplating tea in Fortnum and Masons! Oh and on the way home, we popped into Westfields, Stratford, the highlight of which for me, was the Lego store where I played in the kiddies lego playzone in the centre whilst CBC looked properly with all the other adults. There's a curious symmetry about the day!

I have decided that I prefer a good highstreet with fresh air in between as opposed to gargantuaan shopping centres. What's your opinion?

Do you fancy a new hat? Then visit my GIVEAWAY for the chance to win a lovely ASOS 70'st style black, felt floppy hat! It closes in less than 20 days.
