5 brooches #29

Hello there!
Interrupting long German-holiday reminiscences transmissions with some frivolous broochery.

This tin Peacock butterfly pin is a delight to wear as it is so light, thus it doesn't drag on a top. It was from Re in Corbridge.  The little cloud pin, I'm not sure! Oh that's my Ladybird likes Typewriter key necklace up the top too!
Happy Erstwilder owl pin. I really loved this brooch for ages so when I saw it at the start of May, I used some late birthday money from my dad for it. He liked his 50 shades of Aqua background.

This rosewood recorder brooch is one of my oldest and one of my favourite brooches. I've had it since I was about 11 and it is an actual working recorder made by a proper recorder maker. You can just about play Merrily we roll along on it, it being so small! My Mum bought one for my sister and recorder teacher too. My recorder teacher still wears hers now!
This little acrylic dog pin went well with my dress!

And here, I wore the little Book owl again!!

Have you worn any brooches recently? Any favourites here?

5 brooches #30

Hello there,
Hope all is well with you.
It's been a good day all in all but I am weary!!! I went for a run yesterday with a friend and my legs are reaaaaaaaaaaally aching now- so painful! It was good to do some exercise other than my daily 2.4 miles walk or the occasional swim.  Hope we can keep it up- at least once a week!

Onto the broochology...
This Polar bear was from Tatty Devine. I received an ASOS voucher for my birthday and I bought this with it! Thanks to Madame Penguin for this!
I've had this cute little badge since before Christmas. It came as a freebie with my Ladybird likes box!
I couldn't resist wearing this with my Shrimp earrings and the pink flamingo outfit. Bought these from the Church Big day out a few years ago.
Sass and Belle bluetit was perfect for this Dotty Perkins dress- so glad I can wear this for school now as I couldn't with my previous Headteacher as she also had it!
Love my Dorothy brooch. I last wore this BEFORE the inauguration of 5 brooches I think! Worn with my Clara Flatline shirt!
Last but not least, Mr Pinchy, my Erstwilder lobster brooch- love him!

Have you seen or worn any nice brooches this week?

5 brooches #17

Hello there,

Here's the next instalment of brooches I've worn.  I sometimes think that this post should double up as 'some collars too' as I seem to combine them with shirt collars quite often!

This Blue tit brooch is from Cath Kidston, he's beem kicking around for a fair few years- he was in a set- I gave 2 as gifts and kept the latter two.  Seemed to match the pattern and colours of this Closet dress.
This Dalek button pin came free with Doctor Who adventures comic a long time ago! Was aiming for Osgood chic here with my ? lapels embroidered by Ang. I wore this for TARDIS Tuesday last summer.
Not the best photo but I wanted to combine my Lady Bird Likes collar clips in the photo with my double bird cardie!
Mmmmmm, fried egg....
CBC bought me a handmade blue corduroy handbag about 5 years ago that had this delightful button brooch on it- I decided to transfer it from bag to hat!  Stopped a boring outfit from being too boring!

Any favourites? Have you been sporting any brooches?  Do share!

#5 brooches 15

Hi there! There are mostly new brooches in this batch as well as a familiar one or two!
Brooch numero uno is this copper-glitter bear!  I find him utterly adorable! It looks like he is looking up lovingly at me! This Whitestuff short-sleeved cardie is the perfect display cabinet for brooches I've discovered! It has HAUGE lapels!  I've had it about 6 years but I don't wear it very often as it is handwash only and I know it will fester at the bottom of the laundry basket for years! But since washing machines now have handwash settings, really I have no excuse except my fear of wrecking it! The necklace was a Christmas pressie from my sister-in-law and is from Ladybird likes!
Foxy makes his reappearance for the 3rd time in the 5 brooches series! I like his serious yet twinkling eyes! Thought I'd show you the collar in its entirety avec double chinnage for free!
That's him close up. On the same grey cardie.

Collar clips! The shirt I am wearing has been my most worn charity shop purchase of 2015- £1 bought with Hazel and Sophie it is comfy, requires no ironing and is boring enough for collar clips every time!
I've shared 3 pictures of these dinosaur collar clips as they were really hard to photograph. As you can see, this shirt DOES require ironing which I attempted to hide under my charity-shopped tank top but the lack of ironing was sadly evident.
Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawr! Stegosaurus!
Snap, snap, bite, RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWRRRRR! T-rex!

Lastly, this 'Save the Bees' ceramic brooch went with my December-charity-shopped mustard polo neck jumper. To my mortification, on wearing this with black trousers, my friend and colleague told me I looked like I was in Star Trek!  Now I love being told I look like I am dressed up as something but I would have liked to have been doing it deliberately. Hmmmm,Star Trek brooch....

Any favourites? I've seen some lovely ones around but I can't remember whose posts as I was on a train!!
