TARDIS Tuesday - Yasmin Khan in Flux!

For TARDIS Tuesday this week, I thought I'd pay a return visit to Yasmin Khan from Series 13, known as Flux!

Let's have a look at the inspiration pictures.

https://www.bbcamerica.com/

https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/television-academy-board-directors-nne-ebong-jamily-hunter-1235090265/

I managed to make some screen shots where Yaz wore her outfit WITHOUT the leather jacket  from some Doctor Who challenge videos for Behind the Scenes.

Her blouse AND jeans come from All Saints (I IDed the jeans) and her necklaces, not really visible are from Alex Monroe. Her boots are Leonore boots from Dr Martens.

The blouse is the most striking part of this outfit!

And here's my 2026 iteration of this outfit. It's the 3rd time it has featured on TARDIS Tuesday.

I since I last wore it, I managed to identify and purchase the jeans which are called Jules from All Saints, a very posh brand. Despite them being a skinny jeans, I actually found them quite comfortable, presumably because of the good quality stretchy denim cotton.

The blouse, also from All Saints which has the name Caressa (Almost my name!) is very pretty and so vibrant for a dull January day!

I wore another pair of Yaz's  boots, from Dune, rather than the Dr Martens and added my usual Clara Oswald brown leather jacket which is cracking a little bit now on the collar which is the danger of fake leather! It's happening to both my 'leather' jackets!

Today was a good day at school.  I had 3 productive lessons with year 4 and one Year 3 lesson that seemed to go well for the kids (they enjoyed it and did what they were supposed to!). Drumming club was also enjoyable. I had one new member today which makes the total up to 12 children. It's not the usual 16 I'd have, but it's better than the start of the year!

CBC and I had some delicious Kashmiri sweet potato curry from Leon Lewis, brilliant Veggie chef who I visited on Saturday to purchase some of his meals.  We also dined on a delicious red cabbage, cranberry, pecan and pickled salad by him and some filo veggie parcels- Delicious!!!

Hope all is well with you!

#TARDISTuesday Yaz Khan

Hi there!

I wore this TARDIS Tuesday outfit for school today and I was determined to ACTUALLY photograph it! Managed to get CBC to take a picture for me too so no faffing with the tripod!

I cannot believe that I haven't featured this outfit since May 2023 for this week's TARDIS Tuesday.  Utterly perplexed!

This will be the 3rd time I have featured a version of this outfit for TT!

Let's look at the original!

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/uk-news/jodie-whittaker-faces-final-doctor-25333198

Worn by Yaz Khan in The Power of the Daleks, it is classic Yaz.

It featured a Dessa Balfern jacket by All Saints, and a burgundy and black snakeskin-print blouse, also from All Saints.  Some unidentified boots which may be from Doc Martens and some black jeans.

I like this outfit because it's made out of cotton materials, not leather or synthetic!

Last time I featured this outfit, I was wearing the screen accurate jacket but NOT one owned by me.  I was the recipient of this jacket for my Russian friend Anna who lives in Argentina.  I sent it onto her but she let me take some photos in it.  I liked the jacket but never planned to buy it as the RRP was ££££ (over £100, possibly £200!!).  However, a year or so back, I saw it for sale for £5 on Vinted! £5!?!?!?!  I couldn't resist it at that price and I am glad I went for it! Such a jolly Autumnal colour.

I wore my ASOS black trousers as usual. I do actually have a pair of SA Yaz Khan All Saints jeans (not these ones!) which were a bargain at £5 too but I can't wear jeans for school!

I am not the biggest fan of animal print but the snake skin print on this shirt, also from All Saints is really pretty in the colours it features in! It was also very cheap! I like the fact it's actually cotton and has nice balloon sleeves and elasticated cuffs!

I'm not sure if she is wearing any necklaces but I decided to wear my K necklace!

For warmth, I added in this mustard cardigan from White Stuff (a present from my Father in Law and Mother in Law a long time ago when FiL was still alive). I know it was cold today because I kept this cardie on all day even when I was playing 'In and out the dusty blue bells' with Year 1 children in the music room!

A final touch is my hair in plaits! I found this amazing blog which is dedicated to analysing ALL of Yaz Khan's outfits, shoes, jewellery AND hairstyles and they show that this hairstyle is actually 2 strand twisted braids so I might try that another time! You can find it here

I enjoyed this outfit and it's nice to return to Yaz's outfits again!

TARDIS Tuesday- Yasmin Khan from the Flux promo and Eve of the Daleka

For TARDIS Tuesday this week, I taking a look at a simple work look that Yasmin Khan wears in the episode, Eve of the Daleks and from the series 13 promo materials.  I last featured it in 2021 and I read the post as I was looking for the link. It was at the time when I was still without my music room and I'd had a difficult day in terms of that. I am so unbelievably glad to have my own room back and I think it's important to remember when things were so much harder and that things can and do get better at different times in life!

Anyway, today, I felt like I was happy to return to this outfit.  Shall we take a look at it?

https://thedoctorwhocompanion.com/2021/12/29/mandip-gill-eve-of-the-daleks-is-the-funniest-episode-weve-done/

It consists of a dark shirt with red/orange splotches- there's a question as whether it is an Oasis shirt or a Topshop one.
She wears one of her idiosyncratic All saints Leather jackets- black or brown it seems
black high-waisted trousers, black high biker boots (Dr Martens we think) and then a brown belt plus her Alex Monroe Posy loop necklace.

Here I am:

I am going to state that I am wearing all the same as last time but I chose different boots.

My charity-shopped £3 fake leather jacket is starting to fall apart which is a shame but it still does its job.

I wore my Clarks brogue boots this time as I think they are more like Yaz's ones.

I did actually downsize on this shirt. I found this one, same as my old one, in my local charity shop and it was 2 sizes smaller which worked better for me. I love the big sleeves on it.
Wearing my same ASOS trousers and my Mum's brown belt.  Sadly, you can't really see my beautiful necklace so well.
Hope all is well with you!

TARDIS Tuesday - Spots for Rosa

I'm clearly having a Yasmin Khan month for TARDIS Tuesday as my past 3 TT outfits are hers. My main justification- she wears jumpers and trousers and the weather is GLACIAL!

Here's the main outfit worn by Yaz in brilliant story about Rosa Parks.  I last featured it in January 2022, so it's 3 years since it featured it which is quite a long time! This is the first Yaz Khan SA item I ever IDed- as I knew it looked like a White Stuff piece! I like the slightly quirky Spotty design!

Image borrowed from Express.co.uk

Here is my 2025 iteration...Can you spot the difference between 2022 and 2025???

2025:

2022:

The differences are my shoes and trousers!  No particular reason but they are different!  I wore my Seasalt black trousers and my Clarks Funny Dream trousers.

Hope all is well with you.

TARDIS Thursday- Village of the Angels Yaz

Hi there,

Greetings from Lurgy-ville! I started to feel a bit unwell on Sunday night and now I have a fully blown cold.  Yesterday, I took 18 children from my Year 4 recorder club to perform in our local borough's annual recorder festival.  It was the first one since 2019 and is a festival I have been taking part in since about 1988! We had a lovely time (although had to wait 30mins for the last parent to collect their child!)   It was sad that only 3 schools (plus the music school) accepted the invitation to take part.  In past years, there have been dozens of schools. I wondered why? Is the recorder not being taught so much (wretched Ukelele)? Was it too last minute? I do hope that it will develop again more next year.

My children were really proud of themselves and really excited but nervous to do their first performance with other schools.  When I look at the children I took (one last minute was not able to come), I laugh at some of the children I have who used to be really difficult in Year 1 and who are now proudly playing the recorder and turning up to a lunchtime club voluntarily on a weekly basis! I am so glad to offer them this opportunity! The audience was very warm and receptive and appreciative and the parents were really excited to see their children perform.

For TARDIS Tuesday today, I am featuring Yasmin Khan again- 13th Doctor companion.

It comes from Series 13 episode, Village of the Angels.  This was a creepy but brilliant episode with tension in bags!

She wears a navy silky floral shirt from All Saints (The Adeliza Spirit shirt) plus a brown fur coat from Zara (and NOT her usual leather jacket!) plus black buttoned down jeans, tan belt and Dr Martens Leonore chelsea boots. She wears a bright red top underneath and her  Y and Z initial necklaces.

https://tellyvisions.org/article/doctor-who-flux-episode-4-recap-village-angels

Here's my version:

Not sure what is going on with my camera but it was very washed out!

With the exception of my All Saints blouse (which has a lovely jacquard fabric with nice big loose sleeves), the rest of the outfit is all other items I own anyway (the usual ASOS trousers, brown boots plus my G Star Deline coat from another Yaz outfit. I forgot to don my tan belt!

This was a good school outfit on a Spring day.

I hope all is well with you!

TARDIS Tuesday- Yaz Khan Flux

Hey there!

Hope you are well!

As you read this, I shall be back at school (Boo hoo!). I am grateful that we have an extra day off, returning on Tuesday rather than Monday although woe to the poor classes who keep missing Mondays! I teach two year 1 classes, one year 3 & one year 4 but since I have three of each class to teach in a week you can imagine how it wreaks havoc with my scheduling and delivery of plans to those year groups. At least it wasn't as bad as last year with NINE Mondays missed for various reasons!

https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/television-academy-board-directors-nne-ebong-jamily-hunter-1235090265/

Anyway, onto our outfit inspiration!  This outfit was worn by Yaz Khan for the opening episodes of Flux, series 13 of Doctor Who.  I actually can't believe I wore this in November 2021, that's so long ago!

https://twitter.com/bbcdoctorwho/status/1454058707160113158

Since I wore this outfit last, the shirt was identified as the Bernie shirt from All Saints. I found one brand new with tags for about a 10th of the original price but I haven't worn it for photos yet.
She also wears her All Saints jacket, some button up black trousers (not been IDed but I did see an All Saints pair of trousers which had similar buttons...), Dr Marten Leonore boots, Alex Monroe Y&Z necklaces for Yaz plus a brown buckled belt.

Here's my 2024 rendition!
I featured the All Saints shirt.  It is so beautiful and soft to wear and lovely and wafty.
The colour is super intense in real life!
I wore my charity shopped £3 fake leather jacket.
The trousers I am wearing this time are much better than last time as they are more fitted.  They're ASOS charity shopped.

Mum's brown belt is back to play and I wore my Dune Pacey black boots to go with the outfit.

I wore my KZ floral necklaces from Avon (via eBay).  I don't know why I enjoy the fact that saying Kay- Zee, sounds like saying Kezzie.  It's the small things in life....

Couldn't resist doing a side by side of this short and added in some rubbish looking buttons! Ha!!!

I'm happy we are coming into the cooler-clothes season but it means TARDIS Tuesday gets a little trickier!

I hope all is well with you!

TARDIS Tuesday- Yaz Khan in Power of the Daleks-a Borrowed edition!

Hello All!

Hope you are well.

I only actually featured this outfit worn by Yaz Khan in Doctor Who episode, Power of the Doctor in October 2022 so it's a very recent outfit.

However, I have, in my possession, only for a limited time, the Screen Accurate jacket, I figured, why not give it a second-viewing!

Let's have a look at it:

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/uk-news/jodie-whittaker-faces-final-doctor-25333198

The outfit consists of a mustard heavyweight cotton jacket from All Saints (the name is the Dessa Balfern jacket) with a cotton snakeskin print blouse with balloon sleeves in a burgundy colour, also from All Saints. She accompanies it with black skinny jeans and some lace-tied biker boots.

Let's look at this iteration of it:

I have the screen accurate jacket as I am helping out a cosplay friend in Argentina by buying it and sending it for her (as she cannot buy from Vinted). It feels a very good quality jacket, quite a good weight and great-quality material.

I featured the same blouse last time.  It's called the Leonie Stanza blouse and again, is beautiful quality cotton in a snake print with ruched cuffs and balloon sleeves. I intend to wear it for school this week with a denim chambray skirt and a belt as it's a great blouse for work.

It's the ubiquitous black fitted trousers and my Mum's brown leather belt.
I decided that my Clarks men's purple Brogue boots were the closest boots I had to Clara's.

I saw this picture from behind the scenes filming when searching for a full-length photo and thought it would be fun to recreate with my plastic cup!

It's a pity that my hair isn't still long and I am not good at doing plaits on short hair so bunches it was!

It was fun to try out this jacket!

Hope all is well with you!

TARDIS Tuesday- Yaz Khan's outfit from The Power of the Doctor

 Hi there!

Hope you are well.

This week for TARDIS Tuesday, I thought I'd have a go at putting together Yaz Khan's final outfit from her final episode, The Power of the Doctor.

Let's have a look at it.

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/uk-news/jodie-whittaker-faces-final-doctor-25333198

My insta pal @Zeiynacosplay was very clever and managed to identify both her jacket and her shirt/blouse from the very dark looking promo pictures available.  They are both from All Saints. Her jacket is a Balfern jacket (Yaz has another Balfern jacket but made from red leather)- this one is some sort of Canvas.
The blouse is a rich burgundy and black snake skin print.
She wears a tan/brown belt and either black/dark jeans.
At this stage, I am not sure what shoes she is wearing but I am taking a punt on either her Dune Pacey boots in Burgundy (which would go well with this) or her Doctor Martens Leonore boots in butterscotch.

She wears her trademark small silver studs and her pair in French plaits.

Here is my version:

In terms of her jacket, I did debate buying a mustard-coloured jacket but I really do have so many jackets and I decided to use one I had any way.  I bought this caramel-coloured fake leather jacket from a charity shop in Ipswich with Sophie and Hazel around about 4-5 years ago.
I wore a pair of black pinstripe trousers (charity shopped) as they were the first ones I found on Sunday morning (I wore this on the day that the episode aired!) and added my Mum's brown leather belt.

I have no idea how Zeiyna managed to identify the shirt but she was spot on with it.  To be fair, I did think it might be from All Saints!  I managed to find one second hand on eBay as I thought it looked really pretty.  All Saints RRP prices are ridiculous. This retailed at £110!!!
I was SO happy to find it was 100% cotton and beautifully soft.  It was wonderful puffed sleeves and ruched cuffs
She doesn't seem to be wearing any jewellry but I decided to wear my 40th birthday present of her Alex Monroe necklace. I tied my hair in rudimentary plaits- I don't have enough hands to do French braids/plaits!!

My final part of the outfit- I decided to wear my Dune Pacey boots which I FINALLY found in the screen accurate burgundy colour a couple of months ago!

Update:
Ah, this  was SUCH a wonderful episode!!!

Spoilers alert!!!!!

Last chance to look away!

It warmed my hearts to see the Classic Doctors making  an appearance as well as the wonderful inclusion of 5 old companions including William Russell who played Ian Chesterton  in the  very first episode!

I thought  the plot  was very clever and using the Regeneration energy of the Cybermen to get Jodie's Doctor back.
Lots of great acting and heartfelt moments  as well as laughs.
Sacha Dawan's Master was suitably evil and crazy and a great villain!

I did think Yaz leaving just like that was a bit abrupt and unexpected. I expected  something more dramatic!

Well done Chibnall, this was a great episode!

TARDIS Tuesday- Kate Stewart from the Power of the Doctor

 Hello!

Hope you are well.  Wasn't it a LOVELY weekend? Well, it was in Essex. Hope it was for you. The weather was gloriously sunny and wasn't too cold. I spent much of the weekend at home but I did go to Leigh on Sea on Saturday afternoon for lunch (at the delicious Vegan Wild Health where I had a Buddha bowl and a Beetroot juice) and bought a couple of bits at the Refill room. We also went over to my Mum's for a cup of tea and to play with her kitties. Sunday, I went to church in the morning (ah, I love going to a country church!) and then did things at home.

This weekend for TARDIS Tuesday, I thought I'd make a nod to the upcoming BBC 100 years anniversary episode of Doctor Who. This is going to be a notable reason for several reasons:

1. It is Jodie Whittaker's last adventure as the Doctor.

2. It features the first onscreen appearances of 80's classic Doctor Who companions Tegan Jovanka (Janet Fielding) and Ace McShane (Sophie Aldred) for the first time since they appeared on the show.

3. It features a return of the Master.

4. It features Daleks AND Cybermen.

5. It features Kate Stewart, daughter of classic Who character Brigadier Alastair Lethbridge Stewart.

I saved this picture from the limited images available from the upcoming episode as I realised that this was a cosplay I could do really easily with everything I owned already. I love it when I can do a 'closet cosplay' as well as one that has been painstakingly researched!

Shall we have a look at it?

https://jemma-redgrave.net/2022/04/17/new-doctor-who-kate-stewart-promo-image/

Yes, it's not the most exciting of outfits- it is a 'work look' and a fairly Autumnal boring one at that but occasionally, I do wear things like this when I am not feeling 100% imaginative and for  lot of people, they like this kind of look for work. Perhaps, even if you think this is a boring look, you will appreciate that I managed to put together something quite similar even if it doesn't float your boat!
It features:
  • Navy blue blazer
  • Black/navy trousers
  • Purple jumper
  • Small gold circle necklace
  • UNIT round pin-badge.
  • Gun in the hand! OO-er!

Over to my version:

Let's chat where I went with this.
I started with a purple, sparkly jumper from Whistles with Merino wool. Sadly, the sparkle is not visible in this picture. I bought this jumper for my Yaz Khan cosplay which I wore for my 40th birthday cosplay party (which many of you featured in!). Whistles is a posh brand but I managed to get mine fairly cheap.
Next, I added a navy blue, soft-blazer from Urban Outfitters. This comes from my Clara cosplay for an episode called Hide. It's actually a little tight as it is an XS but is fine with a thin jumper underneath.
The ubiquitous black ASOS trousers made their 20 millionth cosplay appearance and I just threw on CBC's black school shoes as I had temporarily mislaid my own black boots and couldn't be bothered to find any others.

After this, I added a small gold circle necklace (see clearly below). I bought 2 of these from eBay for 99p each for my Into the Dalek Clara cosplay. This time I wore just one. (Oooh, just noticed you can see the sparkles a bit...)

I'm presuming Kate's pin badge is the Unit one like this one on eBay but at a distance, all I needed was a silver circular pin badge with a circle within a circle of some sort to add to my lapel rather something accurate. I selected my Tudor Rose pin badge which I bought on my UK cruise with Mum when we visited Speke Hall in Liverpool. I did the trick.
Are you wondering about my gun?  Well, the hose gun was lying on the wooden table, unattached to the hose in the garden and it has a trigger and everything so I just grabbed this for the photos! Ha!

It's a pity I haven't had my hair cut yet as this is the length I am going to go for. Ah well, there's room for improvement another time!

I could very easily wear this look for school for a day when I want to be a little smarter. I think I'll be a little too warm at the moment though for being inside at school so I might wait till it gets cooler. It was good for being outside in.

What do you think?  Will you be watching the episode when it airs on the 23rd October? I'm SO excited for Ace and Tegan! Chibnall better not kill them off though! I want to see them again!

xx

TARDIS Tuesday- Legend of the Seadevils- Yaz Khan's outfit- Closet cosplay

Hi there,

Hope you are well.

Today, I am featuring an outfit from Doctor Who from an episode that hasn't even aired yet! It will air on Easter Sunday!

It features current companion, Yasmin or Yaz Khan.

Here are some images from the episode:

Image borrowed from  https://www.tumgir.com/tag/yasmin%20khan

Image borrowed from  https://www.tumgir.com/tag/yasmin%20khan

Yaz is wearing an oriental-looking outfit.  Appropriate since the episode is set, from what I can see, in an Oriental location, or at least has some Oriental-looking cast members.
Yaz is wearing a purple-spotted tunic with a black floral waist tie with a grey, long skirt or trousers with black floral embellishments and black canvas shoes with rattan heels.

I decided to try this look as I thought that I could use a shirt of CBC's as the basis of a quick thrown together look.  I thought I'd try also to recreate the promotional images I have seen:

I started with CBC's purple-spotted linen shirt which I wore backwards to hide the button and try to give a high-necked look.  I confess, this looks rubbish in the picture below- the shirt sags out in an unpleasing, you are wearing me the wrong way round, kind of way and it needs an iron (as if!) and I had to pull it down several times to retake this picture!
I found a black floral headband I own which I tied around my waist- it's a bit skinny so I reckon I could have found something a bit better.

Next, I added a grey cotton skirt which I bought in Antwerp from Think Twice for 2 Euros (from my Valentines outfit). It's a bit short and lacks floral embellishments but for a simple closet-cosplay, it will do!
I am notoriously bad at hair so an attempt at making my hair stay on top of my head, to try and emulate Mandip's hair style was quite hard! I did the best I could and it actually stayed up for the evening.
I forgot which shoes she was wearing for the picture, which is a shame as I actually have similar shoes to hers, but my black boots will do for now!
My final element was a mouldy bamboo cane grabbed from the shed to emulate her sword.

I'm looking forward to watching the episode on Sunday!
It was fun to try and put this together, even if it does look a bit rubbish and probably not an outfit I'd wear....unless I turned the shirt the right way round!!!

What do you think?
xx
