5 broooches #55

300 reports complete. 200 to go.... Ahrgh!

A quick post here- one that was already ready to go but I always feel it is nice to add a welcome to you, written on the actual day!  It's only 6 days since my last broochage post but I haven't got much time to do anything else but I wanted a wee distraction!

Hope there's something you like here!
You can just see Nessie on the right. He's from @fairytalecollars on Etsy!  He seemed to fit right in with the Orla Kiely pattern I felt.

And here are the teapot and teacup brooches I made a while back out of Shrinkplastic. I started making another brooch the other day, one that has been sitting waiting for ages. The subject of it is so cute so I will be dismayed if it goes wrong in the oven!

Two photos of this one.  I thought I'd wear my Glitterpunk pastel keyboard with my Miss Patina Aristocat blouse!
Last but not least, is an ensemble you will have seen a few weeks ago. My charity-shopped Robin jumper with Rosebud Casson Robbin necklace plus her Blackbird pin and a Primark bird pin plus a Christchurch welcome badge!

Any favourites here?

The two extremes

Frantic scurrying around for most of a day, a night and a morning:
Rooms cleaned, clothes folded, bank statements sorted, floors hoovered, baths scrubbed, dressing tables polished, sheets changed, hair washed, rotten pears collected. clothes delivered to the charity shop, books donated to library,
Frenzy, movement, constant thinking, the ticking of a clock, time stampeding like entropy and finally....

Relax.

CBC returned.

Driving to pub,
Food being eaten; fields being admired.
Gardens returned to.
Jet lag finally given into and two Am bedtimes acknowledged.
Throws spread, cushions dropped and sleep upon the lawn.

The two extremes.

He is home and I am glad.

What to wear on his day home?
Something red and quirky. The first time CBC and I danced together, I wore a red dress. Not this one.
Tea cups by Orla Kiely at People Tree and my teapot brooch from Gloriously Glittery brooch at Etsy

We fell asleep on the grass in the cool air

Hope you are well!

Beige

Beige gets a bad press amongst us who blog clothes on l'internet.  There's a whole anti-beige movement due to the rather bland nature of it and the sense that a certain age you are expected to dress blandly and beigely. I confess, though I haven't openly joined the anti-beige brigade (because some people LIKE it, I'm not going to judge. It SUITS some people), I am not fond of it as it makes me look sallow and washed out and *whispers*, sometimes can make people look like they have no clothes on in it.  But it's ok on this caramelly hat and on the cuffs of this Orla Kiely dress.
I think Julie asked to see the dress as you caught a glimpse in a past 5 brooches!
I confess, I have ummed and ahed about whether to keep this Orla dress over time- it's not typically and obviously Orla plus it is rather like a sack on me. But the fact it is 100% cotton, very, very comfortable and has a Peter Pan collar has kept it in my wardrobe.
How do you feel about beige?

#5 brooches 15

Hi there! There are mostly new brooches in this batch as well as a familiar one or two!
Brooch numero uno is this copper-glitter bear!  I find him utterly adorable! It looks like he is looking up lovingly at me! This Whitestuff short-sleeved cardie is the perfect display cabinet for brooches I've discovered! It has HAUGE lapels!  I've had it about 6 years but I don't wear it very often as it is handwash only and I know it will fester at the bottom of the laundry basket for years! But since washing machines now have handwash settings, really I have no excuse except my fear of wrecking it! The necklace was a Christmas pressie from my sister-in-law and is from Ladybird likes!
Foxy makes his reappearance for the 3rd time in the 5 brooches series! I like his serious yet twinkling eyes! Thought I'd show you the collar in its entirety avec double chinnage for free!
That's him close up. On the same grey cardie.

Collar clips! The shirt I am wearing has been my most worn charity shop purchase of 2015- £1 bought with Hazel and Sophie it is comfy, requires no ironing and is boring enough for collar clips every time!
I've shared 3 pictures of these dinosaur collar clips as they were really hard to photograph. As you can see, this shirt DOES require ironing which I attempted to hide under my charity-shopped tank top but the lack of ironing was sadly evident.
Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawr! Stegosaurus!
Snap, snap, bite, RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWRRRRR! T-rex!

Lastly, this 'Save the Bees' ceramic brooch went with my December-charity-shopped mustard polo neck jumper. To my mortification, on wearing this with black trousers, my friend and colleague told me I looked like I was in Star Trek!  Now I love being told I look like I am dressed up as something but I would have liked to have been doing it deliberately. Hmmmm,Star Trek brooch....

Any favourites? I've seen some lovely ones around but I can't remember whose posts as I was on a train!!
