TARDIS Tuesday- The 11th Doctor femme version from The Bells of Saint John.

Hello there!

I hope you are well! Today, I thought I'd share a closet cosplay that I've been meaning to do for about 3 years and finally got around to doing!

It is the final outfit worn by the 11th Doctor, played by Matt Smith.

https://wibblywobblyknits.wordpress.com/2015/02/26/finished-another-11th-doctor-color-variant-today/

He wears his trademark Bowtie- purple or navy. A blue textured shirt, A purple suede frock coat, a grey/blue textured waistcoat, black/navy trousers and purple brooch boots.

And here's my version- concocted from things I own anyway!

I'll run you through my outfit. I wore this for a trip to the lovely town of Maldon in Essex for a family Christmas afternoon tea at the wonderful tea room, Mrs Salisbury
The first item I chose was my purple wool coat (Debenhams 14 years ago).  it's not the same shade, nor does it have the same lapels or texture, but it's purple and the correct length.
I wanted to wear a blue and white stripy shirt I have but I couldn't find it so I just wore a white spot-textured shirt from White Stuff.
My waistcoat came from La Redoute a while back and is a sparkly/shiny grey colour. Again, it's not the same shape but serves as part of the whole look!
I added my silver pocket watch which was a 16th birthday present from my Godsister!
My bowtie came from the Vintage Emporium in Hexham. CBC does have a purple one but I didn't manage to find it for the photos!
We found some good locations to pose by in Maldon- this door looks vaguely TARDISesque!
Rather than go for a trousers look, I decided to make it a feminine version of the outfit and added my black velvet Topshop skaterskirt and black tights.

The final touch is my Clarks Men's purple Brogue boots that I bought back in 2019.  They are fleece-lined and very robust

It was a fun outfit to wear and I felt smart.  Luckily, nobody mistook me for the waiting staff at our Afternoon tea.  It was a lovely occasion which I will post about soon!
What do you think?

Would any aspect of this outfit work for you?

TARDIS Tuesday- Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS

Ah, tis my favourite Clara outfit this week! I was trying to think of a Summer appropriate TARD

Last worn in August 2019 on this blog, this will be the 6th time I have featured it on my blog for TARDIS Tuesday (a few slightly different interpretations). It was the Clara outfit that first made me love Clara's style and want to recreate it. I was in that phase where I first started to LOVE a collar dress or top and this was totally my thing! Plus, her hair was superb!

In this episode, she dons a beautiful red Sequin-print dress from Urban Outfitters brand, Vaudeville and Burlesque.  It had a black collar added underneath.  She wore brown ankle boots with buckle from All Saints and black and silver triangular earrings plus a ton of bracelets including one made out of antique watch faces.

Here's my 2022 version.

It's pretty much identical to my 2019 version except that my hair looks slightly better and I didn't wear Scarf-clips as a watch braclet but just donned a circular bracelet. I wore the Screen-accurate dress and an alternative pair of brown boots bought from TK Maxx some years ago!

In addition, I wore triangular earrings which actually look more like Clara's necklace from another episode.

I really would love to wear this one to school! I have a feeling the children would like it. However, don't really want to cycle in it!!

Hope that all is ok with you.

(Type 40) TARDIS Tuesday Birthday special outfits featuring brilliant bloggers!

I am so excited to share this post!

Welcome to my 40th birthday blog party!  Thank you for coming!

Today's TARDIS Tuesday is the most special one to date as some of my favourite bloggers have joined me to dress up for TARDIS Tuesday to celebrate my 40th birthday!

I am so excited and I have been giggling with glee over their wonderful contributions! I hope you enjoy them too!

If you wanted to join in, put together an outfit and I'll try and add you in later! The more the merrier and you're welcome even if you are late!

These aren't in any particular order of submission - I opened all the tabs and randomly picked on them!

I've linked to everyone's posts with a hyperlink for their names.

First is Vix!  Vix has the most wonderful vintage wardobe so I knew that she would do a brilliant Classic Doctor Who outfit and my money was on her going for either Romana or Sarah Jane Smith (though I do think she'd make a hot Leela too!).

Vix chose one of my FAVOURITE Sarah Jane Smith outfits from The Masque of Mandragora.

Sarah wears a wonderful patterned dress with a white blouse with a black bow:

I LOVE this so much- her Anokhi sun dress is a BRILLIANT dupe for Sarah Jane's dress (she suspects that SJS's dress IS from Anokhi and she is the expert so I am quite sure she is right!) - her blouse is brilliant from Ayesha Davar and looks amazing with it! Plus she's superimposed herself into all these photos! Absolutely wonderful!

Up next is possibly the blog friend I've had for the longest out of all my still-blogging friends- Sophie!

She chose to dress as Missy- the female incarnation of the renegade Timelord known as The Master! Missy's style is crazy Mary Poppins!

I cannot believe how AMAZING she looks and how much she suits this outfit (and hair!)- she has the facial expressions down to a tee!!!!

This next photo made me laugh so much (with delight) when Sophie mentions she is holding a coaster to emulate Missy's communicator and weapon and her husband mocked her- this is EXACTLY what CBC does to me!!! The facial expression is superb! She was MADE for this!!!

Ang: had a bit of a dilemma as she is moving house in a month and all her costume are boxed up.
She chose Tom Baker's 4th Doctor as her inspiration- his outfit from the iconic  Genesis of the Daleks.
I don't need to introduce Tom Baker's outfit as it is SO iconic!

She borrowed her husband's coat and hat and is using her half-made Weather Scarf (with the knitting needle and a ball of wool stuffed up her sleeve! It's instantly recognizable and I love that her new weather scarf is so suitable! Raiding husband's wardrobe is a great way to go- I've raided CBC's several times!
Plus, the Dalek is ABSOLUTELY GENIUS! Look at it!!!!!!!

Next Fil  had the same super idea as Sophie- the brilliant Missy!!!!
I cannot believe how much this suits her!!!!

Look at all that sumptuous velvet and the cheeky Missy kiss is a dastardly moment in the episode when this post came!!!

Plus look at excellent purple boots peeping out from under her skirt! I want to see those shoes!!!

Bev chose our earliest incarnation in today's outfit!  The very first companion of the Doctor- his grand-daughter, Susan Foreman!
This is one of the outfits I have in the planning (it's been a draft post for 2 years!) so I am pretty excited to see this one.  Susan's style was schoolgirl chic at times with 60's casual outfits brilliance.

In the Sensorites, she wears a cute pinafore/dungaree dress with a white blouse, cute shoes and knee high white socks.

Bev's outfit is so cute and I love how she interpreted this with her tights and done a mock short hairstyle! This is a great outfit and I definitely want to try this one now!!

Sam very sweetly saw Vix mention my birthday party and very kindly joined in with a photo of her travelling in a TARDIS-like Space-ship! She has a very cool background!! I love having new blog friends, especially ones who like Doctor Who and are sweet enough to join with my celebration!

Ann went for my favourite companion Clara Oswald in this most sought after of Clara outfits- her green and navy Tartan dress outfit from The Name of the Doctor where we find out why she is The Impossible Girl.

Ann chose a beautiful vintage Tartan dress which has all the lovely greens and blues of Clara's dress plus a cute bow to emulate the collar.  Her wonderful shoes are a great match for Clara's ones. I cannot believe how cute she looks in it!!! Love the pose too!

Ivana also chose Clara as her inspiration, her tartan skirt outfit from my post 2 weeks ago.
She has that although the colours are different, the general feel is the same.  I agree- the fitted Tartan skirt plus the fitted black top really does evoke the feel of Clara's outfit and the black opaque tights and black feels are very much in keeping with Clara's dressy look. Ivana looks really chic in this look as she shares one of her wonderful paintings!

My final friend Sheila  chose to be the 11th Doctor- Matt Smith. I knew Sheila would come up with something opulent- I was guessing either fem versions of the 3rd Doctor Who or the 11th Doctor- I knew Sheila would be one of the Doctors and not a companion!
And I was right!

She chose the ubiquitous smart bowtie look at the 11th Doctor- tweedy coat, red spotty bow tie, smart Ankle boots, detailed shirt (with spots) and EVEN a Fez!!!

Underneath, she wore a waistcoat in place of his braces and a wonderful skirt in place of his trousers (I have decreed that when I do this look, I will wear a skirt instead too! I realise I STILL haven't done an 11th Doctor look myself!) .  The 11th Doctor sometimes puts on his coloured-framed glasses when he wants to look clever so even her glasses (unintentionally) are a nod to the Doctor!
The whole look ties in so well together- neat and chic!

And finally here's mine.  I feel decidedly underdressed after all these wonderful outfits!  I was debating what to wear for my TARDIS Tuesday and thinking I should do something dressy and I did debate doing a second outfit that was more dressy ( as I needed to wear something practical as I wanted to go for a walk) but I also had a 40th birthday present that I really wanted to use in my outfit.....so I've gone for quite a casual one this time!

And finally, here's me!

This outfit was worn by Yaz Khan in Demon's of the Punjab.

She wears a plum sparkly jumper from Whistles plus a Khaki waffle blazer (also from Whistles)
plus black skinny jeans, grey Adidas trainers and a beautiful bee and daisy necklace from Alex Monroe. Plus, during the wedding ceremony, she adds a yellow flower behind her ear. (gutted that I didn't see this birthday shot before I did this post!)

I managed to find the blazer and jumper a while back (2nd hand of course) and my 40th birthday present (plus Christmas present joint) from my Dad and Stepmum was the beautiful bee and daisy necklace from Alex Monroe.  I added a yellow flower behind my ear and some old Adidas trainers I was given.

I've had SUCH fun putting this post together and seeing the wonderful effort my friends, new and old, have put into this for me. I don't know about you, but I've loved collaborative posts like this, like the Bloggers Art Gallery last Summer- it's fun for everyone else to visit everyone else also!

Thank you blogging friends, for making this such a joy for me!

Lots of love,
Kezzie (Type 40)
