Targets- I like to ride my bicycle!

Since I am riding in the London-Brighton cycle ride, training is in earnest. The previous weekend we cycled around 15 miles. This weekend, we cycled 22miles, which was fab, especially as it culminated at the 20mile mark in serious cake indulgence!! I managed to negociate 2 very large roundabouts with traffic coming off the A12 Dual carriageway, also involving large stopping lorry! Managed not to be too openly panicked, resorting to fervent inward prayer for safety!

It is curious that my body responds in different ways each week. The first time, my right knee hurt. This time, my coccyx was in pain; rather embarassingly- church was arduous- and I was suddenly aware of how much getting up and down there is! So my target is 54 miles as that is the London-Brighton distance.

So my training total so far is 37 miles! This is a HUGE deal for me considering this time last year, I couldn't ride a bike and have still only riden around 10 times!

What's the furthest distance any of you have cycled?

Work wise, Only 1 week to go! All of the teaching world is very tired and trying to complete everything. Particularly of paperwork to be completed before the end. Work scrutiny (again)- check. Assessment data due (again)- check, APP English assessments -check, assessments to mark- check. Music choir observation- ooooer -check.
But we SHALL persevere!

Oh and it's FISHTANK time of year! My own created unit of work which I totally and utterly sabotaged a meeting dreaming up! So cue my bad acting skills at pretending to cut my finger off.
Let's hope that my kiddies do me as proud as last year's did with their DT prowess!
