TARDIS Tuesday outfit: - The Name of the Doctor - Clara Oswald

Hello there friends,

I hope all is well with you .

The last time this outfit featured on my blog, it wasn't worn by me!  The lovely Ann at Polyester Princess wore here.  The last time I personally featured it was December 2017.  I also know I did 2 versions of it previously in around 2014-2015 but I can't find the posts!  Each time, I have worn a different dress.

Let's look at the original:

Jenna Coleman is wearing a tartan dress from the NW3 collection at Hobbs made of wool blend with navy sleeves and collar. She teams it with a gold-plated Dormouse necklace, also from Hobbs, her ubiquitous black tights and a pair of burgundy knot wedged shoes as well as a couple of bracelets.

So, how has my 2022 edition remained the same or changed?
Have a look for yourself

Yes, your eyes have not deceived you, I FINALLY have the dress! It's very hard to find and very sought after! How did I acquire mine?  Well, I had another quite rare dress which another cosplayer wanted, although mine was an different coloured one- she agreed to swap dresses with me.  The slight snag was her one was a size 16 but I still swapped it. Fast forward to last year and another cosplayer had obtained the dress in a 12 but it was too small for her but she remembered I had a 16....so we swapped!

It's SUCH a beautiful-quality dress and it feels really nice.  The 12 is a bit big for me but I am glad as I wouldn't want a dress in this sort of material to be too fitted.

The burgundy shoes I am wearing came from Clarks around 7-8 years ago and they are the same ones I wore last time.
The necklace is even more rare than the dress and I only know 2 people who own it.
This Christmas, I received 2 beautiful wooden laser-cut jewellery pieces from a local jewellery-maker who, it turned out, is the wife of CBC's work colleague.  I got in touch with her back in January and asked her if she would consider a commission.  My friend Rosie provided me with photos with measurements of her real Dormouse necklace and I sent them to Katy (at My Pretty Little Earth- if you are into Space or nature, she has some really lovely wooden pieces at very reasonable prices) and she came up with the most wonderful wooden recreation of it!

I'm super happy with this outfit but what do you think?

Tonight, I'll be at my first rehearsal of my most local orchestra since February 2020- very exciting!

Alllll the foxes!

Greetings!  I hope your day has been bright, sunny and contented.  As you all seemed to like Mr Foxton on Friday, I thought I'd share the full outfit that he was part of.
As it happens, I am not particularly happy with my resident foxes as I left my bikini bag (for keeping a wet costume in) out hanging in the garden and it had fallen down and overnight, the foxes had played with it, removed the drawstring and bit three holes in it. So that one is resigned to the bin!
You might remember these gorgeous fox-flat shoes from Love Hetty and Dave that I featured in a Wishlist a while back, bemoaning the fact that CBC refused to buy them for me when I offered it as something I'd quite like when he asked about Christmas and birthday presents.  As you can see, he relented and bought them for me!  Yay!
The weekend has been nice albeit fairly meandering. We took our friend (the one who introduced us!) out for dinner to our favourite Thai restaurant on Friday which was great fun. To my surprise and slight chagrin, I awoke super early on Saturday morning so to make the best of a bad situation, I got u and jogged to the local swimming pool where I arrived at 7.30am for a 30 minute dip!
It meant I was able to pick up a parcel from the delivery office, head to the library to pick up a reserved book and to buy some 17 bargain books for 10p a piece from there for the school library!  Had a bit of luck in the charity shops too when I found a Screen Accurate blouse worn by Clara in Doctor Who as well as two other pretty blouses! All the collars.

Back home, I did some tidying and washing until we headed to another town for CBC's optician's appointment where I purchased a further 14 books from the charity shop for the library (Not a bad weekend's haul, 30 immaculate books for £9!).  We then headed to a taster day for learning musical instruments for a local authority music hub, where CBC led Cello taster lessons and I walked to town and pootled.  I think I must have walked 5 miles along high streets that day!)

In the evening, after a bit more sorting, we headed over to our friend's to watch Eurovision.  I didn't find it as fun without our usual party! I missed the hilarious manic laughter from our usual host!

Today, waking late, I have spent most of the day tidying, hanging washing or reading.  CBC went on an interminable, epic cycle with his brother.  Oh... and I made Chocolate cornflake cakes- mmm!!

If you fancy wearing an entirely foxy outfit, the dress is by Run&Fly- they don't have their own website but you can get them from Thunderegg Manchester or on Ebay (where I got mine) or other independent boutiques. The shoes are from Love Hetty and Dave, brooch from Hello Crumpet on Etsy and the necklace was from Punkypins though they don't make them now!

I hope your weekend was foxilicious!

Bird watching

All in all it was a rather unsatifactory weekend in terms of achievement and fulfilling tasks etc.  Largely spent at home as I was uber-snotty!  However, I did end up going to take several bags to the charity shop and then ended up having a look in a few.

The robin jumper was my only garrment purchase.  At £3, I was rather taken by it- I have a real thing for robins and it seems churlish to spurn it
On Sunday, I decided to wear it in a largely charity-shopped outfit. The skirt and coat were also charityshopped.  I was rather pleased with the coat- it's the Clara Oswald Screen accurate but in an alternative colour from Topshop which she wears in several episodes and is apparently one of the hardest items to locate! Thank you Charity shop!

A whole plethora of birdy additions completed the outfit and I am wearing a badge from church as we had a team service and so everyone who had a role (in my case, worship band), had to wear one! It says Welcome to Christ Church but you can't really see in the picture.

I had the most horrendous journey to work this morning. I was SOO glad to be nice and early and prompt and was there at 7.30am to catch the 7.34 train...

...I finally reached school at 10.30am!  Utterly ludicrous!!!! All because of a signal failure.

Their compensation scheme doesn't take into account the fact that I now have to give up an extra hour of my own time to make up that time to the person whose class I was late for and the school had extra supply in.  Also, standing in the cold for 1.5 hours was not good for my cold which wasn't feeling AS yucky when I woke up!

Right my dears, I am off to Bedfordshire!
