Advent calendar Scavenger Hunt 14- Snowman

I shared some of the stockings from the church Christmas tree last week. This week, during our Pop up nativity, I was sitting the opposite side and I could see these snowmen very clearly.

They're very blingy! Definitely, these snowmen have been Puttin' on the Ritz!

I don't know why this one on the right makes me smile so much- something about its slightly inane smile!

Photo Scavenger Hunt!

I haven't joined in for ages with Hawthorn at http://livelovecraftme.blogspot.co.uk/

and her lovely Scavenger Hunt so it was lovely that Louise reminded me to join in!

1. Relaxed
I relaxed under this bridge in the shade whilst my husband walked from parking the car 5miles away. We then walked back to the car together!

2. It begins with an M...
MOUSE!  We went to the lovely Holly Bush Inn in Greenhaugh (pronounced Green Hoff) in Northumberland and when I went to the Ladies Loos, I saw this in the corner of the facilities! How sweet!

3. Time for...
Dinner!!! If you ever go to Megalo Papigo in the Vikos Gorge in Greece, go and eat at Astra!!! |Amazing stuffed courgette flowers!

4.  Tangerine...
Skies in Corfu Town!

5. It begins with an O...
...Omelette! Well- it is a Spanish Tortilla which we cooked for a Spanish 'Not the Abbey Tapas' party last Friday but it is essentially an Omelette!

6. Whiskery..
The cutest little kitty in Corfu was very whiskery!

7. Lace
 These flowers look like lace.

8.  Bridge
A famous triple bridge in the Vikos Gorge region of Greece in Plakida.

9. Letters
I loved the scene for this wedding which we went to and played music for. The letters were a beautiful focal point  for the Bride and Groom.

10. My own choice.

The moon above the Astraka in the Vikos Gorge!

Scavenger Hunt March 2016

I've been rather remiss with my scavenging in the last few months. Thus, this has been a determined last minute scramble to ensure this does not ensue!
The prompts are provided by Greenthumb at Made with Love: http://suzzie43.blogspot.co.uk/p/scaerngera.html

Enjoy!

Local
Here's the local train service in Haltwhistle coming along the line!

City
Here is the theatre in Newcastle City Centre. It is very impressive!
And here is another city sight- the impressive Tyne Bridge.

Stripes
The only picture I took this month with stripes was slightly blurry so I put it into HD in Picmonkey to make it look a bit more gritty!
This was in the Tower Art Gallery and Cafe in Newcastle's Artistic quarter. I liked the combination of violin, washing basket and typewriter.

Crisp
Hello Tyrells Sweet chilli and pepper!

RockStairs
Several of us wondered if this was a typo and these were supposed to be Rock and Stairs separately  but here, I have indeed Rock stairs!  These stairs are formed from rocks on the ascent on Blencathra in the Lake District.
And here they are close up!

Tiles
Oops, will try to add this when I take one!

Street Art
We saw a few pieces of street art in Newcastle the other day. I liked that this was on a Paint depo!

Hair
Saw this clump of er- something on a branch and it totally looked like unkempt hair!

Measure
Hermione's Time Turner seems to measure time too as well as taking you back in time to save an Animagus and Hippogriff!

Large
This slice of Mars Bar crispie in the Barrowburn farm tea room was large to say the least as was the pot of tea. For £3.50 I had about 6 cups of tea and this delicious slice!

For one
In the 1980's, London Transport introduced the Travel Card which meant you could travel on the bus, tube and train FOR ONE price.  There was a brilliant advert on TV in which Superman solved various problems using the bus, tube and train named "Super Car".  I was thus, very surprised to see the original SuperCar today at Barleylands!

Landscape
Here's a view of the landscape coming down from Blencathra's summit.
We could see so much from here!

Scavenger Hunt

Hello my possums!

I'm rather late posting my Scavenger Hunt pics and one or two may be familiar but nonetheless, into the fray!

Joy
This might not look a particularly joyful photo to you but I was really really joyful. I was at my old church for the carol service by candlelight. It was warm, glowing, I had a candle in hand, with old familiar friends round me in a place I've known since birth and we were celebrating Christ's coming! What more could I need!

Together,
Two foxes, reunited together by some nefarious person!

Tree
The Disney tree at St Pancras.

Ornament
I saw these darling tin hot air balloons at a Christmas fair and was rather taken with them/

Light

The advent wreath exuded a warm, glowing light.

Christmas

Jesus in a manger at Christmas!

Sparkle
I stopped in West London to photograph this sparkly wreath!

Giving
Forget seven swans-a-swimming, there were six million swans gathered together as someone was giving them food! there were also geese (not a-laying!)

Food

Boxing day Vegetarian goodies!

Red
Robin Redbreast and Rudolph the red nosed reindeer (who is apparently a FRAUD!)

Kitchen

The only picture I could find set in a kitchen! Apologies to anyone in the photo who is displeased at seeing themselves! I figured most people are a bit blurry so they shouldn't mind too much!

Whatever you want

I like this tin full of enamel pins! Can you spot the satsuma pin I bought??? Where's Wally, the brooch edition!

Scavenger Hunt October 2015

I think I'm addicted!  I could not stand not being able to blog!!! The good news is, I've stayed up ridiculously late for the last 3 nights (2am-ish) and got lots done). The bad news is I still have more to do BUT, I'm ok for the moment.  Feeling extraordinarily positive today, was super efficient at work and so decided I could do a little blog post
As usual, I am enthusiastically tardy in my entry to the Scavenger Hunt with Greenthumb at Made with love.  Skulking at the edges with shame but glad to be here!  We definitely have a variety here!

En avant!

Question
The Scene:
(At John Lewis Birmingham New Street, staring up at the amazing Atrium ceiling.)
CBC:  I wonder how they clean that? Could they clean it?
Kezzie: Errr...? (Stares up blankly).  Look!
(CBC and Kezzie look up.  Funny you should ask that...)

Cream
At Hexham Spook Night, where CBC and I went to watch the judging of the kids fancy dress costumes, we sloped off to Mrs Miggins' coffee shop for a hot chocolate.
The waitress smiled in a knowing fashion and asked if we'd like that with cream and marshmallows. We agreed.
It came specially dressed for the 31st October.
CBC had bought two books in the charity shop- Cirque du Freak and Little House on the Prairie. To my amusement, he thought he was posing with the former rather than the latter!
Mwa ha!

Number
In Blanchland, after a walk.  Rudimentary but apt.

Lattice

Taken about 2 seconds after the number, "Ah, a lattice work at last!"

Familiar
In Hexham, the familar site of the Abbey, towering above all. I love this view of the clock tower which reminds me of a robot mixed with King Rollo!

Ring

Would madam like a ring of cushions?

or "Ring, ring! It's for You-hooo!"

Today
Today I took a walk in the petrifying and austere woods and DIDN'T get eaten by wolves.

Down
Looking down on the Tyne river (where the salmon jump) from the Alston Arches railway viaduct.

Writing
Technically carving (in the middle if you squint!) but writing despite this!

Many
Many crispy coloured leaves littering the ground.

Broken
Pavlova broken at the edges (and demolished in less time than it took me to type that!)

 Whatever you want
Not the best of photos, but I was gleeful to see a Lenticular cloud (Stratocumulus lenticular maybe?), which resembled a flying saucer haunting the Northumbrian fields.

Have you taken any photos this month? Do share if so!
I will try to catch up with some comments as soon as I can! I've read a fair few posts on the train but not had too much time to say howdy!
