TARDIS Thursday- Day of the Doctor Clara

 I had an awful headache lasting from Sunday evening to Wednesday morning and I couldn't face a computer screen so TARDIS Thursday it is, instead of Tuesday! I also had a first rehearsal for The Rite of Spring which I am playing with the Orchestra of the City in Holborn on Friday 19th July (if anyone is interested!).  It was really exciting! It is such a difficult and interesting piece to play and I am playing the Alto flute part which, to me, actually seems the best part out of all FIVE flute parts as I get solos but none of the dreadfully difficult high stuff! Admittedly, I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have done with a stonking great headache but I did have a nice little treat as I bought a battered sausage from the nearby chippy to eat just before (I'd had some salad and fruit plus marmite on bread) and the guy threw in a little scoop of chips with it which was really kind!

Anyway, onto a TARDIS Tuesday which last featured in October 2021.  It hasn't changed since my last two permutations except I switched in some different black boots.

The main element of the outfit is yet another red garment for TT- it's the 3rd week in a row with red as the main feature!

The red dress is from River Island and really needed an iron!

I added a black belt and Clara's Topshop boots from some other outfits. I didn't bother with the SA boots.  Considering slowly discarding all my uncomfortable Clara shoes- I already sold 2 pairs!

My jacket is from Barbour but hers is Belstaff. I like this one well enough!

I like this outfit very much and it's a nice Summer outfit- if I wear the dress with leggings rather than tights and sandals rather than boots! I'm wearing a tiny horseshoe necklace which I bought from eBay a long time ago!

This Friday, I am taking my Drumming Club to a interschool festival, this Thursday we have an author coming to visit the school and this weekend, CBC and I are going to Northumberland and Scotland for Chase the Sun North. He will cycle the 205 miles from Whitley Bay to Ayr and I shall attempt it by Pubic transport! Ahrgh!  We have to get to Whitley Bay at around 11 at night and then he has to get up at 4am or earlier to get to the start line. YUCK!

My day was good today  as my Year 3's had a jolly, well-behaved lesson in which they composed and performed their own recorder roads melodies and the year 2's enjoyed learning about Benjamin Britten's opera, Peter Grimes, listening to two of his sea interludes, Dawn and the Storm and then learning a song with contrasting verses about the sea and creating Dawn and Storm interlude music in between.  They seemed to be having a great time!

TARDIS Thursday- Village of the Angels Yaz

Hi there,

Greetings from Lurgy-ville! I started to feel a bit unwell on Sunday night and now I have a fully blown cold.  Yesterday, I took 18 children from my Year 4 recorder club to perform in our local borough's annual recorder festival.  It was the first one since 2019 and is a festival I have been taking part in since about 1988! We had a lovely time (although had to wait 30mins for the last parent to collect their child!)   It was sad that only 3 schools (plus the music school) accepted the invitation to take part.  In past years, there have been dozens of schools. I wondered why? Is the recorder not being taught so much (wretched Ukelele)? Was it too last minute? I do hope that it will develop again more next year.

My children were really proud of themselves and really excited but nervous to do their first performance with other schools.  When I look at the children I took (one last minute was not able to come), I laugh at some of the children I have who used to be really difficult in Year 1 and who are now proudly playing the recorder and turning up to a lunchtime club voluntarily on a weekly basis! I am so glad to offer them this opportunity! The audience was very warm and receptive and appreciative and the parents were really excited to see their children perform.

For TARDIS Tuesday today, I am featuring Yasmin Khan again- 13th Doctor companion.

It comes from Series 13 episode, Village of the Angels.  This was a creepy but brilliant episode with tension in bags!

She wears a navy silky floral shirt from All Saints (The Adeliza Spirit shirt) plus a brown fur coat from Zara (and NOT her usual leather jacket!) plus black buttoned down jeans, tan belt and Dr Martens Leonore chelsea boots. She wears a bright red top underneath and her  Y and Z initial necklaces.

 Not sure what is going on with my camera but it was very washed out!

With the exception of my All Saints blouse (which has a lovely jacquard fabric with nice big loose sleeves), the rest of the outfit is all other items I own anyway (the usual ASOS trousers, brown boots plus my G Star Deline coat from another Yaz outfit. I forgot to don my tan belt!

This was a good school outfit on a Spring day.

TARDIS Tuesday- Yaz Khan from Ascension of the Daleks

Hope you are well!

Oof, I feel very tired!  The Autumn-darkness is starting to get its claws into me and making me feel very fatigued and hard to get up!

However, I'm surviving!

For TARDIS Tuesday, I am making a revisit to a Yasmin Khan outfit from a recent series of Doctor Who, series 12, episode- Ascension of the Daleks, an outfit I last interpreted in February 2022

There aren't great pictures available of the outfit but I did find this Gif which was quite clear!

She wears the All Saints Balfern jacket in a red colour, an All Saints floral blouse, white vest top, black trousers and brown boots.

I wore this for school today.  I always thought it was a shame that Yaz's pretty blouses get permanently hidden under her leather All Saints jackets. I like this pretty All Saints floral blouse and very grateful that my friend Ana IDed it and sold me her spare at cost.  It's quite weird because, it was probably made in another country, sold in England, resold second hand to Ana in Russia at cost.  She then sent it back to me in England. Subsequently, I sold her one of my Yaz jumpers. I bought it in the UK, I shipped it to the US for her, it then got sent to her mum in Russia and then her mum will take it to Argentina (where she emigrated to her before the war) if she can visit her at some point. These Yaz clothes are well-travelled.

I wore it with my Clara brown jacket and a very old white vest top and my ubiquitous black ASOS trousers.

Actually, this was quite a good outfit to wear for this current weather with a light jacket. It felt light but I felt covered but breezy! A couple of compliments from children and staff.

Today was a day of Year 5 classes performing rhythm work. I am going to try and spend more time perfecting performances this year, give them a chance to reflect on their work and improve it.

I have two Gamelan rehearsals this week as we have a gig at Westminster hall next week for Indonesia day!

TARDIS Tuesday- Revolution of the Daleks florals from Yaz

Hello Campers!

I hope you are well!

I thought after a couple of weeks of Clara, it was time to pay Yaz Khan another visit. Featuring an outfit, I last wore it in February 2021, it is a fleetingly seen outfit from Revolution of the Daleks

It features a lovely floral shirt from Whistles,worn with a pink vest, black trousers and black boots together with a black leather jacket and Alex Monroe floral initials, Y and Z.

Here's my look!

 I started with the floral shirt- the same one from Whistles, which I was the first person to ID! It's such beautiful material- light and comfy.  I decided to wear it with my ubiquitous ASOS black trousers and in this case, Clarks men's black boots.

I wore this charity shopped fake leather jacket which I bought for £2.25 in my local Baptist church charity shop- I didn't have this last time I wore this outfit back in 2021.

Finally, I added my silver-card letters which I made to mimic the Alex Monroe ones. 

I was going to wear my Avon Lacey K & Z initials but I can't find the K! Oh where is it!!?!!!

2 years on, I STILL haven't seen anyone else where this outfit even though I know 2 people who own it! Tis annoying!

Weekend

Here's my Sunday outfit.

The top is 20 years old and I bought it from a stall at Spitalfields market.  Everything on the stall was white cheesecloth with printed butterflies and flowers on.  It was my dream stall at the time! I love this top. So floaty in the Summer although I think the elastic in the hem went today as it felt saggy round the bottom when it is usually fitted! 

I teamed it with this charity-shopped Fat face skirt and Seasalt white floral sandals.

 

It was a nice outfit for a hot day!!

Ah, I had a lovely weekend! 

It didn't start or end (in a sense) great though.

On my way to school, I reached into my bag to get my lanyard out.  This houses my work ID, bank card and train ticket (not always but it did then).  It wasn't there.

I was very panicked and phoned CBC who was still at home. I had left it on the coffee table at school.

He sent me photos of them.  Luckily, they let me out at my destination station and I did manage to get home ok but it didn't set me up well for the day!

That evening, I ate leftover party food (CBC had had his annual party for his work colleagues) after watering the garden. CBC was at his school's music barbecue.

The next day, I woke up at 5.30am- was not best pleased as I'd got to bed late. Tried to sleep again but eventually gave up and got up at 6.45am. Did the watering of the garden and seemed to do other things that lasted a while! Not sure what though!

Around 11am-ish, we drove to Kent to my Dad, Stepmum and sister's house to meet them. We were going to Castle Lavender farm together which is near a place called Eynsford.

We had a 2 hour slot booked to have a picnic in their Lavender fields. It was utterly beautiful and smelt amazing! I'll share some photos soon. We ended with walk around the field and then had an ice-cream. There was a girl who was having a photoshoot in the boiling hot sun. She stood in pretty much the same pose for about 2 hours.  I told CBC he shouldn't moan about taking blog photos for 2 minutes! :-)

After that, we headed back to their house and relaxed with a cup of tea and then had some more picnic food later.  Their garden is vast and beautiful so it was lovely to be there...but under an awning!

Around 9pm, CBC drove home (he was supposed to be away at Duke of Edinburgh but it was cancelled because of the heat...and instead, one of his colleagues was having a Sunday barbecue. I'd already planned to stay at Dad's.

We did Jay's Pub quiz on Youtube and then went to bed.

This morning, I woke around 6.45am (grr) and dozed till 8.15am and got up...just as my Dad was making a cup of tea downstairs.

I went for a lovely walk around their garden in my pjs and helped my Dad with some watering. 

We had a later breakfast when everyone was up and then my sister and I headed out to the pool at the gym (we were going to go to a public swimming pool but it was heaving!).

We had such a fun time swimming together and it was really quiet at the pool.

We then headed off to Sainsbury's to get some lunch (mainly a BAGUETTE!) and as usual, ended up in Sainsbury's clothing section which we both love a mooch round! I ended up buying some lilac linen/viscose dungarees! I'm not 100% convinced since I got home but loved them there (as did my sister) so I'll share them and see what you think! 

When we got home, I saw a missed call from CBC. I tried calling back but he didn't answer.

When he eventually called back, it turned out, during his morning cycle, he'd been at a place called the Rettendon turnpike (a big roundabout) and a woman had failed to give way, not noticed him and knocked him off his bike! She'd stopped as had others (she had 2 kids in the back). He was given a lift home by a nice couple who had a Jeep with room for his bike and he surveyed his injuries. He was all scraped down one side and he had scratches all over him but his knee was really hurting. He went to the Barbecue, mainly to have company and then decided to get himself checked out at A&E.  (He got home around 9pm).

I felt sick when he told me and decided to come home immediately. My sister drove me to Ebbsfleet International and I got some trains home.  Relieved CBC is ok.  Apparently, nothing is broken or fractured, just bruising.

Tomorro and Tuesday, my school is closing at 1.30pm because of the heat which I am SO glad about. As you may remember, we are all crammed into 2 buildings and 3 portakabins and everything is very squashed. The classrooms I am supposed to be in both afternoons are absolutely intolerable in the heat. It was utterly awful teaching in them last week at a lower temperature.

Style Imitating Art- Karin at the Shore- Kezzie in the Garden

 I have finally remembered to join in with Style Imitating Art. Salazar is this week's curator and she chose a beautiful watercolour:

I knew that I had a great Monsoon dress (bought second hand from ex-blogger Char) that really gave a nod to the inspiration:

The flower print, I think you will agree, bears similarities in colours to the inspiration piece

I have a white frilly hat but it looked too costumey for this outfit so I wore my Grandad's Straw school boater.

As a nod to the woman's blue part of her dress, I wore a Monsoon linen cobweb cardigan (second hand). It's such a soft and gentle cover up.

On my feet, I wore my charity-shopped sand coloured Mary Jane shoes.  I've had these about 3 years and I am gutted that I wrecked one of them last week- I was cycling and I stopped. When I put my foot back on the pedal, I misjudged where I put my foot and ended up catching the side of the shoes where the strap is in the pedal. It ripped it and is now hanging on by a thread. This is really annoying as I wear this for a lot of the warmer weather at school and they are in otherwise great condition.

I had a lovely one. On Saturday afternoon, I headed to my orchestra rehearsal with CBC and we did the concert in the evening.  The soloist for the Glazunov Violin concerto was the wonderful Elodie Chousemer-Howells who was String violinist for Young Musician of the Year in 2018. She's such a sweetie and is incredibly talented and knows exactly what she wants the orchestra to do but is very humble despite being such a star. She played amazingly!  One thing I absolutely loved was that after her practice, she joined the 1st violins for the exhausting Tschaikovsky 5th Symphony. In addition, she stuck around to watch us do the symphony in the concert.  What a lovely person as well as being so talented!

In between the rehearsal and the concert, CBC and I headed to the town we lived in when we first got married to go to our favourite Thai restaurant for dinner!

This morning, I headed back to this town to play flute for the service at my old church.  It was the first service taken by the recently licensed (as in yesterday!) Lay Minister Catherine. I ended up playing violin as well as flute and singing.  As CBC was out cycling, I stayed for the barbeque to celebrate Catherine's completion and it was lovely to stick around.  I then came home, went for a walk, did some gardening and school work.

A selection box of Spring outfits!

I've taken a few outfit photos over the last month or so of outfits I liked but I just wasn't really feeling like sharing them or posting. However, they've been hanging around in my folder so I figured I should just lump a few together to share:

This first outfit was from a meal out with CBC- and featured the dress I received as a birthday present from my Mum. I'd seen this dress in an independent boutique called Rockamilly Boutique and liked it and a few months later, saw someone had listed one brand new with tags on eBay so Mum bought it for me. It's a really cheerful, fun, musical dress and here, unusually donned a pair of tights- pink ones- they are super old and have holes in but as tights go, are quite comfy and nice.  My charity-shopped, Italian, green, men's brogues completed the look along with an old black Pearl Lowe cardigan. Expect to see me wear this at school concerts!

This next outfit, I wore for the last day of term at school for our Easter bonnet parade.

The daisy print skirt is the main star of this outfit. I bought it from Think Twice in Antwerp and it is an Austrian folk skirt with a cute white broderie anglaise petticoat lining. I wore a pretty, collared Miss Patina skirt to pick out the colour of the daisies and then a black charity shopped cardigan plus black Clarks boots. And yes, daisy earrings!

This next outfit was worn in the Easter holidays. I started with the pretty Seersucker Seasalt Cornwall skirt that my Stepmum chose for me for my birthday. I figured this claret shirt (charityshopped but not sure where from!) and tights would pick out the detail in the skirt plus my Dr Martens Joylyn teal boots.  To head out, I wore my G Star navy corduroy coat.

A final outfit is this one from March. The eagle-eyed of you may notice this is a similar print to the Seasalt skirt. CBC bought me the Autumnal dress version for Christmas. I'm not so sure these Autumnal shades suit me as well as the turquoise version but the indoor lights don't help!

TARDIS Tuesday- A second go at Yaz Khan's outfit from Ascension of the Cybermen

Today's outfit is one I fairly recently featured on the blog- around 10 months ago in April 2021. 

It was worn by Yasmin Khan in the penultimate episode of Series 12 of Doctor Who, alongside Jodie Whittaker.  The frustrating thing about Yaz's outfits is she seems to firmly keep her ubiquitous leather jacket (literally only 4 occasions I can think of where she ISN'T wearing one!) on and you can't really see all the details of her jumpers and tops which makes them really hard to identify from a small gap between sides of the jacket.  Case in point, this top.  We could tell it was floral, sort of pinky, black and white in colour, had some sort of ruffle but beyond that, not much to go on.  What length sleeves? Was it sheer? What material? What exactly was that pattern? What exactly were the colours?  Last time I put togthis outfit, I wore a short-sleeved, wll almost sleeveless blous from Dorothy [erkins with had a triple layer of ruffles.

Anyway, recently, my instagram friend Anna, from Russia, posted a picture of her weaering THE blouse!  In her search for antoher Yaz blouse (which someone else managed to recently identify, IT having a slightly less ambiguous pattern and shape especially since promo trailers had her WITHOUT her wretched jacket on), she somehow found THIS blouse in her search as it was from the samebrand- the ridiculously over-priced All Saints (beloved of Clara AND Yaz for jackets as well as Amy AND River Song!).  She happened to have snagged two at a very reasonable price (not the RRP of £120) and offered to send me one.  And so here it is!

These photos were taken as Storm Franklin was building himself up- my hair was going everywhere!

The most interesting part of this outfit is of course the floral blouse- the rest of it is the standard boring Yaz accompaniments- 

Leather jacket- check (usual Clara one which cost me £5)

Black jeans - check (usual ASOS black work trousers used for every Skinny jean reference ever in a cosplay outfit. There's no way I'm ever getting in skinny jeans)

Yaz's Dune Pacey flatform boots- check (in the alternate black colour from her burgundy ones)

And that's that!  A comfy outfit, good for a chilled day when you aren't doing too much running around or cycling!

First day back at school today was ok.  Nothing amazing but not the worst either.

What I wore for the weddings!

Thank you for your interest in my wedding outfits!

I am going to reveal which my choices were but before I do, let's remind ourselves of the choices:

Well, I can reveal that Lulu guessed my choices correctly for both venues although I did change my mind for one:

Here's what I wore for the church.

This was voted as their favourite by Lulu and Alison Dormouse.

It's the Monsoon silk dress that some thought too wintry.

You can see me outside the church here: dress is a little skew-whiff!

It was a really comfortable choice for me as the silk felt really nice and I felt comfortable with the longer length.

To accessorise it, I wore my Alex Monroe Posy Loop necklace, my Aldo sand-coloured heels and swapped to pink flat ballet pumps with ankle straps. I wore my Jenny Packham fascinator from my own wedding and earrings from my sister's wedding plus 3 sparkly beaded bracelets.

I wore my little pale blue sparkly cardigan with beading detail.

Since I stopped attending this church, they've completely changed the church grounds so they are grassed and are gardened beautifully and were in flower!

The wedding was a delight and it was so nice to spend time with old church friends.  The music we played went really well although the vicar accidentally missed out the 2nd hymn, Love Divine, so we ended up doing an instrumental version of it during the Signing of the Register which seemed to take an inordinate amount of time.

My choice for the second wedding was originally going to be number 4, the much-aligned and disliked blue lace dress (thank you to Anca and Vix for their vote for it!) but I saw most of the comments before we set off for that wedding and somehow, it put me off it a bit. It DOES have a thick lining, I should point out- it's not ACTUALLY see-through, it has a beige lining!

Instead, I decided to go for number 2, the Lala land white dress as voted favourites by Sheila, Luise, Ang, Vix, Dormouse, Phyl, Bev, Gretchen Joanna

To accessorise, I wore a charity-shopped blue linen cobweb lace cardigan from Monsoon originally and the same pumps I wore later at the previous wedding plus my Jenny Packham fascinator again.  Jewellery-wise, I wore a charity-shopped Aurora Borealis necklace and star earrings.

This wedding was also really lovely.  The brides seemed very happy and in love and as our friend is a musician herself, there was some excellent string quartet music and a great harpist!  CBC's reading went well.  One of the quartet players turned out to be a girl I used to go to Youth Orchestra with  and haven't seen for 25 years!  We had lots of fun and it was lovely to be staying at the hotel so we didn't have to traipse home!

So that's what I wore!

Laura Ashley

I mentioned my friend's Jane Austen-themed hen tea party a few weeks ago and I thought I'd show you what I wore.  Of course, it isn't Regency but I was too hot to wear my proper empire line dresses so I decided to wear one of my Mum's vintage Laura Ashley dresses that she'd brought over for me to have, the day before the hen tea.

Sadly, they don't fit her anymore.

I wore this one which is made of such beautiful-quality cotton lawn and teamed it up with some un-Regency sandals and a charity-shopped cotton reversible hat.

Mum also took this picture of me before I got changed! I thought I'd show you the lovely hat that Vix sent me when we did a dress swap! Isn't it a beauty!

TARDIS Tuesday- Clara's outfit from Kill The Moon

Hi there,

Hope you are well.  I've got a stonker of a headache tonight and I had 3 good lessons with children today and one not so good one (it's that cocky, end-of-year-6 "We're so funny and cool and won't listen," combined with obnoxious difficult class anyway).

An annoying Scrabble moment earlier- I had a word which if I placed it, would have got me 86 points from only placing 5 letters- my opponent placed something there for a measly 38 points. Grr! I've also been playing against Beethoven!  He's an AI player but he's very, very good! It's funny because I am doing some work on Beethoven with Year 6.

Anyway, onto today's outfit.

This is worn by Clara Oswald in an episode in Series 8 entitled Kill the Moon.   It's a kind of ridiculous episode in which the premise is that the moon is in fact an EGG which hatches into a creature, which lays another egg! 

For a lot of the episode, she wears a red/orange spacesuit but when she's not out on the Moon surface, she wears this black and orange floral smock shirt dress along with a tan belt, black tights and a pair of wing-tipped brogue shoes from Dune.

And here's my version this time:

A fellow Doctor Fan and cosplayer had bought this dress second-hand from another cosplayer but it didn't fit her and she was desperate to sell it so asked me if I was interested in it. I was tempted and she offered it to me for a reasonable price (not a reseller price) so I decided to give it a go!

I was surprised when I received it as I thought it would be a cotton material but it's some sort of synthetic.  I wore it to church and found it really comfortable though, as always, tall girl problems with it being very short on me!

I was able to wear it with the screen accurate Bertie heel lace up shoes featured below.  Clara wears them with a few outfits so it was nice to be able to team them up.

A year 5 girl stopped me in the playground this morning and told me I looked beautiful!  I was rather surprised and touched! Much as it's nice to be told someone likes YOU or something you've done more, it's still nice to be told that!

I think I'll get my hair cut in Half term when I visit Northumberland.  Even though I'm finding it a pain being long, I will miss the length!

Tomorrow morning, I have my first new Junior Recorder club starting. It's going to be weird not starting in September but also doing it in the Dining Hall. Not quite sure how the music stand situation is going to work out yet!  Ah well, we'll give it a go!

TARDIS Tuesday - Yasmin Khan's outfit from Ascension of the Cybermen & The Timeless Children

Greetings Friends,

I've had a great day, having met my friend M in Southend to do a massive walk along the seafront all the way to Benfleet and back to Southend Victoria (plus a little look round Debenhams)- including my mile walk to and from the station from home, I've walked about 17 miles today and MY, my feet are hurting as are the backs of my calves and thighs. We had a jolly lunch in Leigh-on-Sea in Stop the World Cafe- we got a lovely outside table and were really lucky as they are usually rammed but were happily fairly quiet. I had Sweetcorn and Beetroot fritters with Avocado salsa (with cherry tomatoes, onions, coriander) and a side of Halloumi plus a Smoothie. Healthy AND delicious.  

Realising though that I walked the 17 miles with only this in my stomach, having managed to skip breakfast due to waking late.  By the time I got home, I was SO happy.

Managed to buy 3 very nice bowls in Debenhams (it's closing down) to replace the two that had an accident last week.  Very similar style too. I also bought 2 unwired bras and a pack of knickers AND a 750 killner jar full of sweets!

It was SO nice to see M and have a proper catch-up.  The brilliant thing was, despite it being a really lovely day, Southend seafront was SUPER quiet and we barely met anyone on the way.  The Southend schools are back now but we didn't see lots of day trippers.

CBC came home with newly chopped hair. He was so happy to have it chopped though he's really unhappy with how grey it looks!

Yesterday was also lovely as I got the train over (and cycled) to my Mum's and we ate KFC in her garden!  I love going to her garden as there's always something lovely to look at.  Saw lots of Goldfinches on the feeder too PLUS, she gave me something exciting which I will post about soon!

Onto TARDIS Tuesday.

I wore this on Sunday- for gardening and a brief walk mainly.

It is an outfit worn by Yaz Khan in the penultimate AND final episodes of series 12 of Doctor Who.

Let's have a look at it:

She wears black trousers with a light black white and red/pink ruffle neck blouse with a white vest top (with lace detailing) underneath.  Her ubiquitous leather jacket (All Saints of course) is worn on top and I'm not sure what she wears on her feet.

The costume is not IDed at all so I have been scouting around for alternatives.

Here's what I came up with:

As usual, my same black trousers get dragged out and my Dune Pacey boots as standard.  I added my Clara River Island leather jacket which gets dragged out for any Leather Jacket look.  I wore a Primark lace-trimmed vest underneath and wore a Dorothy Perkins ruffle necked blouse on top.  It's not the best match for Yaz's but I like it and it will do. It's light and comfortable to wear which is the aim.

I added my cubic Zirconia studs as usual and tied my hair back trying to avoid my usual middle parting.

TARDIS Tuesday- Yaz Khan's parting outfit in Revolution of the Daleks

 This week for TARDIS Tuesday, I have something very cool!

The most recent episode shown, Revolution of the Daleks, I featured Yaz's main outfit from the episode in the new year.  Right at the end of the episode, she donned a beautiful floral shirt, along with her ubiquitous All Saints leather jacket as well as her new Alex Monroe Y and Z necklaces, some jeans and, I suspect, her Dune Pacey brogue boots as well as a pink vest top underneath for modesty.

It was a really pretty outfit for Yaz and a few of us really wanted to know where her shirt was from.

I was incredibly lucky, on an eBay search of the rather generic, 'Floral shirt' in that I found this shirt! I looked at it closely and realised it was one and the same shirt, even though the source photos on eBay were terrible and didn't really look like it unless you properly zoomed in!

I ordered it apprehensively and was excited to discover it was correct! It was pretty incredible because one of my friends searched for it after realising I had found out it from was from Whistles, and there are no shop source photos of it to be found on the internet- just the photos of the one I found!

I decided to wear it this Sunday as it was such a beautiful sunny and warm day.  I wore it with a very old but incredibly comfy baggy Cath Kidston red vest underneath and my ubiquitous black trousers.  On top, I wore my All Saints denim jacket and my Dune black Pacey boots on the bottom.  After tying the sides of my hair up (which I like doing as I think it suits me!), I added my home-made (out of shiny silver card) Y and Z necklaces

The shirt will be a good one for going into Spring as it is very lightweight but a good cover up and I can see it going with lots of different outfits in my wardrobe.

So, as far as I see it, I am the first person to recreate this Yaz outfit, which is pretty cool!

The first day was hard.  The dreaded child stayed out with a TA (as it was deemed better to ease him back in) but another child (the sibling of a child who was in my very first class 14 years ago...I still have the family for another 7 years...) was VERY trying. I was incredibly patient with him and managed to get him to do some work but he is so very, very difficult and has already decided he wants to be kicked out of school- so you can imagine it was a little demotivating at times!  The kind TA who was with me was sweet and said that he had responded very well to me compared to other times she was in which was nice of her to say but I did have to give him a LOT of attention.  The nice thing is, I got to know a few of the other children much better than I've ever had time for before (there were 10 of them) and that was really nice. We did some lovely English work this morning and I was really pleased with their work-so that was good.  They also did well in their music lesson which again, was nice!

At lunchtime, I went into Lidl and did a big shop which mainly consisted of masses of vegetables (loose), cheese galore, bread and some flower and vegetable seeds as well as Smoked trout (for Mum as well as us!) How on earth it came to £48, I do not know!

Back to creating the online learning tomorrow- no early train, praise the Lord!
