10 things I'm thankful for this week

 10 things I'm thankful for:

1. Wonderful gig last night at Hackney Baths with Lila Cita Gamelan. I'd had a worrying, anxious day (not for myself) and the venue was brilliant, audience super friendly and I had a great chat to my friend Liz. A ginger cat made an appearance in our set and my suling solo went well. Just what I needed to take a moment out of my brain!

2. Found a great Refill shop on the way to the venue. Stocked up on some Linguine, noodles, Paprika, pretzels and even got a Vegan Choc ice - lolly in compostable packaging.

3. N, one of Sad Frog 's crew, came to see me in the music room at the end yesterday. I was sorting out beaters and she came in and immediately started helping me (she always used to do this at the end of terms) and it felt like last year. I'm amazed she's still showing such loyalty to come and visit me. She carries SadFrog with her in her blazer!

4. I have Madeira to look forward to even if I'm the only one who is excited right now!

5. The sun is shining.

6. We can take a bus practically all the way to the airport. (apart from a mile walk and 7mins on the train) It costs £3 one way. That is amazing!

7. Started my favourite project of the academic year in school - Vltava, the journey of a river.

8. Went to watch the LSO with my kids at school on Monday. As it was Eid, I didn't have to go back and teach any lessons once we got back.

9. Our cherry blossom tree has bloomed!

10. Was asked last-minute if I can provided some sort of performance element to a VE Day assembly for after Easter. Proud to say, at 12 hours noticed, I found a song for the whole school, taught it in 3 assemblies and then found a song for choir and taught it so we are good to go for the performance!

What are you thankful for?

Stay tuned for a special blog post tomorrow morning!!!

  5. The venue of your Gamelan concert brings back memories for me. I used to take LB to some Surestart activities here back in the day when she was a toddler. It's also the location of our local Library of Things, where I've borrowed the odd item from.
