The feline symphony orchestra

My Mum came over today (Sunday) after I was at church.  We went for a walk in the park together which was lovely. She's so knowledgeable about trees and plants.  It was also nice to talk to her about house woes.  She's also a very willing blog photographer. There is possibly an answer to my prayers regarding the house situation- I'll tell you a bit more when I know more, see if it works out.

I love this Miss Patina shirt I bought in November- it's so fun- as a music teacher, it's my perfect item! I just wish it wasn't handwash only! We all know that means it will spend ages in the washing basket!
(the trousers were charityshopped around a decade ago, hat is from Accessorize, boots from Clarks, brooch and handbag are handmade!)

As we walked through the woodland in the park, we saw this huge rootball! It's enormous! I'd love it if we could see the networks of roots of trees underground like we can see roads on Google Earth- I bet it would be an interesting story!

  1. Handwashihg is such a pain! When I've had handwash only items, I've just put them in the washing machine on a cold quick wash (15 or 30 minutes washes, depending on the options available) and everything has always come out fine! Though please don't blame me if you try it and it goes horribly wrong ;) !!

  3. The cat collar is so sweet. Just curling around like a real cat would. And I'm so happy that you included a close up of your daisy hat. It is as cute as a kitten.

  5. I'm so with you on the old handwash. I've a dress in the laundry pile at the moment that's handwash and everytime I lift the laundry basket lid I hear a little voice saying 'I hope I'll be picked out today to be washed' - ha, ha and then the lid goes back down. But it's a beautiful blouse and perfect for you. Sending lots of good thoughts your way re your house situation.

  6. I love that shirt and It makes me think of the scene in the movie, The Aristocats when the cats were making real upbeat music in the old abandoned house. I love that movie...

I'm so glad your mom came for a visit at this time. I hope that your new arrangement will be a good one. I can't wait to hear what you came up with.

That's quite a big tree root ball.
    Have a great week.
    Hugs,

  7. Your hat and top are so adorable! My mum always knew everything about trees and flowers and such too. She often quizzed me on what was what. Now that she is gone I am useless on the topic. What sort of flower is that? A red one thank you very much :)

  11. Yes, handwashing. Sometimes I'll put them in cold water on the gentle cycle in my machine. I know, gasp! I do not like handwashing either. What a lovely mum to take photos for you. And that's promising news about your living arrangements. I'm cheering for you both.

  13. Your feline sweater is so cute! And somehow, I missed the fact that you taught music. Such a wonderful vocation and SO very important! I would love to hear more about your music teaching. I had extremely creative music teachers in my younger years and I'm sure that it helped me along in my love of music which still thrives today. Your hat looks so soft and you look so pretty in it!
    Have a wonderful week. <3
