Hello there!
Welcome to the first edition of 5 brooches for 2016. I received a fair few brooches for Christmas (mwa ha, the news is spreading!) so we shall be continuing for longer (I still had some to share anyway, but not worn them!)
The first one was a very surprise present that came through the post! Hazel sent me a parcel of joy including this wonderful knitted brooch which she embellised with buttons! It went perfectly with my sparkly blue top!CBC spent all of December saying I had too many brooches and when he kept saying he didn't know what to buy me and I mentioned I liked Erstwilder brooches, I thought there was no way he was buying me any but to my delight, this message in a bottle turned up inside a velvet bag inside a plastic noodle microwave bowl! Acrylic brooches are my favourite kind, like this!
If you saw my Boxing Day post, you've already seen R2D2 who I made specially to go and see Star Wars!
Glittery cactus brooch went very well against a black polka dot background!
Ok, so it isn't a brooch- I've not been really wearing them much over the holiday but I did want to include my icicle necklace which I've worn alot, alongside the Tatty Devine and Punky pins snowflake necklace. This is what I've been wearing INSTEAD of the fifth brooch!
What about you? What brooches have you worn recently?

Linking up to Visible Monday with Patti and #I will wear what I like with Catherine at Not dressed as lamb

yay, what a super R2D2 and the message in a bottle is great!
ReplyDeleteWell done to CBC for an excellent surprise. What a great brooch.
ReplyDeleteYour icicle necklace deserves a place in this post, it's fab.

Those are great - I love the icicles and the message in a bottle!
ReplyDeleteOoh, the knitted brooch is gorgeous! Also love the icicles.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I rarely wear brooches, although my SiL obviously thinks I do as she often sends me brooches as presents. I'm never quite sure how to "style" them.
ReplyDeleteI loved your Star Wars outfit!
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely selection of brooches. I've been wearing a few, fully inspired by these posts of yours.
i had a thought about brooches that tilt forwards... instead of pinning side to side, would it work if the pin went vertically? I've been meaning to put this theory to the test!
What a great surprise that CBC bought you an Erstwilder brooch for Christmas. That is so sweet of him. He knows you very well.
ReplyDeleteI haven't wore a brooch in a long time because I seldom go anywhere lately and when I do, I'm always in a rush because of farm work gets in the way.
Hugs,
JB
I do love your glittery cactus! xx
ReplyDeleteThe knitted/button one is just lovely!
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to work brooches into my outfits! I love the message in a bottle brooch, great choice!
ReplyDeleteWe had a bric a brac sale to raise funds at work. Some of the brooches donated by the old ladies were quite beautiful. I don't seem to be able to carry them off though.
ReplyDeleteFabulous - I love the R2D2! and all of them. xox

The message in a bottle one is very cool. And for couples there could be a real message attached, something the other person can always think of when they see it, something just between them. I thought sure those clear ones were teeth and I was a bit worried for you after your recent dental drama. May I take a moment and say...WHEW!

Another great collection of brooches, Kezzie. How thoughtful of your friends and family to give you more for Christmas! I have quite a few of my mother's brooches. I look at them as a reminder of her, but don't add them to an outfit. Maybe I should enjoy them more by wearing them? Happy new year to you and CBC.
ReplyDeletebeautiful collection of unique brooches:)
ReplyDeleteI really like the first knitted one and R2D2 is amazing! I found a little penguin brooch at the weekend and thought of you - I'm going to start wearing it :) x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous all round :-) xo Jazzy Jack
ReplyDeleteI used to be so into brooches, I haven't wore them so much recently. I should get into it again. I love the R2D2 brooch you made and the cactus brooch as well :)
