I'm currently battling through my nativity script for school! I've used the same one for the past 2 years. Before that, I used one by another member of staff. Trying to make it a sort of 'correspondence' script so all the readers are reading written accounts by someone, e.g. Melchior's travel blog, Angel FM, Herod's top secret diary, letter from Mary to Elizabeth etc! Getting that irritated, 'not quite right' but ahrgh!' feeling! Need to just get on and do it, finish it, be done with it but starting to wonder if I am making a rod for my old back, trying to be too 'clever' or 'different' and should just give up! Either way, it is on the 17th December so I had better get those scripts out to children pronto!
I'm not feeling whole imaginative today- slightly grouchy, suggesting I should just go to bed! I just spent ages notating a recorder duet of 'In the Hall of the Mountain King' for two keen year 6 girls who wanted to play it when I should be doing numerous other things!
Hence, sharing another outfit post! Doesn't take too much thought and the photos were already sitting in a draft!
Various blog friends have talked about finding German vintage items in charity shops recently and this sheep at night jumper was yet another 'Bought with Sophie and Hazel' find back in May. It was only a pound on the Salvation Army sale rack in Ipswich so I saw its Christmas jumper potential immediately! The label looks like a vintage one made in Germany (not sure if it said East or West without rummaging through the washing basket)
I wore it on Saturday for a walk into town and cleaning, tidying, marking and reading day. It worked with fleecy leggings, sheepskin boots and the quintessential winter fabric- brushed cotton flannel tartan! And I adjusted the flower brooch on this hat I received for Christmas last year to try and release its inner cloche! It's not necessarily a 'stylish' outfit, but I think rather cute and comfy!
The garden is a total mess! I cannot believe how windy and rainy it has been. I looked out my spare room window and saw that all the felting on the shed roof is coming off and waving in the wind. Which means all my craft stuff is probably mouldering. And the drumkit...
Better get back to that script..

You know what I am going to say:
Ahem...
P.S.
In case, you missed it, I have entered Lady Vintage's Hall of Fame photo competition with my outfit and I would be SO grateful if you liked my outfit out of those who have entered enough to give it a like on Facebook. If your husband, boyfriend, cat, dog or significant other felt so inclined to take a look too, (like a few have!), I would be very grateful! Especially as I am STILL 100 behind the leader (but working slowly towards second place) Waaaaah!!!!

If you wanted to share the album too, I wouldn't be adverse to that!!!

Kezzie, nice outfit for the cool weather. I Iove, love the hat and I think it looks so good on you. I'm also wearing a hat in this cooler weather. It keeps me warm.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you're feeling the crunch for getting your nativity script done in time. It sounds quite beautiful and I hope you can get it done in time for the kids to learn.
You re so creative, I know you'll do a fantastic job with it. Ask Jesus to help you and trust that He will deliver.
I'm wishing you many more votes on the Pink Alert project. Hang in there.
Hugs,
JB
Very cute look indeed. That top is so fun and you are so sweet in your hat. Very nice to see those legs a bit. Been missing them. As for your script, the good news is that the source material is pretty wonderful. They even refer to it as The Good News sometimes. I cannot currently recall if you have read my new poem on music but if you have not you might enjoy it. Anytime I think music you come to mind.
ReplyDeleteAha, yes I recognise that jumper! I think it's a very cute and cosy outfit <3
ReplyDeleteKeep going with your script, I bet it's going to be awesome, you're so creative :) xx
Oh and I had to just get C to vote as I don't have a FB of my own xx
That script sounds like a challenge!
ReplyDeleteThat jumper is fab, just the kind of thing that flies off my rails! Vintage West German clothing is so well made and the 1980s items were really flamboyant and fun. The vintage traders that buy from wholesalers (not us!) tend to have a lot on their rails as they're bought in containers from Germany which would explain the influx in the chazzas - stuff people have bought from vintage fairs and got bored with. xxx
PS Sorry, the hat went to an Indian student at Liverpool University, she was mad on Sherlock Holmes!
I LOVE the script idea- a brilliant take on the story - I imagine Joseph to be a laconic sort of guy - I think he would use Twitter. And the shepherds would all be on Facebook with pictures of silly sheep antics and the baby...
ReplyDeleteOh, what a lovely sheep jumper!
ReplyDeleteOh I hope you got both the script and yourself put to bed! AS a parent I like both the quirky takes on the original and just the bog standard tell it like we know version of the Nativity. Goodness knows, it will become as rare a thing as the story of Abraham and Isaac- that one is my particular bug bear as you can't really do Wilfrid Own without a deciding smattering of Old Testament stories! I'm delighted fabulous teachers like you are still shining the star light x
ReplyDeleteLovely jumper
ReplyDeleteJulie xxxxx
The script sounds like it's a challenge, but I bet by the time you've weaved your magic it will sparkle.
ReplyDeleteCute woolly jumper.

I hope you managed to get the script all sorted! I LOVE this look on you Kezzie, the jumper is adorable. And I hope you're getting lots of votes on your contest entry too! - Tasha
ReplyDeleteJust hopping back across to say thank you for leaving such lovely comments! - Tasha
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit Kezzie, I need to find my shirt out like yours x
ReplyDeleteOh Kezzie - do please send me a copy of the script when it is done - it sounds brilliant!
ReplyDeletehi beautiful! I really like that sheep jumper, it is adorable. I also have one German vintage item, it is a midi skirt and its label says 'made in west germany'. This outfit is adorable. I really like that tartan skirt....you really look lovely!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some rest soon...I often get myself in trouble trying to do too much at once...but I think it is a good sign if we have the will and the motivation to multitask and do as much as we can...even if it can be tiring.
The cosy jumper and flirty tartan skirt is the perfect winter outfit! I expect the jumper is West German (ie. pre-1989) as East Germany didn't manufacture and export too much before the fall of the wall. I see a lot of German pieces at vintage fairs and on Ebay, and Vix's explanation makes sense of that.
ReplyDeleteYour script sounds like a fantastic idea, don't give up! xxx
I remember that jumper! Nice to see it being worn :) Looks lovely too.
ReplyDeleteHope the script went well..?
Hi Kezzie! I think your sweater is adorable - as is the whole cozy look. I have voted for you, but now I am rounding up the cats : >

Kezzie you look cute as a button today! I love your ready for Christmas jumper and can see there's a tartan theme linking a few of us up by chance which feels nice. Keep going with the script and don't give up on your ideas - that whole trying to be too clever is a place I know, but you'll make it work and that's what makes you, you.
ReplyDeleteAnna xx
I love and WANT THAT JUMPER.
ReplyDeleteLoveeeeeeeeeeeeeee and besos
