Today, I am posting brooches from a weeks ago or so. I like this set, they are a real mixed bag or quirk and simplicity
This jewelled tortoise came from acharity-shop of course! He's quite heavy but I like the fact he is quite true to colour BUT sparkly!
Cunningly worn in conjunction on a Thursday, this recorder brooch and drum brooch signalled that I had Recorder Club AND drumming club at school! The kids in both of those got it instantly! Ha! The recorder is a really old one I've had since I was 11,so it is well over 23 years old! The drum came from Hexham Vintage Emporium.
Here are my Ladybird like owl collar clips again but this time, I decided to wear them as cardigan-clips which worked much better as they looked less inebriated than last week's collar adventure!
Last, but not least, here is the Jammy Dodger Brooch I bought at the Steamunk Essexextraordinaire last week. It is VERY heavy!
Any favourites here? Bought any recently? Do share!
xx
P.S.
In case, you missed it, I have entered Lady Vintage's Hall of Fame photo competition with my outfit and I would be SO grateful if you liked my outfit out of those who have entered enough to give it a like on Facebook. If your husband, boyfriend, cat, dog or significant other felt so inclined to take a look too, (like a few have!), I would be very grateful!

Hi Kezzie, the turtle is my favourite and the cherries next. The cherries would look cool on a tardis blue hat. Maybe not a Dr Who prop but blue and red looks so good on you.

I love your sparkly turtle brooch, and the recorder and drum are perfect for you!
ReplyDeleteRe. Clara - I totally was not expecting her to die on Saturday! Everything I've read online (which is admittedly not very much, but still...) seems to say that was her last episode, but I don't know, it seems like such a 'normal' death for Doctor Who (as normal has having a raven fly into your body and turn your life-force into black smoke that comes out of your mouth!), I do suspect she's in an alternate dimension somewhere!
What a fab collection of brooches you have! I love the cherries and they look great with your blue cropped jacket. I never think to wear a brooch, but you might have started something...
ReplyDelete'Liked' on Facebook, good luck in the competition.
ReplyDeleteOh that cookie at the end looks so tasty. What? Of course I read the post. Why? Actually my favorite is the turtle. I have a fondness for those shell dwellers.

I have serious cherry envy, this is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteNever seen a recorder brooch before, no surprise it's here I saw it though!

Jammy dodger! :-D
ReplyDeleteThe recorder is very well preserved for its age :-)
Oh wow, I love the tortoise (of course!) but the recorder and drum are so perfect. I really must take your lead and get wearing some of my brooches.
ReplyDeleteThe last one is fab, so funny. I love it :))
ReplyDeleteThose oversized cherries are fabulous and they look brilliant on that cute cropped jacket. xxx
ReplyDeleteOh Kezzie! I love your brooch posts and I'm so envious of your collection. I'm not kidding, I have about 5! I thought of you last week when I found a sail boat brooch for 49p in Age UK! I was so excited to find it!

I love all of these. Your brooch collection is stunning!
ReplyDeleteYou are right, this was an even better than usual brooch week! I have a turtle ring that is quite like that brooch and his wee arms and legs move! I absolutely love the cherry one (well done CBC) but I do suspect it would sit inappropriately on me at all times as there's not much 'appropriate' space in that area on me! I hadn't thought of that until you pointed it out. I'm soooo behind on blog commenting/reading this week and still haven't emailed you back, sorry...it'll happen!
ReplyDeleteyou have the most amazing brooches!
