Red-haired angel

Saluations Mes Amigos suss (mixture of languages there!)!

I'd never usually consider posing on my blog in a hoodie, but you know, with TARDIS Tuesday, I'm all up for the variety! So, above, you see Amy Pond from the episode, Time of the angels and Flesh and stone- two episodes featuring the scary weeping angels. Simple enough to recreate from what I have already- red hoodie, black mini-skirt, grey tights, Converse trainers, brown headband, forgot the black socks.

But any reference to Amy Pond cosplay (what dressing up as a character is now apparently known as) seems to say that the red hair is obligatory.  So..... da naaaaaaaaa!!!!

"Gasp!!! She has red hair!!" whispers Amy!

Alas, I have always wanted bright red or genuinely ginger hair but I was not blessed with those genes.  I rather like it!

CBC's not at all keen on dyed hair so I haven't really gone there...though wish I could!

I discovered I could mess around with my hair colour in Pic Monkey- you can pay for the premium service to use the hair dye function but I discovered you can use the lipstick function to equally good measure!

Back to school today! We had a rather busy weekend of cleaning and cooking which I will tell you more about soon but all to good purpose.  Rather nervous about tomorrow- I am running a parents' workshop for our parents in Reception to teach them some songs and games and ideas for how they can use music with their children.  Not done anything like this before so still doing my usual procrastination as I fret over it. Of course I know it will be fine but you know, I don't know WHAT exactly what they do with their kids in any way musically and don't want to patronize them in anyway!!! Also, have not taught their kids music as I don't teach Reception this year- I am very sad about this fact!

Hope all is well with you.
xx

  1. Oh, wow, a parents' workshop... it will all be fie, cause you are a very caring and loving person, not to say competent, I am sure - well, I saw you playing, I am sure as a teacher you are perfect as well! I loved the inspiration and actually you look more beautiful than the original, I loved your outfit! Red is my favorite color and I have kind of reddish natural hair - not completely, but kind of a dark red shade, and when the day is very bright or sunny, you can then see it - so what can I say, I loooooved your red hair, you could well wear that color! It looks lovely on you, really! Good luck tomorrow, but I am sure all will be great!

  5. Very cute outfit! I love Amy Pond (my favorite companion, I can't lie), and I think you've done her justice. And the Weeping Angels are the only villains that I ever found really, really scary.

  6. Oh, man! And here I thought you'd committed to the red hair. That's some pretty expert photo manipulation, my friend. I was almost convinced. But I agree with Pom Pom - you look loads prettier with dark hair. Thanks for linking as always! :D

  7. You had me all the way fooled which, since you do not know how slow I am, I would be very proud of if I were you :) Truly thought you had gone red and totally in support of it. You look even more the lovely sprite that usual with those faux crimson locks. It even distracted me from your stunning legs in those tights...briefly :) Enjoyed them so much, dear! Thank you for sharing, you know I appreciate it!! xo

  10. You had me fooled, I thought you'd dyed it! Lovely colour you chose.
Hope all goes well for your workshop. Your pupils love your lessons so I'm sure the parents will too. I would have loved the opportunity of something like that when mine we're that young. They must be interested to come along to the workshop so I'm sure they'll be eager for any help.

  20. Teehee - I love that you found a thrifty alternative for photoshopping. Something tells me the lipstick-instead-of-hair-dye trick wouldn't work quite as well in real life :p I hope the parents class goes well! xxx

  21. Oh that lipstick function trick is nifty! I'll have to play around with it next time I edit my pics. Hope all went well with your workshop.

Excellent! I used to dye my hair red. I always went with an almost purple burgundy because it suits my coloring. My husband loved it, but the upkeep was difficult and expensive.
