I wore this outfit in a bid to wear a light dress in a wintery way!
Do you know, these tights are ancient- I've honestly had them at least a decade. I always end up as Nora Batty but they are so soft and cosy and not too tight (if that makes sense with tights- knitted ones usually feel tight! and I shall be sad if they come to their end. I own probably another 30 pairs of tights (as in ones that are long term rather than evil flimsies that die after a few turns). They're totally frumpy but I don't care- they do what they say on the tin- keep my legs warm!
Do you have a favourite pair of tights at all or am I the only one
AND, because I am nosy, what is your FAVOURITE tights colour/pattern?
xx
Ah tights, a subject near and dear to my heart :) First though, very sweet and pretty dress and no tights are frumpy on those legs! Enjoyed that shot very much, dear!! I actually have a top 5 tights color list. As you may recall from my lengthy and excited comment a few moons ago, mustard are my favorite. So much so that I still keep an eye on my inbox in vain hopes of wonderful surprises that you might be kind enough to share. Honestly the rest of the top 5 varies in order but not in colors. Light blue, light green, red, white and pink. Pattered tights are also very fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHa Sham, I am not sharing random outtakes of me in tights with you- not happening! :-)
DeleteI like your top five, I had a really nice pair of pale blue tights that I wore once and then accidently washed all my tights in the bathtub together, left them soaking for some hours and dye from a dark pair stained them! Shame
Forget the colour/pattern - over a decade?! Girl, I wish I had the ability to freeze time and be the same size I was ten years ago to be able to fit into decade-old tights! Argh! So jealous of you right now! :D
ReplyDeleteThat said, I love me a good pair of plaid, but my go-to color is always black. I have yet to venture into colored tights, primarily because I'm so fun-sized and anything that bifurcates my body visually is just a big no-no. So unless I buy shoes the same color as my colored tights (so I can have a lean, uninterrupted column of color on my lower half), then black tights pour moi!
Would it make you awfully cross if I said I wear a dress that I've had since I was 15! My size really hasn't changed much since then. X
DeleteWhat a pretty dress! It's amazing you've had those tights for 10 years! I hope they last another 10 for you!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tight color would be black of course and no dear lady, I do not own a pair of tights but I wear black long johns to keep me warm under my jeans.
ReplyDeleteA pretty cheery dress.
Hugs,
JB
Black are my default colour but I can't resist coloured ones!x
DeleteThat's a very pretty dress. I very much like flowers on a darker background.
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of tights I'm wearing right now which I have had for about the same amount of time you've had yours. They're very warm, very soft and like you say, not too tight. They are also full of repairs and I now have a humungous hole in the heel which I need to repair, but I absolutely cannot throw them away! I found another similar pair in Sainsbury's but they didn't go past my knees and these would go right up to my armpits if I so desired, and I'm tall!
Yay for tights with longevity! These ones are similar, lovely and long!x
DeleteMy favourite tights are by Henry Holland and have star shapes all over them in a much finer denie . One year I'm going to wear them for an entire summer and see if I can get a starry tan xxx
ReplyDeleteHa, I thought similarly about a star cut out backed dress!x
DeleteI love that dress.

I have some purple tights that I wore when I was a birthday party clown. I think I still have them!
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit Kezzie, aww I hate chucking tights away, I keep all my thick ones till they eventually hole :)
ReplyDeleteI too have lots of ancient tights. Black - and deep claret, navy, bottle green - also some purple ones. But not brown. I dont know why but I dont like opaque brown ones.I wish I knew where I bought the claret ones, they are by far the most comfortable, best fit. of all. No Batty-ness!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty dress. Tights and pantyhose are my favorite items in the world. I have many beloved ones. Bright colors and basic suntan appeal to me. When I was a boy, my first secret purchase was a pair of tan pantyhose which I kept in a coffee-can buried in the backyard. I was probably around 10 years old.
ReplyDeleteYes I will have some of the sweet roses. This is definitely one of my favourite dresses of yours, it is absolutely stunning. It is completely my style.
ReplyDeleteYour cheery, rosy outfit is so cute, Kezzie!
ReplyDeleteBlack tights used to be a favorite of mine. But ~ I'm at that time in life when I deal with personal chinooks, so staying warm is not a problem!
But you'd have a hard time separating me from my Suntan pantyhose. My first year in university we were still wearing stockings with garters! I hated garters! Why men find them sexy I will never understand. I guess they didn't have to wear them! Tights and pantyhose are two of the best inventions ever for wearing in cold countries. May your favorite tights last forever!
What a pretty dress, you look lovely!
ReplyDeleteMy tights last for years, too. I've a couple of those knitted pairs my Mum bought me at least ten years ago. I only wear them under maxis though, they ain't pretty! xxx

ReplyDeleteFabrizia - Cosa mi metto???
Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty dress. Cheerful too, much needed at this time of year!
Nora Batty black opaques...so comfy at first...then about a foot of extra tight has to be tucked under my feet! Can't bear to throw them away, that'd be wasteful. (My mums' words ringing forever in my ears!!)
After years in opaque tights, I've become a convert to leggings, socks and boots. This keeps me nice and warm through the winter months (cos my classroom is an isolated block well away from the main part of school). I normally pop on a dress and smart waterproof coat. I'd love to wear a jacket - but it's just not warm enough at this stage in the year. Jx
ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous frock, Kezzie, can't beat a floral print!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE my tights, I have far too many, all different colours and patterns - don't make me choose a favourite, that's like trying to pick a favourite dress, or song, or book, or child! xxx
Ooh, what exactly is a bid? It sounds like a lovely occasion, especially since you're dressed so nicely!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is such a pretty print and you did a nice job pairing it with the belt and scarf. As for tights, I wear mine out all the time haha, but I love just simple knit black ones to keep me warm!
I only own 1 pair that I've never worn. It's not to cold in California (USA) so I never have a time to wear them :(
ReplyDeleteThat dress is a little gem x
