Hi there!
Isn't it irritating when you buy something expensive and then the wretched thing goes into the sale for a fraction of the price! I bought this skirt with 20percent off but now it is about 65% of the original price. BUT, unlike those situations where you have not worn it much, this skirt has been on me at least once a week since I bought it (hmmm, maybe I should wash it!) and I have a lot of clothes so this is pretty miraculous!

Decided to team it up in yet another new way (never worn it with same items and wish I'd taken a picture of how I wore it on Monday as it was much better) with my second hand vintage leg-of-mutton blouse, second-hand (but new) abalone shell necklace, turquoise beret, ubiquitous black tights and my other MUCH-worn purchase- Turquoise DMS. This has been the week of trousers for me, except for the aforementioned Monday. I set out a skirt outfit EVERY day, but waking up late, feeling tired and grumpy- all I wanted was baggy woollen trousers and a novelty knitted jumper- cats, foxes, rabbits- they've all been out to play this week)
Have longed for the weekend this week. All week. Weary, yet had positive lessons, all of them so far this week: Stravinsky's Petruska recreation with the year 6's on Monday pretending to be Stravinsky myself at the start, talking like a Meercat; learning to sing and dance a Polka song and talk about Erik Satie's Jack in the Box with year 1's; comparing Bartok (Bagpipes from Mikrokosmosen) and Bach (Gavotte) with year 4 with 8 year old boys stating that they really enjoyed the Bach over the Bartok and giving cohesive and great reasons for it (interesting the girls preferred Bartok); year 2's who were making up their own lyrics for a song about baking cakes; Year 3 practising writing the pitches on a stave and learning to play Samba CA on their recorders. Now I just have Year 5 (writing their own sea shanties) tomorrow with one more Year 2 cake song lesson and a writing comprehension test. But I am still waiting for that weekend...
xx
(in case you hadn't guessed, this be scheduled!)
Good for you! You deserve a nice weekend! Our teachers have Monday off for Martin Luther King Day.
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is adorable!
Lovely outfit - you look amazing as always Kezzie! I promise I will send your letter off soon too, I've had a busy week so I'm behind on replying to letters. Sounds like you've had a busy one too - enjoy your weekend and if you want to take part in the Me Time tag too - it was good fun! - Tasha
ReplyDeleteSounds like you'll get your monies worth out of the shirt. It's lovely. Nothing worse than having nothing to wear things with. I currently have two skirts that I have to pair them with, it's frustrating as I'm trying not to buy anything new!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely weekend x
I'm glad it's Friday for you. Teaching music sounds like hard work. It's not as relaxing as listening to a magnificent piece of music by an accomplished musician.
ReplyDeleteCute skirt and mustard blouse looks like they belong together. I think that you should work for a fashion industry.
I hope that you get a pleasant weekend with no obligations of any kind. Just some time to relax and enjoy the moment NOW with CBC of course.
Hugs,
JB
.
I do love that skirt! It is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI hate it when that happens that items go on super sale after I've paid more. Lucky for me I was within the allotted time to get a price adjustment this week with Anthro. Did you get the skirt from ModCloth? I think I saw it there and was tempted. The print is great.
bisous

your skirt is very cool

Cute blouse and skirt. I love Erik Satie's music.
ReplyDeleteYour top and skirt are both so cute. And "bunny" to you too ;)P
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit. I wish I could see that skirt better it looks fab. Thank you for your comment hun. I'll be back soon I promise. Reality is kicking me hard at the moment!;/ xxx
ReplyDeleteI love that colour on you.

You look adorable! The skirt is cute, fun print, and yellow is such a sunny color - your outfit puts an immediate smile on my face! xxx
ReplyDeleteThat really is quite a lovely skirt! The print is fun, vintage, and classy, and goes so well with that pretty mustard top--the lace is a sweet touch. I do feel your pain on the sales though! You're right though--if it's already gotten much love, it was worth it. Lucky for me, I'm so cheap that it usually doesn't happen to me haha. But while working retail, I saw many items go on sale within a week or two, and I felt bad for the people who had bought it at full price. My philosophy is always to just wait!
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I just read up on your tips for music beginners, and I totally agree. It's so true that online instruments are a huge no-no, ,at least for instruments you can buy in store--I once ordered a spare violin online and it was a piece of junk, to put it nicely. My erhu though, I had no other option since it's only made in Asia. But that worked out nicely. And I have a lot of the frustrations with trying to help my brother with violin--he never wants to practice, and he is discouraged when he squeaks. My favorite point is when you say that "I'm bad at music" is a way to be lazy--I totally agree. It also imposes a condition, and the situation is totally different if someone says instead, "I've been struggling with music," because, it doesn't define the future. All of these are growing pains that regular practice and genuine enthusiasm will help improve!
Best of luck with your busy schedule!
A great print, wonderful mustard blouse, and your gorgeous smile - perfect!
ReplyDeleteWhenever you write with such energy and enthusiasm about your work (even when you are longing for the weekend!) I feel all sorts of envy and sadness that my kids' school doesn't have a music teacher. You are such an asset to your school, and the kids you teach are very lucky to have you, Kezzie. xxx
Sounds like you have been getting your moneys worth from the skirt. And why wouldn't you want to wear something so gorgeous on such a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteYour children are so lucky to have such a good teacher. Music hasn't been much of a feature in either of my schools apart from a smattering here and there.
