Thanks so much for all your well wishes for my last post. He felt ok earlier today but it's the evenings where he has started to feel a bit yucky. He said his mind was going all weird earlier- like he was away yet really conscious. We chatted as I type here in the study and he was about 7m away in the bedroom. Oh how I long to hug him! That's one of the most horrible things about this pandemic is not being able to hug and touch those you love for fear of infection.
Anyway, enough of that and onto the main point.
I discovered this wonderful orchestral piece by Russian composer, Rimsky-Korsakov (he of Flight of the Bumble bee) called Christmas Eve and it is delightful- it really does capture the magic and excitement of Christmas eve.
Put it on in the background as you do other things- it is utterly charming.
It makes me wistful that I will probably never get to play this- the orchestras I generally play with don't do concerts at Christmas with a large orchestra. Pity, as I really fancy playing that perky flute solo!
Who knows, maybe some day you'll get the chance to play it!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the music! I've listened to so much wonderful music shared by friends this December. Stay well!
ReplyDeleteI really miss hugging people, I don't know what I would do if I couldn't hug Andy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the music, it's really lovely.
