TARDIS Tuesday- Yaz Khan outfit from The Tsaranga Conundrum

Hi there,  For TARDIS Tuesday, I thought I'd feature a variation on an outfit worn by Yaz Khan in Doctor Who series 11 which I featured a month ago in the Promo photos post.

Here are some stills I have compiled from the episode:

She wears the same Maison Scotch navy sweatshirt with stars and moons on along with blue jeans, a red Barbour down-filled puffer jacket and flatform boots. It features in a very silly episode called  The Tsuranga Conundrum where an annoying space critter which can eat all known matter manages to get into the space hospital they are in and is rapidly eating up important components.
It's not the most exciting outfit except for that lovely jumper.

And here's my interpretation:
There are a few more things I could have done more accurately with this but there's always a future post to improve on!
I wore my black trousers rather than blue jeans.
I wore suede trainers rather than boots.
The jumper is accurate!
The coat is purple rather than Burgundy, however, in the episode, the lighting is very blue so it does appear purple at times.
I bought this Uniqlo down-filled super-light weight jacket in the Cats Protection charity shop on their 5 year anniversary celebration day. We'd gone to Westcliff to have some lunch and CBC's friend who lives there had texted him and told him that I should go to the CP charity shop because of their anniversary sale.  I saw this coat which is Very Purple but I have toyed with the idea of buying a very light weight, packable coat like this for when we are camping and out walking when space and weight is at a premium but didn't really want to spend much on one so I was delighted to find this for £5.  It packs very tiny and is soft and an excellent layer and I've already used it on several walks.  Also, it fits under my big scruffy winter coat so when it gets really cold in January and February, I can layer it to achieve extra warmth. I thought it would do as a substitute for Yaz's more expensive Barbour jacket which I am unlikely to seek or buy. CBC HATES how purple this coat is but I don't care!

Here's a close up of my cute space-jumper!

Not the most glamorous of outfits but definitely a cosy day one!

What do you think?

  1. I think I agree with CBC about that shade of purple. But so often it depends on the lighting. It's a really cute space jumper though

  2. I'm alway intrigued by what you call a jumper. Here in Canada, we call it a sweat shirt. Your "jumper" is very you. In any case, your look is spot on with the Dr Who episode.

  3. Your interpretation is fantastic. I like your purple puffer jacket a lot, more than the original one worn in the episode. Great sneakers and jeans as well. The screen accurate jumper is lovely as well.

  4. That's a great interpretation!
I've often said to Jon I'd contemplate wearing one of those puffy coats if they made them in amazing colours - yours proves that they do exist after all and that cats benefited from your purchase makes it even better! xxx

  5. Love your interpretation, Kezzie! That puffer coat was a bargain at £ 5 and Uniqlo usually is pretty good quality. The colour couldn't be more gorgeous! xxx

  6. I LOVE the bright purple of your puffer, Kezzie! It's nice and visible, and that's important in these dull grey days. Well done on your outfit, overall!
