5 Brooches part 5 or 6

Hello there!
Hope all is well with you.
This brooch-sharing shenanigans is having one or two effects- I'm rediscovering and wearing brooches I own, plus I've bought  a couple of things I shouldn't have!
Onto the reveal then.

This felted ladybird came from goodness knows where- I must have bought it at some craft fair, charity shop or other, but I failed to remember when and where but it's been lurking in my present box for a few years! Worn with the charity-shopped Henry Holland top with the cute collar! Pity it was wonky and looked like it was a ladybird who had been at the tipples!.

Brooch number 2 is actually a scarf clip but I've had them for years and didn't know what they were for until fairly recently. I thought it was just some unusual brooch attachment.   This one is quite cute and delicate but I'm not sure I pinned it too well! Also looks like it's been at the drinks!
More items masquerading as brooches. I remember someone or other wearing some clip-on earrings as collar-clips and I thought this was a fine idea.  Thus, when I found these adorable enamelled pink bird earrings in the charity-shop for £1.49, I knew their destiny lay in collar adornment rather than in the ear region!
Mr Badger was with me when I bought this saxophone brooch for £2 in a charity-shop on the way to my 'Last Knight' concert. It seemed the perfect pin on my old man corduroy blazer- also charity-shopped but about a decade ago! Vintage music-teacher chic!
The last one is my personal favourite and comes from Melbourne-based brand, Erstwilder.Their brooches are incredibly cute and well made out of layer of resin. This one is really thick and glistens beautifully like a fish in water. Should NOT have bought this but did.

Any brooches to share.  Ivana shared a homemade one last week but I'm not sure about anyone else this week!

xx

  1. Brooches really are my favorite jewelry. Felt flowers are especially attractive to me. I love that ladybird! They are all very FUN, Kezzie!

  2. My favourite is the saxophone. I like broaches on jacket lapels since I rarely wear dresses except in the summer sometimes.

  3. That saxaphone is so fancy and cool and the others have a charm all their own. By the by, I also do not care for iced biscuits for the exact same reason. Cookies are plenty sweet without icing. Thank you for the nice comment.

  6. Fun post, Kezzie! It brought smiles to my face and cheer to my heart. I'm actually recognizing some of the clothing you're putting your broaches on. Haha! I have known for years and years what scarf clips are. I bought some with some scarves in a fit trying to tap my hidden fashionista. But scarves get in my way when I'm moving and doing fast, plus they can bring on hot flashes when I'm sitting. So the clips and scarves are languishing in drawers.

My sister Donnie is the broach wearer in our family ~ but the broaches are always lawyer professional, not fun like yours!

Happy Thursday to you! Sending hugs!

  7. I love the heart-print blouse you've worn with collar clips. I'm guessing it's a charity shop find as usual?

  9. Kezzie, I seriously love these posts, please don't stop them! I'm loving your creativity this week, using some non-brooch things as brooches. I love the ladybird with that amazing collar and Erstwilder always get a thumbs up from me, their stuff is incredible.

  10. Oh I love the saxophone brooch, that's so cute! I love brooches like this that are little miniature versions of their lifesize counterparts - I found a cute little piano one for my friend for her birthday and they always look so cute. Love the idea of using old earrings as a brooch set too, that's such a good way to recycle them! - Tasha

  13. The happy fish is my favourite!

Just realised I never replied to your question re:Birmingham. Have you already been? If you like Chinese food, Chung Ying central would be great, it's 5 mins from grand central, has lots of sea food and is a bargain.

And yes I ate ants! They tasted of lemon!!!

  15. What a super idea to use clip on earrings! They're always so uncomfortable to wear on the ears anyway.
I love the scarf clip, that's very pretty.
I had a root around to find my brooches, I have 3. I was sure I had more than that! I might do a post about them, but it will be a very short one!
