All the garments are pretty old, especially the grey trousers which I've had since I visited Kings Lyn in 2001!!!
Please note, the gloves and hat were not worn in this shot for style sake but for the pure fact I am freeeeeeezing! My house has no central heating and is a veritable ice-box right now! If you want to know what I am looking like whilst typing this post, then scrolll to the bottom of the post!!
Fat lot of good this pretty infinity (with birds or feathers?) scarf is- bring back the cashmere!!!
Tuesday is also a fun Tah Dah! linkie day with Lakota and now WOMOTM has celebrated his birthday (Happy Birthday today WOMOTM!) and opened his card, I can post it here.
He's an aamazing photographer and so I made use of the fun camera paper that came with my favourite craft magazine, Papercraft Inspirations.
I also made my little niece a birthday card for the end of the month. She adores aeroplanes and so I made this to accompany the coolest ever book- the Wind-up plane book (it has a track inside it so the toyplane will zoom around the book!) She recently went on her first plane which is nice she had a treat as she is currently suffering the most horrendous bout of tonsilitis and hasn't eaten for almost a week, poor love.
I adapted a design from the aforementioned Papercraft Inspirations magazine for her. I hope she likes it!
Oh, I promised to show you what I am currently doing to combat the cold (purely for a bit of light humour, I'm not saying you should dress like this!!!). Yep, I added another jumper, cashmere scarf, slippers and like a Victorian gentleman, wearing my dressing gown over my clothes!!! Oh and that red thing I am clutching is a microwaveable cherry-stone pillow! It is warm. I'm still cold ;-)
I had ridiculous amounts of fun this morning teaching Year 1 to play In and out the dusty blue bells in their music lesson this morning. Hands up who played this? We also discussed the tempo and instrumentation of the March of the tin soldiers from the Nutcracker suite just in case you think I was having too much fun!
We played that! Although we sometimes sang 'bloomers' instead of bluebells. God knows why either of them are dusty.
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing, no central heating? Please tell me you have some sort of heaters? At least you have a lovely selection of clothes to keep you toasty!
cute cards you made kezzie! classy inspiration outfit. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your scarf. It's really pretty. I could use that in my wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteAnd your card is great, I cannot get to grips with paper crafting. I've given up trying.

Your outfit looks great!
ReplyDeleteWe had not central heating at home for a few years when we moved - throughout those 2 coldest winters for ages! I'm so glad to warm now but I know how you feel... Dave's flat in Wolverhampton was Victorian, all external walls, no insulation anywhere, original windows (single glazed and the glass was loose in the frames!) and no heating - we used to have to go to bed in more layers that you are wearing there haha, it was always colder inside that outside - I always recall the feeling of putting my hand in the fridge and discovering that the temp in the fridge was warmer than the room as inside the fridge felt warm on my hands! I'm glad he moved here and those days are over, but the memories are fun!
I definitely played in and out the dusty bluebells. I love the card - how sweet!
ReplyDeleteyou poor thing!! you should get a space heater or something! i love your take on the inspiration outfit. you look cozy! and you are so good at making cards...you should sell them on etsy!
ReplyDeleteYou look warm and cozy!! I love the print on your scarf!
ReplyDeleteGreat snuggly outfit! poor you having no heating, you'll have to find a giant hot water bottle ;)

No heating!! You are braver than I, our heating is, at best, pretty poor but at least we have some heat! (I often put my dressing gown on over my clothes too).
ReplyDeleteI liked your take on the inspiration, I love grey with a little splash of colour.
I have spent two severe winters without heat and I feel your pain! I hope you have hot water bottles, not just for bed but for watching telly, and plenty of blankets! Thermal socks really work too. And if all else fails wear your clothes to bed!
ReplyDeleteHi my dear-yes, I remember playing this too, what a blast from the past!! Sorry to hear you're suffering from the cold, do keep wrapped up and be cosy. Love the cards too, great work! xx
ReplyDeleteThe cards are great! We stick window film on the inside of all ours to keep some of the winter chills out, give it a try - ugly but less draughty.
ReplyDeleteMy hat's a 1970s original from a boot sale (where else?)x
I like your pretty necklace and your cozy outfit!
ReplyDeleteI took part in this Inspiration Monday too, and I still have no idea who the celebrity is! You do look cold in that last photo!
