5 Brooches and friends #63

Thank you SO much for your supportive comments left yesterday today regarding my irksome house situation. I cannot say how much I appreciate your empathy and understanding.  We will continue to search and hope that something stirs our heart which we are able to obtain!

It seems ages since I did a brooch round up on here so I thought I'd share a few.
This tin Peacock butterfly brooch came from Re in Corbridge, Northumberland a few years ago. I like its lightness!
This brooch from Kimchi and Coconut was part of a subscription box which I regretted buying as I didn't like anything in it!  That said, the little clown fish poking through seemed to go well with this shirt!
This is a 'friend' for the post- this Hello necklace was such a surprise from our School business manager- she saw it and thought of me so she bought it for me and presented it to me at school one day! What a darling!!

'The Girl who waited' is a quote from Doctor Who.  It came in a Lucky dip box and whilst it is nice to have a Doctor Who quote necklace, it is a bit of an ambiguous one! What would you think if you saw someone weearing it?
Finally, this was Tuesday's combination.  I added the two cute knitted brooches that Hazel gave me and added the charity shopped button brooch! They seemed to go with the blouse!

Any favourites here?  Have you worn any brooches lately? I will do a mammoth blog catch up at the weekend!

xx

  1. Dear kezzie, you know I'm not into brooches but I honestly can say I like the butterfly one. The others I wouldn't wear. I like something that doesn't stand out but just accessorizes discreetly what I wear. I prefer rings, bracelets and pendants or necklaces. I have a few nice brooches that I actually wear once in a while on jackets only. I seldom go out enough to wear them often.

  3. I love the butterfly!

Before I read what you had written, I thought the necklace said "The girl who waltzed" and was wondering whether you had taken up a new hobby!

  4. I like your butterfly brooch Kezzie. I have two necklaces with a butterfly on them and a butterfly brooch which I've been wearing this week. I'm sure you're looking forward to the weekend and I hope it's a restful one.

  5. I adore that clownfish, just peeping through. Such personality!
Butterflies should always be so light.
I'm just wondering how passive aggresive it would seem if you wore the Dr Who necklace when you had to queue for ages! 😀

  6. I'm wearing one today. An ice cream cone for ice cream cone day!
Love the grey top and blouse combo.
That scalloped collar in the first pic is a cutie.
Loving the hello necklace, what a sweet thing to have done by your colleague.
Keeping everything crossed for you that the home situation takes a positive turn very soon.

  7. You always have an interesting collections of brooches and outfits in these posts!

After my long, rambly comment yesterday, it occurred to me in the shower this morning that there was one thing I didn't say... all may not be lost! Your vendors decided not to sell because they haven't found a house, but if they still want to move, they will keep looking! Both the house we pulled out of due to that boundary dispute and the one where the vendors changed their mind came up for sale again whilst we were in the process of buying the other house (could have changed our minds but were happier with the one we have) so there's always that chance that they will find a home and go back on the market in a few months.

  8. I love reading your 5 brooches posts, but I guess you already knew that. I have a button brooch like yours, but in blue! I quite love The Girl Who Waited, which I guess is intriguing people! The collar of your blouse or dress in the first photo is divine! xxx

  11. Your tin Peacock butterfly brooch reminds me so much of one I had when I was about 5 or 6.
And of course I love buttons or anything with buttons on, this trio looks smashing :)
