A glance at beauty

Writing this post on Saturday evening, I felt very blue. All day, I'd felt this way.  I apologised to CBC all afternoon for feeling gloomy. I wasn't grumpy but felt despondent.  Having been in the house till about 3.30pm, I felt a desperate sense of cabin-fever at being inside, unable to motivate myself to do anything remotely useful, just a bit of reading, colouring of envelopes and feeling generally glum.  Finally, I declared that I had to leave the house and we set off to Fryerning for a little walk. It was cold, very muddy and rather grey but I felt the better for a walk in the fresh air.

Today, the weather was very different.  I took  a walk in the park, a beautiful place I am privileged to be able to access so easily.
The sun beamed down upon me. Everything was bathed in a golden, joyous glow and all that had felt so wrong with the world suddenly seemed well again.  When the sun shines, my heart does the same.

The breeze suddenly isn't so cold.
The frozen hands thaw a little.
The mud isn't so sticky
The grass is a little greener.

Everyone I walked past, I greeted with a smile and a "Good Morning," and everyone responded in kind.  Share the joy and the joy is doubled.

Enjoy the view.

  4. Sorry to hear you were having a glum day, Kezzie - though don't we all sometimes? Your therapeutic walk looks delightful, thank you for sharing the gorgeous pics, and yes, if you give out something positive, it usually comes back to you! xxx

  5. I'm so sorry that you've been feeling the winter blues. Spring isn't too far away and hopefully more sunshine. Hearing gloomy news everyday about a crazy world gone wonky doesn't help.

You are very wise to go for a therapeutic walk with CBC. Some exercise and fresh air is good medicine.

I hope your blues leave you very soon.
    Hugs,
    JB

  10. Oh, dear Kezzie! There are some days when we feel blue and it is needed, so that we see the beauty around us, otherwise, how can we know? So I am very glad you went for a walk and saw so much beauty around you - and I do mean that, not only in the spiritual sense, but because this landscape is amazing! And then every drop of water is blessed! Hope you are fine, dear Kezzie, and eager to go to one concert of yours - but it will take long this time :(

  13. I know just how you feel. Sometimes you just feel sad, and it's not anger at all b/c you feel sorry about it, and start apologizing! Getting outside does help, and the long end of winter makes it hard. Glad you're better with some sunshine in your heart!
