The rainbow skirt of cheerfulness!

rainbow brite

Hello there!  Thanks for your responses to my previous post- it was interesting hearing all your different (actually mostly agreeing) advice and experiences! I rreally do appreciate you taking the time to leave me such detailed and sympathetic advice. It is reassuring to know that you are not in the minority and it IS ok to say something.   Thanks!
It's amazing how my week has rearranged itself this year!  I used to dread Wednesdays and Fridays because I had nightmare classes (and orchestra was a pain last year!).  Now I love both those days because I have lovely classes and orchestra is so much better now!  I was all set for a lovely Friday afternoon of pentatonic compositions in year 4 (anything pentatonic sounds nice!) and now I have to cover the WORST class all of tomorrow because someone is off sick (not surprised with that class!) They are only five but they are horrid!!! Actually, that's an exaggeration but they are very, very hard work. I shall have to pray about and for them and for me!!! TThat's the only thing I can do about something I'm dreading, I guess!

I decided to wear this vintage Windsmoor skirt the other day- I love its bright colours, cheers me up no end, so decided to pick out all the colours of the skirt through the rest of my outfit, which made for a really cheerful day! Usually, I pair it with more muted colours!  I thought I'd take a photo in front of the cheery curtain!!!

I went to orchestra wearing this outfit (my London orchestra) and I played my flute for Brahms and all felt well with the world!  I haven't played in an orchestra (rehearsal or concert) on my flute since the start of December and it's what I have been missing!  I do believe God gave me this skill and love and I should remember to use it, because it really does make my spirit soar! Remind me, if I am feeling grumpy, to play!!!

What makes your spirit soar?!!?

  1. When you said Winsmoor I realised that I've got the matching jacket to your skirt! It's fantastic with the mint and pink... Love those two together anyway. Good luck with the little horrors! The Lark Ascending makes my heart soar... And real larks for that matter! Xx

Yes, your flute playing is wonderful.
Maybe you should play some of Ian Clarke's pieces to the horrible children. It would certainly shut them up.
