Bloggers Art Gallery

Hello there,
I hope you are well.
I had an idea for something a few months ago, well, a month into Lockdown but I never got around to posting about it.
I thought it might be quite nice if we bloggers did a little tour of any art we have in our houses- homemade art, bought art, sculptures, paintings, sketches, crayon drawings, anything- We then invite each other to come and view the galleries in a blog post.  I would be happy to provide a link for others to come and see your art or all those who want to participate could include the links and we visit either all at one time (e.g. we agree on a date to post) and we share the links in each others' comments and then we adapt our posts to include each one OR, we had one a week over a few weeks or something of that ilk.
If you think this is a fun idea and something you'd like to get involved in and you had any ideas or stipulations or wishes, then pop me a comment and we can get something together.
Alternatively, you could just take this blog post idea and run with it!
Let me know!

  1. Ooh, I like this! I have a lot of original art in my house, as well as some really kitschy things. I'll play! Let me know when you want to do it.

  2. What an interesting idea. I don't have a lot of art in my house but I have a few. I have a sketch I made that I framed, a self portrait of my daughter Nicole when she was in High School. A print of a local wooden covered bridge I purchased years ago, and a few cross stitch items I made and some hooked rugs I designed and hooked with wool that I dyed. If that qualifies, I'm in. Let me know when...

    Hugs, Julia

  3. I think it's a great idea! Most of the artworks in my house are just photos/paintings by me or my sister or my niece, but it'll be fun to see other bloggers' art collection!

  5. I think this is a terrific idea, Kezzie! I love it! I haven't been to the museum in months because of the pandemic, so this will be great!!
Outside of the postcards that I do, most of the paintings that I have are prints of paintings that my mom buys. But I have a few other pictures that I recently came across and am trying to figure out how to hang them.
    A wonderful idea, indeed! :)

But Kezzie, the other reason I'm here is to apologize... yesterday, I feel as though I lost my composure, about the whole mask wearing thing...
I'm usually more refined in my demeanor than that. I guess I'm just a little frustrated with how my country is treating this situation in such a whimsical way. I just wish that more people would step up and do the right thing. I come from a strict home and went to some pretty strict schools, so following rules and doing what's right comes natural to me.
Anyway, I apologize if I sounded too rough. It's not like me...

Also, I'm sorry to use your blog post here for my apology but I wasn't sure how else to contact you.

    1. Please don't apologise Mike! There is nothing wrong with sharing your frustrations. Indeed, that's what I was doing in my blog post. It is ridiculous that grown ups are not taking the threat seriously.

    2. Thanks for understanding, Kezzie. Yes, I was hoping that I wasn't coming off as sounding too rude. I always worry about that.
But yes, I think we're all a bit frustrated with how certain people in power are handling this whole thing and seeing others taking this so lightly.
Thanks again for your understanding, Kezzie. :)

But back to your art gallery idea, I'm super excited about it! I read your current post on what you will need, so I will have my post all ready for you by the appointed date. I went around my home today and took photos of all of my pieces. I may add a few more over the next few days before I begin writing my post. This will be fun!

  7. It's a great idea, Kezzie. Although the art we have here at Dove Cottage is somewhat haphazard, I'll think about making a post about the more interesting bits some time. xxx

  8. What a lovely idea. I'd be happy to join in. Some of the art I have has featured on my blog already - particularly the zentangles from Alison - but I would be happy to make a post featuring everything I have.

  9. We have literally just put up some of our pictures, only a couple of years after moving in! I don't have a lot really but think this is a fun idea so would join in!

  10. This is an interesting idea, art is so subjective. I might take part but we don't have much. xx

  11. That's a great idea! I'd love to participate. Most of my art is either done by family members or paintings my mother gave me because she had so many artist friends. Fun! I'll keep a look-out for when to do the post!

  14. Oh, now I get it. I'm not at my home at the moment but seeing that I'm a hobby artist I always have some art with me so this seems like it would be a fun things to do.
