TARDIS Tuesday- Bill Potts from The Pilot

Hi there,

Ahrgh, it was another late one!  We had a Twillight INSET at work which meant we stayed extra late at work! Sigh...

TARDIS Tuesday is another outfit from newest companion from Series 10, Bill Potts. Bill has a cool, tomboyish look, very different from Clara.  I liked the change in companion- she asked good questions!

The very first outfit she wore in Doctor Who Series 10, is featured below- I struggled to find any pictures of it in its entirety since she is mostly sat behind a desk wearing it.

Here's a shot from the Doctor Who exhibition of it. It features this stripy vest-top from Urban Outfitters, loose-fit jeans and she wears high-topped mint- coloured trainers, not pictured.

Jewellery-wise, she wears a black-cord necklace combined with another necklace featuring a shard gemstone necklace and some Peace sign earrings.

And here is my version of it.

Only the top is the actual same. To be honest, I'm not totally and utterly fussed by Bill's style BUT I had a vest-top just like this one in the 90's which I adored and when I saw someone selling one second hand for £4, I decided to give it a go.  I paired it with the same high-waisted jeans I wore for TARDIS Tuesday last week and some red high-topped trainers which are at least in the style of Bill's ones even if they are a different brand and colour.

In terms of jewellery, I was quite pleased with how I managed this one.  I discovered I had a thin-velvet ribbon from a dress which was perfect- well almost.  Similarly, I had a gemstone shard-necklace which I received in a blog-swap a few years ago from Gemma.
In terms of the peace-earrings, I've used these two pin-badges to adapt some earrings before for my last Bill outfit.  I just posted them through another pair of earrings.

The funny thing about this particular outfit is that I wore something almost identical in the 90's as a teenager! It was a very comfy and nostalgic and one I will wear again lots I think!

Have you ever ended up wearing something you wore a lot a long time ago but hadn't for a while?

And what do you think of this outfit?

  1. I was woken at 6:15 by high winds outside. And it's raining. I don't know what the weather is in Essex this morning, but I'm not going out in an outfit like that today, much as I like the top and those red boots! My new cord pinafore from the CS is very like one I had 45years ago in my teens

    1. It's incredibly windy in Essex today but very humid and sunny so far. I'm wearing a thin sleeveless Cath Kidston dress for work with a thin cardie which I've had to discard as I was boiling on the way to the station. I'm wearing leggings too but I think I need to take them off. Soo warm! I always find September a hard time dressing for school as invariably, whatever I wear makes me sweat!

Your new pinafore sounds great! Have you shared a picture of it yet?x
