1. Why are fish fingers so orange?
2. Why are they called fish fingers? Fish don't have fingers, nor are fingers cuboid shaped!
3. Why do I have SUCH an aversion to mops!
4. Speaking of mops- why do Rollmops look so disgusting? Why are they called rollmops also?
5. Why does ONE sock slide off (AKA get eaten by my boot) but not the other one?
6. Why do people with long legs inevitably have to end up opposite each other on long train journeys?
7. Why does my rail replacement bus (at peak times) not go down the back road to the station it needs to reach instead of doggedly going along the main road when it gets rammed in traffic for half an hour and consistently makes me late for work?
8. What IS it that I dislike about parsnips?
9. Where do all the socks go????
10. Why is this in my living room? Where has it come from and what is it doing????
If you have answers to any of the above, I'd be grateful to know.
What do you wonder about?
xx
Hahahaha!!! You are so adorable! I love the photo of your living room and your puzzled response. I often felt that way about my kids. "Is this my child? Why is he this way? I know him not." I wonder: why the object I need it always in the other room, why the kleenex box is always across the room, why I can never figure out what I'd like to drink, and how I can have such a love/hate relationship with my job.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say? My husband is bizarre!!!! YYYYYESSS, why is the object in the wrong location!!???
DeleteHa, I'm actually laughing out loud! They are very orange aren't they? And nothing like fingers. We were having the discussion the other day about this strange feeling I get, when I see something really tiny I want to stick it up my nose. As a child i put a tiny dice up my nose (which my Mum has never let me forget-was much crying trying to get it back out), but I still get the urge. like you know when you're on a high building you feel the urge to fall off? It's like that...but I just want to put it up my nose! As for lost items, kirby grips, elasticated hair things and there's something else I've forgotten that seem to just disappear or get eaten or something!
ReplyDeleteSoooooo orange!!!!! Oh my goodness, that is SOOO funny about wanting to put things up your nose!!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha!
DeleteWhat you made me wonder about: what ARE fish fingers? I looked them up, and they are what we call Fish Sticks. :-) Maybe ours aren't as orange as yours. I am a huge fan of fish sticks, especially the large and hearty ones that Costco sells :-)
ReplyDeleteAhAAA! Another American v British name version!! I am now intrigued to see and try yours! I LOVE ours!
DeleteWhere do the socks go? I always wind up with one single sock left. It's never the cheap ones, either - it's the nice squishy new ones.
ReplyDeleteI heard you ask about fish fingers in Idris's voice. Doctor Who permeates everything!
OF COURSE, it is ALWAYS the nice ones!
DeleteHAHAHAA- I am Idris!!
Goodness.. you've got me thinking now!!! Jx
ReplyDeleteYou should do a list for a blog post too!
DeleteI do wonder too where all the socks go. :))
ReplyDeleteOther people appear to have ideas below!!!!
DeleteI've often wondered why fish fingers are so called but I don't like to think too much why they're so orange, additives?
ReplyDeleteIt's bizarre! I'm not sure why their being orange is remotely appealing!
DeleteCheck out Godfrey Rusts great poem - from his book called The Place Where Socks Go http://www.wordsout.co.uk/the_place_where_socks_go.htm
ReplyDeleteBob has moved on from worrying about fish not having fingers to cod not having loins [http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=251875720] The thing in your living room is your Other Half. He kept pointing at the ironing board and muttering 'Where's My Shirt?' so you threw a tablecloth over him to shut him up.
I want to know about the shapely woman hiding in the large black case in front of the bookshelves...
I love it!!!!
DeleteWe were debating the loin issue the other day too!
Ha ha, yes, the ironing board. He leaves it out all week for his work shirts and then puts it away at the weekend!!!
She's called Cello!
Ooohhh... I wrote and wrote and lost the comment :) Anyway, yes, fish fingers are orange, but as I don't eat them, I think I didn't think about that, but a good question :) I don't know how the ghost :) was in your living room, but I have an answer to socks. The same I gave to a friend once - they are taken by the socks' leprechaun, and we should leave the socks with him, so we will get blessings :) True, the ones with long legs face each other :) As I have short legs, I am fine in any small place :) Oohh, so nice about your thought, I never thought of myself as "polished up", I even think I look so casual. It is good to know more ideas, of how one comes across! I hope you have a very nice week, loved your thoughts and I smiled! Hugs, dear Kezzie!

You always look very polished! I am very admiring of you!
DeleteTHE SOCK LEPRECHAUN! Of COURSE!
Whilst it doesn't answer your fish finger related questions you may find this fascinating ;) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/7868771/Fish-fingers-10-things-you-almost-certainly-dont-know.htmlxx
ReplyDeleteOOOh, I enjoyed reading that! Thanks!x
Delete1) For the same reason toothpaste tastes of mint - people are used to it and would think something was wrong if it was changed.
ReplyDelete2) Neither does chocolate, but I don't hear you complaining about "chocolate fingers"!
...
9) Have I mentioned the Sock Conspiracy recently?
:)
That was so funny Kezzie. Fish fingers aren't orange in Belgium, and they're called fish sticks. No idea what they're orange in the UK ... Don't know what that thing in your living room is, but it looks suspiciously like an alien ... Look, its space vessel (the ironing board) is parked there as well ... xxx
ReplyDeleteFish fingers are called fish sticks here... except at Coop where they are Crack Sticks ;-)
ReplyDeleteI have a drawer of single socks at home, I live in hope of the partners being found.
ReplyDeleteAs the world's fussiest eater I do eat parsnips, but only Aunt Bessie's honey roast ones which probably don't really count!

love the no.6:) I wonder about that too.
