Joining with my second edition of the Buyer's archive with Elise and some other lovely ladies!
I thought this would be a good way to make my look at my spending (and hopefully shame me into spending less!). I thought it would but it seems this month, I did worse than last month- I truly and utterly went mad! Honestly don't know what went wrong with me! On the flip side of it, I got some incredible bargains!
Onto the shame:
The next few items were all bought in old my local Barnado's - they ALWAYS have really nice things in there- that's where I bought my tap shoes.
To demonstrate the above point, this George floral and polka dot top was £1.99.
The next item was probably my item of the month. I saw this Emily & Fin dress hiding amongst a whole selection of beautiful Monsoon dresses and I was so excited as I had loved this dress when I saw it on A Million Dresses blog. Emily & Fin dresses are made of 100% cotton, fully lined with pockets.I already have this dress in a different print. I couldn't believe it still had its £65 price-tag on. At £9.99, it was more than an average charity-shop dress price but it was a great saving on the original price!
As I was paying, I saw this necklace hanging on the pin-board and I saw it as something I could butcherize into a cute set of punctuation brooches! I don't wear big chunky chains like this but 99p for 5 potentially cute brooches-hurrah! They are all sparkly or mirrored!
That was the end of my Barnados splurge!
The next item was from Age Concern and I really didn't need it. It still had its £17.99 price tag and cost £4.99. I thought this one was a better dupe for my Caretaker Clara cosplay so bought it. Probably shouldn't have but they let me in after they weren't supposed to and I felt somewhat obliged to buy something!
I'd totally forgotten about this purchase. I bought this Deer Arrow set of brooches for £4.50 + £2.00P&P from Ebay.
The last purchase was from Donna's instagram- a brand new Lindy-bop dress covered in retro TV's and radios. £18 posted.
The total is not as bad as I thought at £64.19 but when you are saving for a house (and you have WAY too many clothes), it's much more than I should have. Plus I bought a fair few books which I'll share in another post.

You are going to look fantastic in those dresses, tights or bare. But that polka dot skirt I most look forward to seeing. Wonderful to even imagine it :)

ReplyDeleteSwitzerland doesn't do charity shops. There are 2 second hand shops where I live, but they're full of old people clothes (and not the good retro type!)
Well you just had to have that polka dot skirt! The brooches were too pretty not to buy and the necklace is so just so you for making into more brooches.

You seem to have some really good charity shops nearby. I have an orange jumper with the same print as your black Next shirt and love it. They New Look top is lovely and the polka dot skirt is so you. My favourite though is the caravan brooch. X
ReplyDeleteGoods finds Kezzie, although you feel you overspent. I'm always telling myself off for buying too much, but I have as many excuses for doing so anyway. I too can spot a pattern that's right from me the minute I walk into a shop. The more you (charity) shop, the better you get a it. xxx

Well, I sometimes think "spend less" and I think I am better than before, but then later, why spending less? Life is now - if I have an after life, then I will have another way, another situation, and so on :) So, let's pamper ourselves, I suppose :) Well not so that way, not completely, but the items you got were so well priced! And so lovely! How could you miss that amazing necklace??? Or the sweet retro TV and radio print? I am eager to see that, it's lovely! Hope you have a very sweet week, dear Kezzie!

ReplyDeleteYou’ve got some great purchases here. I’m trying not to spend much this month as I did add a lot to my wardrobe last month but we’ll see… my self control is not what it should be! And thanks for the tip on the trainers - I see it as you saving me money rather then making me spend ;)

ReplyDeleteOh my God! That Friday on My Mind skirt is a beauty, very jealous. Some incredible finds for bargain prices. I found myself in Alderley Edge today, have you heard of it? I had to resist the urge to go in their charity shops. I'm writing my Buyer's Archive as we speak, my total is over £100 I Think! Oops!
ReplyDeleteI've been not too bad with the spending, then spent in the last few days as if it was going out of fashion. I managed to find a brand new pair of old-school IC boots for £14.99 on eBay. I bought 2 of the new IC bags, which came to an obscene amount and bought a few dresses from Lindy Bop today (after two I REALLY wanted sold out and they were just new in)! I bought some Clinique stuff because my moisturiser had run out and a couple of Collectif cardigans, an Iron Fist one and Care Bear shoes. All that within a week. Oh and a couple of Monster High dolls. Gosh I really have been naughty. It was the bank holiday discount codes that made me do it!! You haven't been bad in comparison (your total is less than one of the IC bags), so don't feel too guilty about it! x
ReplyDeleteI didn't buy any clothes for myself last month, but I got one dress from a friend, so I guess that qualifies as a new addition to the closet. I did buy materials from which I made necklaces so that's a haul of some kind too!
ReplyDeleteI bought sunglasses for my nephew and niece. They look so cute with them on. My baby niece wears hers all the time and she's only one year and half....and already a little fashionista.
You bought some really lovely items! I just love those dresses. Great finds! Sometimes when we find an item we really like, the best thing we can do is to buy it....we can always save up next month!
