One of the things I enjoy about my long walk to and from school is the walk by the park. There is something really dreamy and soothing about walking past a lake. If I am coming home after about 7, I find it almost totally deserted by this side of the lake and I sometimes like to sit and daydream whilst sitting by the lake, staring at the water.
It would be a lovely spot to sit and read as it approaches dusk. Peaceful and calm.
I really love balmy summer nights in floral frocks- this dress was from a charity shop originally but it was brand new. I sometimes wonder if I share too much. My favourite TA at school admired it and I immediately launched into a tale about how it came from a charity shop.
The weather has turned but the joy of summer is still in my heart.
I am glad it is the weekend and I am without plans! Also, it seems, without words.
Hope your weekend is enjoyable. xx

That's a lovely dress, a great find! I could do with the weather turning a little here. Day 3 of sunshine and sky, which I should be thankful for but I can't cope with the heat!

Aw! I love your floral dress and you look happy by the lake!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely dress, what a great find. I always tell people the price of my clothes as I am so proud of the bargains that I find. I know some people look at me and say just take a compliment you don't have to tell me the price or where you got it from.
ReplyDeleteYou look so adorable! Lovely dress, dear, and gorgeous you :) I am constantly drawn to water. I have always dreamed of living on a small island and having it all to myself. Surrounded by water sounds like perfection to me! xo

ReplyDeleteAww what lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteI always tell people if something they comment on is second hand, it's good to show people some of the amazing bargains that you can pick up (or maybe we should be keeping this to ourselves to stop them stealing the good stuff!?)

What a beautiful dress! I am like you and usually immediately tell people if something they comment on is from a thrift shop and then later wonder if I blurt out too much. I think that those of us who like to shop second hand just get so excited about our special finds we like to share that.

Very lovely dress. My family also enjoys shopping at thrift stores. In fact, I prefer it to shopping at full-priced dept. stores -- they are SO boring to me now! Years ago, my mother (as a young woman) told a friend (as you did) that her pretty outfit came from a thrift store. The woman, who was by all accounts very proper, frowned at my mom and told her she didn't need to tell EVERYTHING she knew. How funny people are!
