Polka face

Hurrah, tis the weekend to be jolly.  Fa la la la la la la la la!
Two of my favourites- berets (black beret= LTEH 33) and polka dots!
I'm smiling now. because I am freee!!!! I was not smiling this morning.  I went into see a colleague to give her a copy of the maths investigation.  She greeted me with "Is this something I can do easily and understand that wont be too diffficult?" in a highly aggresive sounding voice.  At which point I looked at her and said, "Good morning?".  Her reply was "I'm not in the mood for it!" even more aggressively and proceeded to rant at me about how my work was too hard.  I really felt upset and furious.  It's not the other stuff,  I understand the pressure, I understand that it's hard and she's stressed, I understand how hard it is too teach Maths investigation and how the children just don't get it.  I'm also sorry that I only gave it to her that morning- she doesn't e-mail me the plans for the rest of the maths so I only managed to ask her about it yesterday lunchtime and then I had clubs so I couldn't do it later. I'm very sorry if I am causing her extra stress and difficulty in any way.  But it was the response to Good morning, the most basic of greetings.  It was the aggressive tone.   There is a way to speak to your peers and colleagues and it isn't that.  What would you do in the situation?  I find it hard not to take it personally even though colleagues have said she's just like that and I still find myself thinking about it.
Yay, the blue, sparkly bracelet collection went for an outing!

Cheer me up, tell me something that will make me smile lovely bloggerkins!

I love the beret and polka dot dress, you look lovely. I hope a little compliment will cheer you up. Don't let her get to you some people are just plain rude and will end up being very lonely.

I was brought up not to be rude and to be honest I've very really had a go at anyone apart from family. If someone spoke to me like that I'd just leave the room. I'm not going to bother communicating with someone who shows me such little respect.
Love your dress and arm party!

I know that feeling, I'm very sensitive (too sensitive) and I would totally get upset by that woman's reaction! Just the other day someone from work yelled at me on the phone and I felt so bad. Like you said, she's probably just stressed but that should not interfere with basic politeness... I know it's difficult not to take it personally (I would!) but if other people say that's how she is, then maybe you can let it go. I hope you'll feel better about this situation very soon!

Hey lil sis,
You know I love Polka dots, as well as gingham. So girlie and pretty.
With regards to your colleague I know I would take it to heart too, as we are like that and were brought up to respect everyone and always be polite even if we don't like them. However try not to, and try and let it wash over your head. If it continues to happen then maybe consider pulling her up on it, and maybe I wil talk tactics with you. However if it is an isolated incident leave it. Xxxx

I have to agree with Sophie. If someone's talking to you like that I would just leave the room and ask them firmly not to speak to you like that. Don't let it get to you and keep smiling :) You look lovely by the way. And yay for swimming in European fountains, I love that about you. xxx
