Hello!
I hope you are well!
It was my birthday and for the first time in a very long time, I actually organised something for my birthday.
It meant that I spent a good proportion of time doing some cleaning and tidying of the house.
Once we'd done that, we headed into town to meet my Dad,Stepmum, sister and her boyfriend. I nipped in to get some Mint Imperials for CBC from the sweetshop and I nipped into Barnardo's and bought some brand new kids books. We met in a vintage tearoom for a quick tea and a snack. I had crumpets and some lovely Rose tea. We then headed along to an Escape Room place which I'd walked past loads of times but never known it was there. The game was called Pirate Plunder and we had to solve clues to find the treasure.
It was fun with some interesting gadgets and fun challenges. I don't feel I was particularly integral in solving any actual puzzles- it seemed other people did most of the actual opening of padlocks, solving of puzzles etc but it was fun to be part of.
We escaped with 17minutes and 17 seconds left.
After that, we headed back to mine and CBC's house. To my shame, this is the first time they've actually been over here properly apart from a brief visit to help move some things when we first moved in. They have a lovely big, immaculately tidy house so I was a little bit nervous about them coming to ours.
We had some tea and a couple of Lidl antipasti trays I had picked up the day before and we had a hilarious game of The Big Taboo which sadly we didn't finish as we had to head to our dinner reservations at my favourite Thai restaurant.
We had such a lovely fun time at the Thai and everyone really enjoyed the food and the buzzing atmosphere. It was really sad when we had to say goodbye to all of them as they went to stay at a nearby Premiere Inn due to the Dartford bridge and a tunnel being closed and we didn't quite have enough beds for them at our house.
On the Sunday, we headed over to Chris' brother's house to meet his Mum. She had come down to London for HER birthday which was that day. We had a nice time with the family.
On my actual birthday, funnily enough, only kids knew it was my birthday, none of the adults so they were surprised to hear the kids wish me happy birthday at the end of the day.
Straight after school, I headed out of school around 3.40pm to get the trains to my Mum's house where she cooked us a delicious Spaghetti bolognese and we had a jolly evening together. I headed back home to meet CBC who was coming home from a school event he annoyingly had to be at. We got home and I opened my presents from friends and family.
It was really nice to do things for my birthday with my family.
Hope you are well.
xx
