This week for TARDIS Tuesday, I thought I'd have another go at Clara Oswald's Christmas outfit from Last Christmas, the series 8 Christmas special on Doctor Who. I last attempted it in December 2018 .
Let's look at it.
And yes, I am going to be wearing nightwear on my blog! Ha!
She wears a white full-length cotton nightgown with rosebuds on it. Over the top, she dons a pale blue cashmere dressing gown with pale blue sheepskin slippers from Ugg.
Finally, at one point in the story, she dons a khaki Topshop parka coat with a big brown fluffy hood.
Here's my version. Please forgive the quality of the pictures. The lighting was not great but I wanted to go with the slightly dark vibe as that is the feel of the episode (which deals a lot with the dream state)
Let's start with the basics:
This outfit has changed in two ways since I last wore it AND I straightened my hair which is the correct length for once!
I bought this white flannel nightie with pink flowers on eBay second hand after a LOT of searching. It's surprising how there just AREN'T this type of nightie available in smaller sizes. This was as close as I could get in NOT a size 20-22!
My dressing gown is actually a blue cardigan and was also bought second hand
The two updated elements from this outfit are the coat and slippers. The coat I did wear (and still wear daily) is almost identical but has some dark extra patches on it. This one is completely screen accurate and only cost me £3. I love the hood so much- it's the only thing that makes winter train journeys bearable.
The final element are these sheepskin bootie slippers. These were a Christmas present to my mum from her Icelandic penpal about 20 years ago. I 'acquired' them about 12 years ago. Not sure how I did it but I did!
Ok, so it's not an outfit for wearing out. But it's a very comfy cosplay to be lying on the sofa wearing right now! Ha
Hope you are well. My Christmas plans have just changed due to the hosts of our Chrismas testing positive for Covid on an LFT (waiting for PCR) but as yet, I have no idea WHAT we will be doing! How exciting! Sigh...
Much love to you.
xx
Your floral nightie is cute and that's such a great deal on the coat.

Our plans up in the air too for similar reasons...
ReplyDeleteThat's a brilliant cosplay, Kezzie! Your hair looks wonderful and lucky you stealing those slippers off your Mum, they're ace!
ReplyDeleteI hope whatever you do on Xmas Day is fun - we're supposed to be hosting the Dead Relative's Society inaugural Xmas Day Dinner (it's always been a curry at the local Indian apart from last year) but two of our guests work with the general public so it's lateral flow testing daily just in case! xxx
What a fun cosplay, Kezzie! Christmas Day is usually pyjama day for us, so your outfit would certainly fit in. Christmas with Jos's children and grandchildren is only scheduled for January, so we are keeping our fingers crossed. xxx P.S. Your hair looks absolutely fabulous straightened!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hair Kezzie and great cosplay.
ReplyDeleteYes, great uncertainty around the celebration of Christmas with family and friends.
I hope that whatever you do, you have a wonderful time.
Wishing you peace and good cheer. x
Very good effort. And perfect for relaxing around the house in. Happy holidays!
ReplyDeleteYour nightie looks very cosy. I'm a pyjama girl but have worn nighties before.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the change of plan but I'm sure with your creative mind, you'll come up with an excellent plan B.
Merry Christmas.
Hugs, Julia
