Today, I am not reviewing Anton Chekhov's Famous Play but sharing some images I took at the Seaside. I find Heron Gulls quite aggressive (I never looked at Heron Gulls in the same way after Emily's blogpost in which she was attacked by a Heron Gull for her Cornish Pastry). There were several times I thought a seagull was going to take off with a small child clutching some sort of edible. I decided to take some pictures of the flight of the Suffolk seagulls.
Beautiful but rather intimidating!

We have seagull around here and I know some hang around a fast food place where people would throw french fries to feed them. I think this is a stupid idea.
ReplyDeleteSome years ago I found a seagull that had red yarn tangled around one of her foot and it could barely walk because it was wrapped tightly around its foot and it slowly hop in my yard. I threw a blanket over it and with the help of my husband we cut the yarn and untangled it and set it free. It was so light. I think it was starving. It felt good to see it fly away.

They're beautiful creatures, but they can indeed be quite fierce. In the - firmly landlocked - park near where we live there are seagulls masquerading as ducks, giving the poor creatures a run for their money! xxx

ReplyDeleteI've met these particular gulls! I made the mistake of sitting on the seawall with a portion of chips, I was very quickly surrounded!

Our gulls are a different species, but similar I'm sure. I'm always wishing I could get pictures like this!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if our sea gulls here are the same type, but they do love their nibbles! They are hesitant though, and don't attack. Tourists try to get them to eat bread from their hands, but it's hard to do.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful seagull photography...and you remind me that I haven't read that Chekhov play. I read most of his works so I should read that play as well.
