My sister's was a fairly simple matter-I used a butterfly punch I purchased for my wedding decorations and punched butterflies in three pinks. I folded these to achieve a 3D effect and glued them onto a piece of polka dot card onto a card blank (recycled picture card) together with the pink-scalloped sentiment. The butterflies needed some way of linking so I used some adhesive gems I'd received for my birthday to stick between them. Achieved in about 15 minutes (including rummaging time)
The second card was also fairly simple. I knew I had some boat porthole outline stickers so I hunted them down and luckily located an old program-front with sea-paper from a 2006 Royal Academy of Music 'Diary of events' which I'd been hoarding since, er, I left there in 2006! It was perfect for the background and also below. The tricky part was making the alphabet 'self-adhesive' stickers stick- they seemed to have lost their stickyness so some vigorous pritt-sticking went on. Finally, I found some curly outline stickers which were fairly reminiscent of waves. Again, about 15 minutes making but also included procrastination and searching!
And here's a bonus card I forgot to share a while ago- a quilled flower card I made for a blogging friend who had a significant birthday.I have a horrible feeling the gems came off in the envelope as it definitely rattled as I posted it!

I must say, you are very creative with your card making. I'm sure they will be happy to receive them. Cards are very expensive and I have practically stopped buying cards except for the very special occasions and Christmas. I always have thank you cards on hands though.

ReplyDeleteI like your cards because - like me - you don't have all the whizzy die-cutters/ embossers etc that so many card makers seem to have. You use bits and bobs that you have hoarded and you still make lovely cards to inspire us. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful, I wish I had the talent to make them. Such a personalised touch, I received a quilled design card from a friend once and loved it. In relation to your question about BAIT footwear I have purchased them before from Modcloth, the postage can definitely be high but no imports to pay. I've never purchased direct from the BAIT footwear website. Kitten D'Amour have recently started selling BAIT Footwear also so it's great to now have a place in Australia even though it's a limited range.

ReplyDeleteDear Kezzie, I tell you, you are so talented - but I know everybody tells you this! I loved the butterfly card and the sail away one, with the cute boat! But the quilled flower card is really woooow! So, I am looking for quilled flowers now to decorate something at home, I really loved it! So, so talented and sweet to send cards this way to family and friends! You know yours, to me, is on my wall!
