TARDIS Tuesday- Oswin Oswald

Last TARDIS Tuesday was a bit of a unloved one!  Thank you to Ivana and Vix for their nice comments! This week, I am keeping my colour scheme from last week's Sarah Jane cosplay and passing it onto Oswin Oswald.  This was Clara Oswald played by Jenna Coleman's very first appearance in Doctor Who, back in series 6, in the guise of Oswin Oswald.  Here's a short Youtube video showing her character's first appearance:

And here are a series of stills showing her outfit

I HAVE worn this outfit on here before but I CANNOT find it anywhere in my links! I reckon it's been at least 3 years since I wore it on here.

Here's my 2024 iteration.
It's pretty much identical to whenever I last wore it except that I think I may have worn a different belt.
I adore this dress which I bought second hand from Zara, but for the fact it is so short on me with my longer legs.  I would wear it with leggings in public.

My trainers come from River Island as do Clara's but for the fact, mine have some weird cut outs at the side- CUT OUT TRAINERS????? The socks came from eBay.  I added the belt which was from Primark. I don't have all the items she has on her belt, but you might see I added a whisk on the left hand photo!!!

By the way, I inadvertently cosplayed another TV character with this outfit.  Below is Zooey Deschanel from TV programme, New Girl and my dress happens to be the same model that she is wearing!

By the way, since the Swing Seat is out, I couldn't resist trying to recreate the hammock photo from the pictures above! This took a few attempts as I had to rearrange my skirt quite a few times

I really love red and it is a colour that comes back repeatedly into Clara's wardrobe! Stay tuned for more red next week!

What do you think of this outfit?

TARDIS Tuesday- Amy Pond in the Time of the Angels

It's been 6 years since I last cosplayed this particular Doctor Who inspired outfit! Is that the longest between one on here? You can see it here, before my posts even the nomenclature of TARDIS Tuesday on this blog.

Source

Last time I wore it, it was a closet cosplay using items I had in my wardrobe anyway.  I wore a dull red zipped hoodie, a black skirt, grey tights and black Converse shoes. It's a comfortable outfit.

This time, one item was purchased specifically for this outfit, the others were all in my wardrobe.

Here I am next to Amy!

I didn't intend putting together this outfit but I went into the spare room to look for a Clara dress I am swapping with another cosplayer on Saturday and in the same bag, I found this red  Primark hoodie I had bought from Oxfam for £4 a couple of months ago.  It struck me that it would be a comfortable Saturday outfit and it could be my TARDIS Tuesday this time.

Next, I found my black skirt which I wore last time. This was given to me by my work colleague who was moving back to Canada back in 2014.
I couldn't find the grey tights I wore last time but realised that even more comfortable would be the grey leggings I have.

When I went to search for my  black  and red Converse high tops in the under stairs cupboard, I could only find ONE of them!
Disaster!  So I went upstairs to look in the spare room cupboard and to my delight, discovered...
I actually had BLUE Converse hightops with a TARDIS handpainted on them!
I'd completely forgotten that my penpal K (who used to blog) had sent me these for Christmas last year!

There is an interesting story behind these shoes.  K is very creative and has large size 9 feet.  She finds it hard to buy interesting shoes in her footsize and so had taken to buying grey Primark plimsols and drawing designs on them in Sharpies- she's made Octopi, rainbows and clouds, dinosaurs and other delights.  I told her I loved them and it would really cool if one day, she could make me some as a fellow bigfoot!  She was very excited to do so but I said I wanted to use more ethical brand Toms to make mine so I was going to keep a look out for some second hand.
In the meantime, she got together with a lovely man in Lockdown (they were friends but had fallen for each other!) and they'd subsequently moved in together.  Both had 1 bed flats and needed to combine into one so both needed to ruthlessly cull possessions. During the cull, she found these in his cupboard.  These were actually the shoes he wore for his wedding to his ex-wife as she was a Who-fan!  He wasn't a fan but agreed to do that for her (ha, CBC would NOT do that for me!) and these had been handpainted for him.  He'd never worn them again and obviously, not being a Who fan and having split with his wife, didn't want them so K, discovering they were MY footsize, sent them to me for Christmas!
Isn't that perfect! They were second-hand, hand-painted AND unwanted, helped someone unclutter, were found a week or so before Christmas AND they turn out to be Screen accurate Amy Pond shoes (I didn't realise this till now!)

I came down the stairs wearing this on Saturday. CBC looked me up and down.
"Is that a Doctor Who outfit?" he asked.
"Why?  Do you not like it?" I retorted.
"No, I like it, it's cute." he acquiesed.
"It IS a Doctor Who outfit!" I blurted gleefully.
"I knew it! Is it Amy Pond?" he laughed.
"Yes!"
"I'm starting to recognise the outfits now!"

It was a fun but comfy outfit to wear on a Saturday trip to town and meant I was ready for TARDIS Tuesday.

Given that 2 out of the four items I am wearing were gifts and the hoodie was £4 and the leggings £6 from Tesco back in about 2012, the cost of the outfit was very reasonable.

What do you think?

TARDIS Tuesday- Amy Pond in The Curse of the Black Spot AKA- the day I had bright pink legs at school.

 Hi there,

Oof, I'm tired! Went to bed waaaay too late last night after doing some marking I've been putting off as I've got reports to do and need to use the marking for those too.  Definitely felt rather ratty at school today.

Today's outfit for TARDIS Tuesday is 11th Doctor companion Amy Pond's outfit from the historical series 5 episode, The Curse of the Black Spot, set aboard a pirate ship.

Image borrowed from:
https://impossipondrobe.livejournal.com/11393.html

She begins in a pink and grey Uniqlo checked shirt, worn with a peach-coloured cardigan.  She wears a very short fitted denim skirt with hot pink tights and brown knee-high boots.

Later in the episode, Amy dons a tricorn hat, a grey buttoned man's coat and a brown leather strap to hold her cutlass once she becomes part of the crew.

Here's my version:

I wore a similar version of this outfit back in May 2018, 3 years ago but with a few changes.

The first thing I started with was the shirt.  My shirt is also from Uniqlo, bought second hand but it isn't exactly the same shirt, though I think it is pretty similar.
I added my pink Primark tights- the pink tights are pretty iconic. I got rid of a lot of my bright tights collection and shared them with bright tights lovers Polyester Princess Ann and Becky as I decided I didn't like them but I kept this pair for this very outfit.
The next element I added was the skirt.  I don't have a fitted denim skirt (nor do I want one) but I do have this black Zara skirt which my work colleague gave me when she moved back to Canada 6 years ago.  Finally, I added my brown knee-high Italian boots, bought from eYe Boutique in Ilford back in 2009 or so.
I got lots of compliments on the outfit today from colleagues as they don't often see my legs apparently, even though I wear leggings all the time!

When I got home, I added CBC's grey Reiss coat for the above photo but sadly all the Tricorns were in the loft and I annoyed CBC as soon as I got home, apparently with a whinge-fest and ratching in my bag to find my camera, so I wasn't going to ask him to get them out.
If only I had the red hair.

I should add that I put on trousers over the top to cycle in- there was no chance I would be cycling in this skirt!

Ah well, better get on with those reports!

Hope you are well.

TARDIS Tuesday-Amy Pond's Christmas Jumper from The Doctor, the Witch and the Wardrobe

 Hi there,

Here's another week of TARDIS Tuesday and this week, I am featuring Amy Pond and her Chrsitmas outfit from the Christmas episode, The Doctor, the Witch and the Wardrobe which has a Narnia-esque ilk to the episode.

Amy only features right at the very end of the episode as the Doctor realises, after his exploits, that he needs to let Amy and Rory know he is still alive and that he didn't die.

Here's a collage I made:

She does wear pink tights and black boots with this outfit but you barely see those so I focused on the top half of the outfit.

She wears a dark Scandi Christmas jumper and appears by her front door (with wreath.)
I am glad I took these as the next day, CBC finally took down our wreath (I wanted to leave it up)

The jumper belongs to my German cosplaying friend, remember the parcel mentioned in the Cheese-incident post? I tried it on before I posted it to her (with her permission of course!)

It's a very cosy jumper and I am sure that Charlotte will be very cosy in it!

This post was more about the fun of trying to recreate some of the pictures though it was hard as I didn't have my regular camera or tripod and was working with a music stand and a mobile phone!

Ah well.

TARDIS Tuesday- Amy Pond in the Impossible Astronault

Hi there!
Hope you are well.

Today, I am sharing a costume from Doctor Who series 6 worn by red-headed, feisty companion, Amy Pond.  She wears this in the first episode of the series called The Impossible Astronault in a very strange episode in which the Doctor is killed and then is seen alive later! It ended up being a brilliant finale to the season!

  • She is hiking so wears a practical outfit for it:
  • Reddish orange and white checked shirt
  • Cropped jeans
  • Brown hiking boots
  • Hair pinned to the side.

I last attempted this back in 2016 or 2017 I believe.  Here is my interpretation:

You may recognise the shirt as I wore it last week for my Jo Grant outfit.  Here, it is more visible.  The check colours are reversed from Amy's shirt but other than that, I think my charity-shopped shirt is a good match.
I added cropped jeans in a lighter shade of blue (second hand) and then my Mountain Warehouse walking shoes.

I'm missing the American flag!  This is a comfy outfit- one I wore for walking in though I think cropped jeans are an odd choice for walking, even though my ones are very soft material!

What do you think?
Would you wear this outfit?
What do you wear for walking?

TARDIS Tuesday- River Song in Let's Kill Hitler!

Hello there!

Today, I am debuting a new character from Doctor Who for me for today's TARDIS Tuesday.
River Song is one of the most confusing characters from New Doctor Who.  She was first introduced in David Tennant's era and then appeared through the subsequent Doctors Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi's tennure. Her timeline was going in opposition to the Doctor so when he met for her for the first time, it was the last time she saw him!

River Song was a very, very confident and flirty character. Today, I am featuring an outfit that she wears in Let's Kill Hitler, the episode where the Doctor and Amy and Rory discover how River Song has been in their lives already.
She wears a peach and black print strappy dress and a black leather gilet along with black leggings and black knee-high boots.

Doctor Who – Let's Kill Hitler Review (or “Yet Another Fucking ...
https://stuartreviewsstuff.wordpress.com/2013/09/18/doctor-who-lets-kill-hitler-review-or-yet-another-fucking-river-song-episode/
And here's my version:

I decided to attempt some River Song poses. I lack the hair but did my best to be sassy!

Let's go through the outfit.

I'll start with the dress with the disclaimer that this dress is currently residing in my house before making its way to Germany to my friend Corinna.  A few times in the past, Corinna has sent cosplay items to me where a second-hand seller is not willing to ship outside the UK.  I've then sent them on together in a parcel with a few items.
She's had a bit of a successful run of finding items recently and I currently have 5 items, including this dress, waiting for a 6th item to be posted to her.
She said I was welcome to try on any of the items so I did!
I've always looked at this dress thinking I didn't really like it but actually, seeing it in person, I liked it even though it's not totally me!
Boots and leggings were easy to recreate just from my usual knee-high boots and leggings. I didn't really have anything to match the Gilet but then I figured, as I rifled around in my wardrobe, this short-sleeved black shirt would recreate it well enough!

This will be the only time you see this as the dress will hopefully be off to Germany soon!

TARDIS Tuesday- Amy Pond- Dinosaurs on a Spaceship 2

Hi there,

Hope you are well.

Today's TARDIS Tuesday is an outfit I created on here about a year ago here.  It is an outfit worn by Amy Pond in Dinosaurs on a Spaceship. She wears this nice stripy Reiss jumper as well as blue jeans and brown brogues plus her A initial necklace.

I happened to be wearing this outfit on Saturday and decided to just give it a whirl for TARDIS Tuesday in the absence of having prepared anything else!
I'm actually wearing only the same shoes as last time!  The jumper is also made by Reiss but is in a Cappucino stripe instead.  I thought this was quite cute! I'm also wearing some alternative jeans!
I thought my hair looked quite similar in terms of length and shape here, even if it isn't red!  I added my pretty Druzy necklace as well!

Short and sweet today!!

Hope you are well!
