TARDIS Thursday- Village of the Angels Yaz

Hi there,

Greetings from Lurgy-ville! I started to feel a bit unwell on Sunday night and now I have a fully blown cold.  Yesterday, I took 18 children from my Year 4 recorder club to perform in our local borough's annual recorder festival.  It was the first one since 2019 and is a festival I have been taking part in since about 1988! We had a lovely time (although had to wait 30mins for the last parent to collect their child!)   It was sad that only 3 schools (plus the music school) accepted the invitation to take part.  In past years, there have been dozens of schools. I wondered why? Is the recorder not being taught so much (wretched Ukelele)? Was it too last minute? I do hope that it will develop again more next year.

My children were really proud of themselves and really excited but nervous to do their first performance with other schools.  When I look at the children I took (one last minute was not able to come), I laugh at some of the children I have who used to be really difficult in Year 1 and who are now proudly playing the recorder and turning up to a lunchtime club voluntarily on a weekly basis! I am so glad to offer them this opportunity! The audience was very warm and receptive and appreciative and the parents were really excited to see their children perform.

For TARDIS Tuesday today, I am featuring Yasmin Khan again- 13th Doctor companion.

It comes from Series 13 episode, Village of the Angels.  This was a creepy but brilliant episode with tension in bags!

She wears a navy silky floral shirt from All Saints (The Adeliza Spirit shirt) plus a brown fur coat from Zara (and NOT her usual leather jacket!) plus black buttoned down jeans, tan belt and Dr Martens Leonore chelsea boots. She wears a bright red top underneath and her  Y and Z initial necklaces.

Here's my version:

Not sure what is going on with my camera but it was very washed out!

With the exception of my All Saints blouse (which has a lovely jacquard fabric with nice big loose sleeves), the rest of the outfit is all other items I own anyway (the usual ASOS trousers, brown boots plus my G Star Deline coat from another Yaz outfit. I forgot to don my tan belt!

This was a good school outfit on a Spring day.

I hope all is well with you!

TARDIS Tuesday- The Rings of Akhaten

Hello there,

Today's TARDIS Tuesday is not really an outfit as such- well it IS but it's not really one you can see much of!

It features my beloved Clara Oswald but from a flashback to when she was younger!

Cannot believe I used this outfit as inspiration last in 2018!!! Whoa- 5 years ago! Exactly 5 years to the day that I am writing this blogpost (Sun 26th November!)

It features Clara at her Mother's funeral in a red duffle coat from F&F at Tescos.  Nothing else of the outfit is visible

And in a very simple photo, here I am

I bought this duffle coat around 5.5years ago and it is one of my favourite coats to wear if I KNOW it is not going to rain! I wore it to church last Sunday along with last week's TARDIS Tuesday outfit underneath!I love this beautiful duffle coat. It has a cosy tartan lining

Luckily, my church has a grave yard which seemed suitable for a quick picture! I balanced my phone on the edge of a large green wheelie bin! Easy peasy!

My busy period begins this week! I have a lot to get done this week- here's hoping I get it all done AND get some rest in between! 4 rehearsals and a concert this week.

My sister hosted a lovely party for my niece K's 14th birthday. Can you believe she is 14?

Her dad took this picture of us (in one of those edit programmes that blocks out the background! She is a sweetie!

I hope you are well!

TARDIS Tuesday- Fluffy and Cosy Yaz Khan

 Hello there!

I sometimes wonder which season is more difficult for TARDIS Tuesday- Winter or Summer? I think probably Summer so I am glad I have some cosy Winter cosplays to wear for these posts!

The one I am sharing today is a favourite- it is Yaz Khan's first civilian outfit in her debut episode, The Woman who fell to Earth.  This will be the second time I have featured it- the first time being in January 2021- the first week of online lessons!

It was the PERFECT outfit for a VERY frosty day spent at home and doing some shopping in town!

Let's look at the inspiration:

It features a lovely beige, fluffy, hooded teddy coat from Zara, an unidentified pink wool sweater with a simple collar, blue jeans, burgundy leather gloves and Dune Pacey boots in Burgundy
The only identified items from the outfit, as far as I can remember are the Zara coat. I obtained mine for £12, secondhand from Depop and it is my favourite Car journey coat- it is light but cosy- like wearing a furry blanket. I wore it last time I wore this outfit.

The other item I wore last time was the pink sweater- it was £4 second hand and is very soft.  I don't know where her real jumper is from!

The new elements for me, this time at least, were I have obtained the other identified element- The Dune Pacey flatform brogue boots and that pair of comfy blue jeans from M&S that I mentioned obtaining a few weeks ago.

My hair was still wet in the picture- I just washed it! I realise I did my side-plait on the wrong side.
Oh, I wore my wool burgundy gloves for the picture! I don't have leather ones but these ones that were a present work perfectly well.I could only find one of them and then suddenly thought to check a handbag which has hats in- there it was!

I went to town with CBC, who isn't very well, to try and buy a sweater for my sister but they didn't have it in stock. I bought lots of vegetables, a top in the Salvation Army, a couple of books and bits in the Barnardos and in Wilkos, we picked up a mini Christmas tree for £12 and a new shower Squeegie! We had a brief late lunch in a nice little tea room.

When we got home, I hung some washing, did a bit of tidying, finished off yet another recycled Christmas craft and read a little.

Did I tell you about the Instagram competition I won?

Last Christmas, I won a £50 book voucher for my favourite Northumbrian book shop. I bought children's books for school!

This year, I have won a complete set of books by Robin Stevens, author of the Murder Most Unladylike series,  which I entered to try and win for my school library! They are her own personal author copies! They are not pristine she says, but author owned!  I'm excited to read the latest one which I haven't read yet!!  Can't wait for them to arrive!

Hope you are well!

TARDIS Tuesday- Yaz Khan's outfit in the Tsuranga Condundrum

For TARDIS Tuesday this week, I needed a cosy, comfy outfit for a cold, rainy Saturday! I knew just the one that hasn't had an appearance on here for two years.

Last featured in December 2020,  I am featuring an outfit worn by Yasmin Khan in a series 11 adventure called The Tsuranga Condundrum. It was set mostly on board a space hospital ship. Yaz was dressed for being outside on a salvage planet. The 4 travellers accidentally step on a mine and get severely injured so they are picked up and taken on board a space hospital towards Tsuranga. Unfortunately, the TARDIS has been left behind and a sinister creature which eats all known matter has somehow got on board and is very hungry. It's a silly episode but quite entertaining.

Let's look at the outfit:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06q81wy/p06qls32
https://www.blogtorwho.com/doctor-who-the-tsuranga-conundrum-what-we-learnt-about-the-companions/

It features a navy starry and moon-themed jumper from Maison Scotch, a Barbour (I think) red puffer jacket, blue fitted jeans, Burgundy Brogue chelsea boots from Dune.

Last time I put together this outfit, I wore a purple puffer coat, black trousers and navy trainers together with the same sweatshirt.

What happened this time?

The outfit has changed a bit.

Let's start from the top. I am still wearing the screen accurate Scotch and Soda sweatshirt which is lovely quality and extremely comfortable.

I acquired a burgundy down-filled puffer jacket from Barbour, second hand. It is immensely soft and comfortable. Not 100% screen accurate but gorgeous to wear!

There are not many good photos featuring the outfit clearly in its entirety, but I decided to try to recreate some of them.

You might notice I am actually wearing blue jeans. They are relatively skinny-ish. For me, anyway.

I have real issues with jeans and my shape. The only ones that usually work for me are more wide-legged and high-waisted. The ones I have are indigo.

However, I was in the Baptist charity shop on Saturday morning and I noticed this pair of M&S blue jeans in size 10 that had elasticated sides at the waist. They were skinnier than my usual jeans but not skinny jeans and also slightly thinner, softer material than regular jeans.

For £3, I decided to give them a go and I was really pleasantly surprised. The elastic means they fit my waist. Admittedly, they are a bit too short for for my long legs. However, I really don't care about this. Teenage Kezzie would be howling at me right now- it was the ultimate faux pas to wear jeans that were too short and I always had issues finding them long enough for my legs. Tough, little Kezzie, tough!

I was doing some lovely Christmas crafts involving cardboard on Saturday night and I couldn't resist having a go at recreating whatever this thing is!!!
I had a blanket on my knees in the kitchen and thought I'd just recreate this photo.

You can see my boots peeping out. I obtained the Screen Accurate Pacey boots in Burgundy a while back so these complete the outfit.

It's funny how bright red her coat looks in lots of the photos but how dark in others!

What do you think? Would you wear any parts of this outfit? Too boring for you?

TARDIS Tuesday- the obscure Yaz outfit from Revolution of the Daleks

This week for TARDIS Tuesday, I am going a little niche and obscure! Jodie's era is over but I'm not done with trying to recreate outfits from her companion Yaz (who, random fact here, is the only companion in Doctor Who history to remain with her Doctor throughout the Doctor's whole era).

I featured Yaz's main outfit from Revolution of the Daleks in December 2020 and revisited it in May 2022 but, when the episode aired, it was a little seen outfit that she wore right at the start of the episode that really caught my eye and heart.

Here are my screen grabs of it:

It's the corduroy coat that did it. I LOVE corduroy. I can't tell you why but I have always loved it. My Mum used to tell me about a beautiful pair of petrol-blue Levi cords she used to wear in the 70's which sounded wonderful to me.  In the 90's my viola-friend Chrissie acquired a pair of pale blue Levi cords from her sister. We used to share them in the viola section. Me, Maz and her used to wear these cords. I bought a pair of Bottle green cords from Laura Ashley from the charity shop which I owned until recently but they just got a little too tight.

The coat is navy blue corduroy with a shearling collar and buttons.  She wears it with a black floral shirt with little white flowers and either brown or green foliage. She wears blue jeans and her floral Y & Z necklaces from Alex Monroe.
Back to the corduroy coat. I really liked it and I did a little search on eBay for a navy corduroy coat and by accident, managed to find the Screen accurate coat.  I knew it was the exact one because of the features but also, when I rewatched the scene above, I saw the tiny metal G of the G star reflecting for a split second in the screen. (Later on, I found out that G star items have been worn by Doctor Who characters before)
To my knowledge, no one else has identified the coat so this is its first outing as the identified coat!
The coat is called the G Star Deline coat in navy corduroy. Its retail price was £220!!!! I saw one on eBay in XS for £12.  I didn't buy it at the time as I wasn't sure whether XS would fit me and I am glad I didn't because I managed to find a S version for around £17 later on which fits well.

Here's my coat. It is quilted on the inside and is really cosy and comfortable. It became my favourite Spring coat when I acquired it earlier this year before it had to go away for late Spring and Summer.

I managed to find a H&M black floral shirt that did as good a job as any for the shirt and it has become a staple in my Autumn work wardrobe
I don't have blue jeans that are that colour but I wore the outfit with these indigo denim trousers from ASOS instead.
I added my Screen accurate Dune Pacey boots (which Yaz wears in her first series. I don't know what she wore in this scene.
When I first put together this outfit (last Saturday), I first wore my handmade Y & Z necklaces (made out of silver mirrored card) but to actually go out (we went to the theatre and saw Sweeney Todd at the Palace theatre in Southend), I wore my alternative necklace- my K & Z necklaces for Kez rather than Yaz! They are the best, cheapest alternative to her real Alex Monroe necklaces which retail at £95 each in silver) and are the Avon Lacey necklaces. I am rather fond of them!
A small detail is the silver crystal studs.  They were a Christmas present back in 2005 from my Stepdad's daughter in law!
I wore my hair up in a bun this day and it miraculously stayed up ALL DAY! Twas a miracle!

This is an outfit I like very much. Comfortable and cosy & very easy to wear for work with different trousers!

What do you think?

TARDIS Tuesday- Last Christmas

This week for TARDIS Tuesday, I thought I'd have another go at Clara Oswald's Christmas outfit from Last Christmas, the series 8 Christmas special on Doctor Who. I last attempted it in December 2018 .

Let's look at it.

And yes, I am going to be wearing nightwear on my blog! Ha!

Image borrowed from Claraoswaldcosplay.com

She wears a white full-length cotton nightgown with rosebuds on it. Over the top, she dons a pale blue cashmere dressing gown with pale blue sheepskin slippers from Ugg.

Finally, at one point in the story, she dons a khaki Topshop parka coat with a big brown fluffy hood.

Here's my version.  Please forgive the quality of the pictures.  The lighting was not great but I wanted to go with the slightly dark vibe as that is the feel of the episode (which deals a lot with the dream state)

Let's start with the basics:

This outfit has changed in two ways since I last wore it AND I straightened my hair which is the correct length for once!

I bought this white flannel nightie with pink flowers on eBay second hand after a LOT of searching. It's surprising how there just AREN'T this type of nightie available in smaller sizes. This was as close as I could get in NOT a size 20-22!
My dressing gown is actually a blue cardigan and was also bought second hand

The two updated elements from this outfit are the coat and slippers.  The coat I did wear (and still wear daily) is almost identical but has some dark extra patches on it.  This one is completely screen accurate and only cost me £3. I love the hood so much- it's the only thing that makes winter train journeys bearable.
The final element are these sheepskin bootie slippers.  These were a Christmas present to my mum from her Icelandic penpal about 20 years ago.  I 'acquired' them about 12 years ago.  Not sure how I did it but I did!

Ok, so it's not an outfit for wearing out. But it's a very comfy cosplay to be lying on the sofa wearing right now! Ha

Hope you are well.  My Christmas plans have just changed due to the hosts of our Chrismas testing positive for Covid on an LFT (waiting for PCR) but as yet, I have no idea WHAT we will be doing!  How exciting! Sigh...

Much love to you.

TARDIS Tuesday- Romana's sailor style from The Leisure Hive

I'm very excited to share my TARDIS Tuesday this week.  This is an outfit which is VERY much idiosyncratic Kezzie (check out my Sailor chic posts- all 25 of them!) and is a TARDIS Tuesday I did a simple version of this outfit here which was my restarting of TARDIS Tuesday posts back in 2017

Here's a fan video of the episode showing the outfit I've selected, worn by my favourite Classic Who companion, Romana!

I've taken the liberty of borrowing some images and pairing myself with Romana in them.

Images borrowed from

And here they are:
This is definitely a 'better' version of this outfit than last time and I'm really happy with it!
I started off with a Breton-striped top from H&M Kids.  I have numerous Breton-striped tops but this one is closest to Romana's.

My knicker bockers (if you can call them that? Cropped trousers?) are in fact, PAJAMAS!  They are from M&S and came with a navy coloured t-shirt.  I DID buy them with this outfit in mind but when I bought them in 2020, I did want some new PJs! I can't tell you how many years it took to find something resembling these trousers she wears! I was only low-key searching though...

Ah...the hat!  It's a charity shopped one bought back in 2010 or so and is the same one as last time!
I like Romana's pictures as she is usually smiling in them and she has a lovely smile- one that isn't too dissimilar to my natural smile! Unlike most of Yaz's or Clara's pictures in which they look moody and brooding.

Ah...I spoke too soon! Cue gourmless facial expression!

I remembered we had a football which we found in our garden and weren't sure where it came from so I used it as a prop. And my cycling gloves!

My sailor jacket was bought second hand from Zara and cost me £3.00 and it was the final piece in this outfit. My long sailor coat is just too tight for me now and I did so want a sailor jacket, even if it isn't the same as Romana's, it is similar enough. I added a red ribbon which came from something or other, maybe even a Christmas present.

Oh...and finally, I wore my red-sequined Toms shoes which did well as a substitute.

I did catch my neighbour looking out the window as I took photos the other day and felt HIDEOUSLY embarassed!!!

TARDIS Tuesday - Yasmin Khan from The Woman Who fell to Earth

 Hello there!

Thank you for all your kindness and support re my post on my first week back to school in lockdown. I do appreciate your understanding and things will get easier once we get used to it I am sure. I had a kind work colleague today, a young teacher in Year 4 who told me that she had been having the same uploading crises last week and she saw the way I'd uploaded the year 4 lessons today and realised it probably took me ages.  She said her fellow year 4 teachers told her how to use Google Drive and asked if I wanted her to tell me how to do it. I said, "YES please!" and she swiftly set up a Zoom meeting for us at 4pm.  She then showed me how to use it! It was SO nice to see her and we had a lovely chat via Zoom as well as her showing me. I said I was so grateful and she said that being able to help and have a chat to me had made her feel human again after a stressful day of online teaching and we both left the call feeling really cheerful. Hopefully, I can use technique she showed me to save some time when I am actually uploading.  She also told me that she'd told her children I was uploading a lesson for them and apparently the children were really excited and some of the girls told her how excited they were for my lesson and she wanted to tell me that too.  So it was nice to have a nice event like that towads the end of the working day.

Onto my post point, I am featuring an outfit worn in Doctor Who series 11's first episode featuring Jodie Whittaker's doctor. It is worn by Yaz, my new favourite companion after Clara.  Her style is less dressy and more relaxed than Clara's which suits my winter vibes though not so much my dressy, collared girly vibe.

I've put together a collage from the episode featuring Yaz's second outfit (after she changes out of her police uniform)

She wears a fluffy oatmeal-coloured teddy coat (from Zara) along with a soft, pink, wool jumper, blue jeans and some burgundy brogue Chelsea boots from Dune.  In the outside scenes, she wears burgundy leather gloves also.  One of Yaz's features is her intricate hairstyles to keep her long hair out of the way. Her hair is done in an intricate side-plait.

Here's my interpretation side by side with Yaz.

I began with the teddy coat- someone ages ago set up an Instagram showing where most of Yaz's clothes are from but I stupidly never wrote down the details or took screenshots and then they got rid of it but I did remember where this coat came from and it took a few years but I did find a second hand one for a decent price- it is SOOOO soft and fluffy and I now love wearing it whenever we go on a car journey- it's the perfect lightness but cosy.  I added an old pink cashmere jumper  it's got a couple of holes in it but it's perfect for the cold weather. Add my denim trousers and I found a black pair of Yaz's Dune brogue boots.  Serendipitously, I have wool burgundy gloves which happened to be  in the pocket so I slipped them on for the picture.

Using Yaz as style inspiration has been good for me in terms of exploring ways of styling my long hair. I am BAD at doing hair but I had an experiment with doing a side plait with the left hand side of my hair twisted and clipped round to the other side and I really liked it. My hair stayed relatively neat all day and I liked the way it looks.

I wore this outfit on Sunday and I took myself off on a walk to visit a small plant nursery that I've seen from the car window when we go out. It's a few miles away and I was toasty and cosy walking there.  It was pretty deserted but they had a few old plants for sale - I bought some kale and perpetual spinach plants from the sweet old man who was running it.  I carried the plants back in my bag as I chatted on the phone to my sister. I paid a visit to the Coop on the way home to fetch some bread and I also picked up a few good reduced items and some bits and pieces for lunch this week.

When I got home, CBC, who had been out for a cycle, beat me home and wondered where I was.
I was pleased he'd gone for a cycle as on Saturday, I'd suggested we go for a 12 mile round trip cycle to a small village near to us (it's a dead end so there isn't lots of traffic or visitors) to test out how CBC feels post Covid- so I could keep an eye on him and prevent him from pushing himself too much.  He was pleased that we had gone and it meant that we had done something different, got out the house and exercised without going near anyone and then when we came back, we played through some music together on the flute and cello. I am grateful that I can easily walk and cycle and exercise without any crowds where we live.

What do you think?

TARDIS Tuesday- Amy Pond from Vincent and the Doctor

Hi there,

Today's TARDIS Tuesday was one I attempted on March the 9th 2015- so I think 5 years is a suitable amount of time to leave it before reattempting it again!

Amy Pond Vincent episode cosplay reference | Amy pond, Amy pond outfit
Photo borrowed from this Pinterest:

Here's the inspiration. In what is frankly one of the most beautiful Doctor Who stories, the 11th Doctor and Amy Pond meet Vincent Van Gogh after seeing something sinister in the window of one of his paintings. If you want to watch it, if you are UK-based you can watch it here.

Amy wears a beautiful teal coat by Jasper Conran. Underneath it, she wears a dark red v-neck top together with a loose-weave red scarf.  On her bottom half, she wears a frankly obscenely short denim shirt and brown knee-high boots.
Hard to see, but she wears a small gold A initial necklace and a tan bronze-buckled belt which I can't see in any pictures.

And here's my version:

I have to say that when I came downstairs in this, CBC asked me, "Why are you dressed like a tart?"
Firstly, I never use language like that to describe anyone, so I demurred but I take his point that it is all a bit SHORT! If I wasn't at home in lockdown, I would have added black leggings to this to make it a bit more appropriate for going out in public.

Most of this outfit was given to me or borrowed.

Let's go through it.
The coat, for the eagle-eyed and those with good memories, is CBC's Newt Scamander coat which I wore for World Book Day 2019. Not the charity-shopped velvet jacket I wore last time which I redonated.

The jumper and skirt were both given to me back in 2014 by my Canadian work colleague when she returned home and needed to get rid of things. I do not own a denim skirt- so you get black. The jumper is the wrong shade of red. I do have a top in the right shade but the neckline is wrong. Oh well- maybe I'll wear it the next time I wear this outfit, for variety.

The scarf was one I bought for £1 in one of those cheapy clothes shops- I have it in bright green too- they were bought back in 2010 or so, so a long time ago!

The belt is one of my Mum's that I found in a drawer in my old house.
The penultimate item (except for my suitcase which once housed Sarah Nelson Grasmere Gingerbread) are my brown Italian leathers boots, bought from eYe Boutique in Romford in about 2008. The area by the zips at the side is very flaky and old now but the rest of the boots are perfect still, which is super annoying.
The final detail is the necklace. I don't have an initial necklace, but I have this gold necklace which sort of emulates an A shape so I wore that.

What do you think?

Birthday outfit

Good Evening!
Thank you for those of you that left encouraging messages on my last post. I really appreciate your thoughts. I arrived at school this morning and as I walked to the other building, my dear headteacher said, "They're coming to see you first lesson in year 1!".  As usual, OFSTED come and see me with LITTLE people, they never come to KS2- sigh!  The inspector did indeed come- for 5 minutes...
I then was told in the afternoon, that they were going to come and see me teach music to year 5 ("HURRRAH, I cried!" - FINALLY someone comes to see me with older children!!)- They didn't come. I was sorely disappointed! Please see me do what I do best where I can show what skills I have built up over the years of teaching! But no, yet again, no!! Ah well!
I don't know what judgement they make and I can't share it on here even when I do until the report is published (and then I shall have forgotten about it)

Onto the main reason for this post.  I thought I'd share an outfit.  I wore this on Sunday to go to my niece's 10th birthday tea for the family. My sister does this every year and it's the one time I see my Mum, Dad, Stepmum, Sisters together, niece, Uncle, cousin and I like it!!! Of course, it is a party so I saw it as an opportunity to wear a dress! Why wear jeans and a top to a party- boring!

OOOf, doesn't it look gloomy in the garden!!! So dour and gloomy!
I wore this pretty floral dress from Closet London which I bought from a much beloved shop that closed down near my childhood home- I have quite a few Closet dresses. They have pockets ladies and I know their dresses fit me well! I added my lovely blue leather boots purchased in Florence this Summer. Did I tell you about these?  It was a miserable rainy day in Florence, we had one umbrella between 3 of us- CBC, myself and his brother's partner went to some gardens together. We were eventually joined by his brother and we progressed to meet the rest of the family but myself and M, the partner, were dragging behind and I was glancing wistfully into a shoe shop window and M (who is a wonderful Taiwanese Economist suddenly noticed a beautiful pair of bright blue moccasins!  He gleefully exclaimed, "OOOH!" at the appearance and price and we both disappeared off inside.  He bought blue suede shoes, I bought blue leather boots! CBC and WKWTTG came in to haul as out but conceded there were excellent shoes in the shop!

The final item (apart from boring leggings which we don't need to talk about) was this wonderful black vintage mac with grey wool edging.  I bought this when shopping with Sophie and Hazel in Ipswich. We went to the Cancer Research shop where everything is £1, £2 or £3.  It's a bit hit or miss in there but as we mooched around- I saw this hanging high on a peg. I stretched up to reach up and get it down to try on. I absolutely loved it but wasn't sure if it was a bit big for me especially as its label said Size 14.
Sophie and Hazel both told me it looked lovely and I had to get it- so I did! For £3, why not! It's definitely vintage but there's no indication of the brand.
So, what do you think of this outfit?  Last time I wore this dress on the blog was before 2015! Shocking it hasn't been shared since!

So... you want to see Frinton on sea????

Yesterday, after I shared my Frinton on Sea post, a few of you said it sounded like a nice place to visit and Ang referred to Walton on the Naze which is nearby and pleasant.

Today, I decided I would like to look at my archive to republish a post after Gretchen Joanna commented on a couple of old posts. It's quite nice to visit a few old favouites, esp for anyone that didn't read the post originally.

Bizarrely, when I  clicked randomly on my side bar, the post that came up was one entitled, "Fabulous Frinton on Sea!" How utterly strange is that? And no, I don't think it's some sort of cookie, it really is serendipity!

Therefore, here is a reblog of my post here from Tuesday October 30th, 2010 (almost the exact same day!) of my visit to Frinton-on-sea

The fabulous Richard Lester performing at Boxted Parish church. Cellist extraordinaire! I met him once before when he borrowed a cello from the Academy when I worked there- he's really nice
Autumn sunshine on Boxted church- beautiful!
We headed down to the seafront at Frinton where the light was perfect, the air wonderful and all was restful
It was such a beautiful beautiful day.  It was totally a spur of the moment thing to come to Frinton- we dashed out of the house to make the concert and didn't think about post-midday!
My last birthday Cape  keeping me warm! I love that CBC chose this himself!
There is a fabulous array of  beach-huts at Frinton. I've never been inside one- have you?
The sea-spray was pretty fierce as we wandered.  It made me think of that gorgeous John Masefield poem, Seafever, verse 2:
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide

Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;

And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,

And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

Sourced fromhttp://allpoetry.com/poem/8495913-Sea_Fever-by-John_Masefield

It did make me laugh as I found this Spike Milligan version when searching:

I must go down to the sea again,
to the lonely sea and the sky
I left my shoes and socks there -
I wonder if they're dry?

Notice a familiar bystander in CBC's photo...
Who then backs away in alarm at the monster wave.  What happened next?
Quite possibly the coolest beachhuts ever here!  One appears to have been decorated by Emma Bridgewater and the other?
Which do you prefer: spots or stripes?

CBC took this (and most of the other) picture- check out all those wind turbines! Essex is doing its bit for renewable energy? Rather serendipitous that I was coincidentally wearing a sailor-cardie for an impromptu sea-side sojourn!
I could have walked on for miles...

Frinton is a lovely seaside retreat in Essex.  Have you been?
