Joy in all the things! (10 things to be thankful for)

A lovely girl on Instagram, MillieMakes reminded me of this.  Joy comes from actively looking at things you are blessed in.  Thanking God for all the good things in my life. I think I have been speaking very negatively about the actions and behaviours of those I teach and it doesn't help.  Yes, venting is needed but it doesn't make the situation any better. Whereas seeking the good DOES help.

Here are some things that gave me joy.

1.  Getting out into the garden on Thursday night after being cross at the actions of a child (not towards me but anger at someone else's situation).  I got right into our bamboo and spent over an hour grabbing at Bind Weed, Ivy and Brambles and freeing the Bamboo from their tyranny. Alas, the job will always be there as we cannot get onto the railway line at the back of our garden to really vanquish the beggars but at least I can try.  I felt restored when I came in. And, I only got bitten once by a horsefly rather than the usual 12 times.

2.  A gorgeous weekend in Aldeburgh with CBC and my Mother-in-Law. It was a beautiful time in so many ways.

3.  Finding an Indian vintage skirt like Vix's! Well, similar anyway!

4. Having containers just the right sizes to house all the left-over food we had in Saxmundham tonight after we were too stuffed to eat the majority of our main courses!

5. How enthusiastic the kids all sang at the Lion King rehearsal on Thursday.  Having given up my PPA time to run this rehearsal for the guy who is running the show, it made it more worth it!

6.  Having an observation lesson on Friday that I KNEW went really well without a doubt. I haven't had feedback yet but I was happy with it. And it being observed by someone who understands music!

7.  COURGETTES in the garden!!!!

8. Have been eating our own Rocket this week! I don't care if CBC says Rocket grows like a weed, I am PROUD of my first attempt.

9.  On that subject, during our Listening Walk at the Snape Maltings marshes, I noticed and found a patch of Wild rocket growing and was brave enough to pick and eat a bit to prove to myself that my foraging skills were on point!

10.  Finally germinated an Bean plant after the first lot went wrong!

11. Have some lovely nights sleep in our Aldeburgh cottage despite the road resurfacing going on our road and epic steamroller action till 1am.  Past 1am, I slept like a log!

What are you thankful for?
