The colours are there if nothing else

Two weeks in Inspiration Monday with the Two birds where I shuffle my feet and try to pretend that I am wearing something similar to the inspiration model.  She's called Jennifer Laurence- no, I've not heard of her.  I actually have several long white skirts and a grey t-shirt but I wasn't feeling it today.  Instead, I have the colours.IM Monday.  Pity I forgot to swap my handbag to my basket bag that Sophie bought me

Broderie anglaise dress- Next via Oxfam.
Cardigan- Oasis
Shoes- Primark.
Daisy hairpins- Poppydaisy

How nice it is to have a Bank Holiday (and NO Year 6- HURRAH!).  What have you done with yours?   I've not done a huge amount so far- at CBC's house.
We've had a fairly chilled weekend- a swing-dance lesson on Saturday morning - I am officially rubbish but I still love it!  We learnt how to do the transition from a lindy-turn to backwards/tandem charleston and how to get out of it again which was cool though lots of time still spent on our basic technique!  We then headed to town to look for some brogues for CBC and I ended up buying my mum a birthday present I hope she likes- it's very useful!  Saturday later on, we wrote our wedding invitations and did some dance practice!!!  So exciting and fun to have sent invitations- we're pleased with how they've turned out!!!
Yesterday,  I had a lovely church service which had a good sermon that I had a really good point I remembered well, based on the book of Ezra and how things go well if the hand of God is with us and why his hand might not be with us.

After hand-delivering some invitations, I headed over to CBC's where we went for a lovely walk and got on with some work things.

If anyone is in London and fancies something cultural, come to my orchestra concert- it's a gorgeous programme of:
Debussy- L'apres midi d'un faun (gorgeous big famous flute solo for moi!)
Ravel- Mother Goose suite and Piano concert (more nice flute)
Rautavaara- Canctus Arcticus - Concerto for birds and orchestra (more nice flutes and hilarious recorded bird song!)

It's at St Peter's Church, Kensington Park road, Nottinghill Gate on 11/5/2013 at 7.30pm. Wine in the interval.  You could go shopping on Portobello road and then come along! Tickets are £10!

Sunny outfits are us!

Ahhhh, the lovely Emmy Rossum!!! She's soooooooo pretty (and has a marvellous voice- LOVE her rendition of Christine Daae in Phantom! Even if it was supposed to be Anne Hathaway originally!) .  She's the inspiration with the Two birds

Alas, I don't have cutesy sleeveless white blouse nor yellow floral skirt so here's the Kezzie interpretation since despite the sunshine, it's still pretty cold! (I also wore a black cardie, not pictured!).
I must admit, I feel most myself when dressed up in a skirt with flowers on- definitely my idiosyncratic outfit, if you can describe it like that!

(Skirt and daisy-headband Primark, top- H&M thrifted, shoes- Red or Dead, earrings- French market, Cross necklace- random, turned up in my bedroom when I lived in London 10 years ago!)

Has anyone been watching The Syndicate at all?  I've been watching it on i-player after we watched it with WOMOTM and it's super!!!!  I'm looking forward to catching up on tonight's episode tomorrow!! I also caught up on Doctor Who which is fab- I adore Clara!!!!! It was BRILLIANT to see an old-foe of the Doctor in the form of the Ice-warriors, although I wish there had been more than one!!!  Oh if only the yeti could come back!!!

xx

Hope you had a lovely weekend!  I did.  CBC and I had a lovely sunny Saturday with park walks, tea and cake and then went to Braintree Freeport and found him a lovely Jaegar suit for our wedding at 60% off!

Supergirl!

Supergirl

That's what he called me.  All.  Day.

I get it, I do!
I had to do the pose otherwise he refused to take the shots.  He also wanted an ironing board shot! I flatly refused! I am willing, not stupid!
Super collage

I found the dress in a charity-shop yesterday when looking for shoes in my local town.

Teamed with Miss Simmonds swap beret and belt from other dress with Primark cardigan and ruby-slipper Toms, Topshop necklace and Cath Kidston earrings.

Another awesome day.  We went to the vicarage to fill in wedding forms (hard to believe we will be getting wed in just over 4 months!) and then headed off for a private lindy lesson with Simon which went well, lots more basic improvement. We then went to an East Coast swing dance social lesson out in Essex which was brilliant as I picked up loads and loads of moves which I then remembered and was able to do with lots of people!  It was so much fun!

Thank you for all your kind comments and compliments! I do hope you are all well!xx

I have to send a huge thanks to Char who managed to track down a pair of size 8 wedding shoes for me in Taunton. Now just have to find someone that could pick them up for me!

Is it too late for Visible Monday Patty? I stood out a mile today in this ensemble!!!x

Ter Kwoise

Inspiration Monday 1-4-2013
Allessanda Ambrosio - she was destined to be something with a name like that! Er- who is she?
Dunno who but love her dress!  She is the muse for this week's Inspiration Monday with the Two Birds, Megan and Nora!

I woke up FAaar too late this morning but managed to cobble this together for church (doing this on Easter Sunday instead as am at my fiance's so no choice tomorrow!)

Alas, you cannot see that I added a daisy floral crown to my handmade knitted beret to add a little Easter bonnetage (as has Miss Simmonds but you can see hers and it is MIGHTY cool to put it mildly!)

No funky beige boots or bag that resembles a large unkempt guineapig/tribble but grey tights and gunmetal shoes!  Alas, no detail shots of floral crown, vintage floral hat brooch or turquoise arm-party due to CBC being in a total strop at having to take a photo when he was in a hurry.  I left my camera locked in school over the Easter holiday so I am at CBC's mercy as to whether he will take any photos for me!

Doggie day care

We had a great fun and unexpected afternoon.  After church which was fun and slightly different (and long!) we drove over to CBC's where his friend from Uni drove down from the peaks to come and see us.  She brought her two lovely rough collies with her who were as good as gold (and like lions!)
We headed out to a nearby village for a walk in the woods and then had a slap up Sunday lunch in the Hoop pub, sharing a table with a random couple, one of whom had the same name as one of the dogs which was hilarious!!! I had an amazing Steak and ale pie and stacks of veg, except that I discovered it was Steak and mushroom (why not tell us!!!?!!), so I picked those out!
We headed back to the house where one of the dogs tried out various millinery including my floral crown!!!
Dog in a panama?  Come to my house!
