TARDIS Tuesday- vaguely Christmassy?

Hello and a happy new year to you!
For TARDIS Tuesday, I thought it was time to start the Jumper cosplays!   These are mainly worn by Yaz Khan who is the only really practically dressed Who character (though her choice of coats/jackets could do with a little less leather) There's one I have worn 3 times and not photographed so I had to make a special effort to get this one snapped!
I last wore it here in December 2023.

It features an orange Mint Velvet jumper, an All Saints leather jacket, black skinny jeans and grey trainers.

Here's my Sunday morning version:

I like this starry jumper- it has some cashmere in it and is very cosy.  The usual Clara Oswald alt jacket makes its regular appearance.  This time, I am wearing my black, baggier Seasalt trousers- they are very comfy.  Finally, I wore my Clarks Funny Dream grey shoes.  They are comfy and I liked the way the red laces ALMOST match my jumper!  The outfit is one that would work for school and indeed, I have worn it quite a few times for school.

I hope your new year goes well! I HOPE I don't go to bed too late like I usually do- it throws out of my sleep pattern for days! Grateful we don't go back to school till the 6th!xx

TARDIS Tuesday - Genesis of the Daleks Sarah Jane Smith

Greetings Earthlings!

Hope you are well!

This week for TARDIS Tuesday, I am returning to an outfit worn by Classic Who companion in Dalek origin story. I last wore this for a TT post in July 2021.  Not sure why I wore such a wintery outfit in the Summer, but there you are!

Let's take a look at the original

And here's my version:

I wore this for church on Sunday as well as school on Monday.
Was a great cold day outfit.

The only item bought for the cosplay was the jumper which is originally from Matalan (but found on eBay for mere pounds). I saw other ones with better colour matches but this one was most similar to the pattern. Finding the original would be nigh on impossible. One of my Insta friends actually made her own one- she drafted a pattern for knitting it and knitted it. It was amazing!  She shared an image of the pattern! I was amazed she worked this out by herself!
You can see her wearing it here:

Since the last time I wore this outfit, the only differences are that I wore my Clarks desert boots with red socks instead of my red spotty wellies and wore a different woolly hat!

Everything in the outfit is secondhand except my Seasalt raincoat (bought in Totnes!) and my hat which was handknitted by my Godmother.

What do you think of the original outfit.

I like it very much but I also like my copy!

TARDIS Tuesday - Yaz Khan from the Ghost Monument

Good evening!  Greetings from a very tired me on the penultimate day of term.  I needed a quick outfit for TARDIS Tuesday and I realised I had the perfect outfit which could be interpreted as Christmas jumper outfit...sort of!

I last wore this outfit on the blog in November 2020 (and first in January 2020)- I have worn this outfit outside of the blog but not shared online.  It was worn by Yasmin Khan in her second episode, The Ghost Monument.

It's a standard Yasmkin Khan outfit- leather jacket, jumper, jeans and trainers.  Her jumper is from Mint Velvet and her jacket from All Saints.

Here's today's  version.   For the first time since I last wore this, I can actually find my orange jumper! I originally had a red one but bought an orange one but it kept hiding when I wanted to wear it for a photo. It's a bit bigger but is warm and comfy.
The rest of the outfit is not particularly interesting- I wore black trousers and boots, rather than trousers and jeans so it worked for school.
My trusty River Island leather jacket to the rescue again!

Had a really funny thing happen today.  We had an online Zoom assembly which I had to have with my year 1 class last lesson.  At the end, everyone left and I hadn't managed to press the Leave button.  Suddenly, our teacher said, "Hello, are you still here? Shall I continue my story?".

He then proceeded to tell us a story about a little boy in his house who tries porridge and chairs and gets visited by Red Riding Hood, a Wolf, 3 pigs.  Just as it got exciting, he had to go.

It was so surreal and funny and I have no idea why it happened but it was brilliant!

CBC's carol service went really well last night! I was super proud of him!

TARDIS Tuesday - The elusive Yaz Khan jumper from Kerblam!

Hi there,

Greetings from a tired individual!

For TARDIS Tuesday, I am looking at an outfit I have used as inspiration 2 times already but here's my hat trick. I last considered this outfit here in April 2022, so quite recently.

It was worn by Yasmin Khan in Series 11 episode, Kerblam.

It features her ubiquitous All Saints leather jacket and black skinny jeans.  She wears grey trainers (possibly Reebok) and a coral scalloped jumper by House of Frazer label, Maison De Nimes.

Here's my most accurate rendition to date:

Whilst Yaz has not achieved the cosplay popularity of previous companions Clara and Amy, this outfit of hers, namely the jumper, has become an item which is incredibly difficult to locate.

Last time I considered this outfit, I wore alternative jumpers but I was luckily enough to find the screen accurate jumper (for £5 inc postage!) on Vinted in January.    I haven't seen anyone else with the actual jumper. I also found it in a pale blue alternative colour. I like its cute scalloped hem and it fits very well.

Do you recognise 3 elements from my past few weeks of TARDIS Tuesday outfits?

The much-used ASOS black trousers

The black Ash Bowie trainers

The bargain fake leather jacket!

My choir are going to perform this Thursday. I'm quite sad that now they've had their Albert Hall experience that suddenly the commitment is gone and lots 'can't make it'.  I'm thankful for those and their parents who do understand commitment. It seems to be an attribute in shorter supply these days.

Hope you are having a good day!

TARDIS Tuesday - Robots of Sherwood- Clara's tartan cute look

Hi,

Welcome to another TARDIS Tuesday! Today, I'm featuring an outfit worn by Clara in series 8 of Doctor Who.

I have featured this outfit twice before: in May 2019 and earlier in September 2017

It's not changed hugely but I have made a slight alteration.

https://claraoswaldcosplay.dreamconnect.de/?p=586

Sadly, we didn't get to see the outfit for very long, nor in daylight which is a shame since it is SUPER cute!

It featured a teal Oasis jumper and a Topshop purple and teal skort (that's a picture of shorts and skirt). She wears black tights and I THINK she wears her Bertie Astor wingtip heel shoes.

And here's my 2022 iteration!

I started with the same Topshop skort I've worn each time (it's screen accurate). It's really short but cute.
I teamed it up with an alternative Oasis jumper which has a leather collar. This jumper originally had a floral colour and a fake shirt bottom but the wonderful Ang adapted it for me. She even managed to turn the floral collar into lining for another Clara dress so not to waste it!
Today, I decided to wear a different pair of Clara shoes- these are my Bertie heels rather than my black suedette boots I wore last time.
I can't work out where I got this leather collar from but it is not the one I usually wear.
I wore this on Sunday for an orchestra rehearsal.  The skort IS short but I do like how well this outfit goes together. The whole thing really needs an iron but that's not going to happen!

I have not worn this outfit for school for obvious reasons but I hope Clara didn't- too short!

Hope you had a good day!

TARDIS Tuesday- Yaz Khan in Kerblam, version 2

TARDIS Tuesday is back after a 2 week hiatus.  It features an outfit I wore to school the week before the Easter holidays (just didn't get around to posting it).  It features my favourite new Who companion, Yasmin Khan in an episode called Kerblam. I last featured it back in October 2020

https://thedoctorwhocompanion.com/2018/11/05/doctor-who-series-11-titles-and-synopses-for-episodes-7-and-8/

Yaz wears her ubiquitous leather jacket (brown this time) along with a corally/reddy ribbed jumper with a scalloped hem (apparently from Maison de Nimes.  She dons an orange Hi-viz waistcoat for when she works in the Kerblam warehouse. On her bottom half she dons skinny black jeans and then dark grey trainers with white soles.

Here's how I interpreted the look this time:

I started with a red, ribbed, scalloped hem jumper.  Mine was from New Look (2nd hand) rather than the screen accurate jumper but I very much like this jumper (as did some work colleagues!)  It's a really nice fit and feel.  Yes, my black trousers made another comeback (they are getting a bit snug- nooo!) .
I decided to wear my Clara Oswald black Ash wedge trainers as they are most similar to Yaz's trainers and my Clara brown leather jacket, again, as my most similar jacket to Yaz's.  I had the brainwave to borrow one of the children's orange Hi-Viz vests from the school trip box to don for this outfit though it's a bit small- annoyingly, the next day, I spied the Assistant Head's Fire warden waistcoat on the back of her chair- totally could have borrowed that next time!

My hair was better last time I wore this outfit- it was longer and I seemed to achieve a more similar hair-style but never mind!

Hope you are well!

TARDIS Tuesday - Sarah Jane Smith in The Sontaran Experiment and Genesis of the Daleks

I thought I'd go with a Classic Who cosplay/dress up this week after a modern Clara outfit for the last post.

The outfit I am choosing is from Sarah Jane Smith, companion of both the 3rd and 4th Doctors, featuring with the 10th Doctor AND with her own spin-offs.
I've featured her 5 times before but the last time she was featured, VIX was the one wearing her outfit

In these two consecutive episodes, The Sontaran Experiment and fan-favourite Genesis of the Daleks, Sarah Jane wears an outfit featuring:

Yellow hooded raincoat

Grey/blue beanie hat

Grey jumper with diamond sort of pattern

Blue knee-length culottes/skirt

Tights

Red boots

This is mainly a closet cosplay except for the jumper, e.g. I didn't look for/choose/buy anything special for the outfit, just riffled through my wardrobe for similar items.

Let's start with the jumper.
I know someone that has a knitting pattern of sorts for the actual jumper who shared it with me but I don't have the knitting skills for it.  She knitted her own one and it looks superb!
I found this jumper on eBay for £3.00 after searching for 'Fairisle grey jumper'   The shade of grey and the pattern aren't that exact (THIS jumper I found is better but it is £15 secondhand which is too much)

I nicked this beanie jumper out of CBC's raincoat pocket whilst he was out cycling .
My raincoat is from Seasalt and I've had it many years now! It's because of this raincoat that dressing up of this iteration of Sarah Jane has been on my To Do list for years.

I do have culottes but not in blue so I wore my charity-shopped Dorothy Perkins denim skirt instead.

I do have red boots but I figured that my red polka dot Primark wellies would be more fun to wear with this outfit.

I cannot tell you how many times I retook this pose for the photo as I kept checking back. Everytime SOMETHING was wrong, one hand in the wrong place, looking the wrong way, skirt too high or low, raincoat hanging off the arm too much, covering the jumper too much.
I had to keep hauling myself up off the patio and then throwing myself down and trying to get into position during the 10-second timer!
Did you see that I attempted a fake fringe?  Gave up in the end as it kept flicking up!

Hope that all is well with you!
