What is it? #69 It's a cloud!!!

Hello there!

Welcome to another edition of 'What is it?', the blogpost that demands your examining of your imagination to see a different image beyond the one presented.  Where a cloud is not just a cloud, a potato is not just a potato and a pattern on a curtain is something else!

This week, we are back to the old perennial favourite, the humble cloud! In the cloud below, I saw something OTHER than just the cloud scape that was photographed.  But what was it I saw?  What do you see?  Animal, human, mineral, famous character, a scene from a famous film?  Who knows?
Do leave a comment saying what you see?  I encourage you to look at the shapes WITHIN the cloud and the outlines if you are stuck!

What about last time?
The lesser known Potato Seal or King Edward Sloth...
These potatoes reminded me very much of a Sloth or a seal! I saw both, depending on how I felt. A seal with its head to the left OR a sloth sleeping with its head down. They look sad, whichever one it is?  Maybe it has stomach pains??

What did the illustrious commenters see?

8 comments:

  1. Hi, Kezzie! I definitely could see the fish in the tree. The potatoes are harder! I'm seeing a baby whale on its side in the front potato.

  2. I see something with small head and a rather large belly laying on its side. It looks like perhaps the thing is rather sad... Or maybe it ate too much and has a belly ache, hahaha.

  6. Is it a seal? I worry that I'm not very good at using my imagination sweetie xxx

  7. The front potato looks like a fat baby seal to me. But if I look at it the other way round it's a hippo.

  8. sorry, I got nothing.

Two seals were sighted (and YES, Anna, you ARE good at this!!) by our commenters, Bev and Anna, A hippo from Bev too and a Whale from FundyBlue too. All of these animal are rather large grey/brown-looking creatures who don't always move lots.  Julia saw the small face of the creature too and the fact it was sad and I LOVE Sophie's Speech bubble- yes, it definitely is!!! Don't worry Ivana, thanks for commenting anyway, I appreciate you trying! And apologies to the 'Follow for follow' commenter who 'loves' everything. The way to my heart and a potential follow is ACTUALLY engaging with the blog post and telling me what you see in the image. Come back and comment properly on this post and maybe I'll give you a follow!!! :-)

Do share what you saw!

What is it? #37

Good Morning/Evening/Day (depending on your time zone and time of perusing),
I hope you are all well and having a fine and bonny time.  I am in the midst of a stinking cold which I do think is rather rotten considering I am only 4 weeks into term.  Not content with evil throat/acid reflux, the Cold monster had to hunt me down! Oh well, I hope I lose it soon!  Thanks for your great and fun comments- I enjoyed your amusement at Blink and the brooch appreciation was much er-appreciated!

Today, I thought it was time for a bit more cloud spotting and I bring you a cloud courtesy of the skies above Burnham-on-Crouch one August early evening!

I spotted this cloud and it immediately suggested some other image other than cloud to me.
If you see something other than a cloud, then please do leave me a comment below saying what you saw! It's always good fun to see what you say!

Let's have a look at last week's offering:

CBC spotted this one and his opening comment was "Look, there's an eagle cloud right in front of us!" to which I replied, "Oh yes, it's like an aeroplane too!"

What did you think?

  1. It's so amazing that you and I can see the same things in the clouds so often. It doesn't surprise me to see faces in the clouds as I see faces everywhere.

In the new pink cloud I see something that resemble a soaring eagle. He's not perfectly formed but the wings are pretty defined right down to the feathers.
I just love playing this little cloud game.

I hope that your week goes smoothly at school. I'm sure the kids are delighted to have you back.
    Hugs,
    JB

  5. I see a plane, flying a bit too close to the ground if you ask me!!

  6. I see a jet flying to the left. I'm sure that's not what the pilot would say, "Turn left, will ya John?"

  7. A plane for sure.

Hurrah!!! Yep, that's unanimous agreement from the 13 commenters above- eagle/big bird or aviation craft of one type or another(apart from someone who er- apparently saw ME in an outfit!!!! ;-) I'm suspecting maybe the wrong comment box was clicked on!?

So, please let me know what you think this cloud is!

xx

P.S.

If you love What is this? then do go and visit the lovely Bevchen at Confuzzledom who is doing "Guess the Christmas crossword 2015" which is even more hilarious than What is it? The suggestions of people so far as to what it is are downright brilliant!!! She's done it for a few years so I'm delighted to discover it as I get to do some imaginative guessing too! DO go and have a guess

What is it? #36

Today's 'What is it?' is courtesy of CBC who usually pooh-poohs my car-based cloud spotting (Usually because I blog sideview mirrors when I lean forward to take a shot)

We have cloud from Oxfordshire skies which is looking rather like something else in my humble opinion!

What is it?
What is it to you?
WHat does it resemble?

Leave a comment below as to what you think!

And what about last time?

I saw this cloud as the head of a man- he's facing to the right and he has great, dark bushy eyebrows and he's eyeballing something off screen to the right. He has a large hook-nose, slight facial hair and a small, disapproving-looking mouth which is enunciated by flared nostils! He's bald on top but has a few locks of dark hair hanging down towards the back of his neck! He reminds me of a cartoon William Shakespeare profile!

What about you? What did you all think?
  1. It's somebody riding a motorbike.
    ReplyDelete
  2. It looks like an octopus to me, even if the legs aren't clear.
Thank you for your lovely comment :)
    ReplyDelete
  3. It looks like a man chasing a pig, arms outstretched just about to grab it!
    ReplyDelete
  4. In the top photo I see a face with bushy eyebrows, eyes, a big and oversize long curved nose with flaring nostrils, a mouth and receding chin with a pointy beard that is blowing upward in the wind.
The top of the head is rather flat and he's missing the back of his head.
    Hugs,
    JB

  5. I am so clueless today, but as crazy as I must be, I see a yellow monster without much shape (and how can I see colors!) with two eyes and kind of a Muppet mouth holding a feather-duster, can it be??? Impressive even to my strange mind!

  6. I'm pretty sure it's Dumbo.

  7. Oh no I hope I did not break the rules! I rolled doubles so I get to go again. Do we put money in Free Parking or not. So confused! :) But not confused about the cloud, a duck flying left.
    ReplyDelete
  8. It's a man on a motorcycle.
    ReplyDelete
  9. I see a lamb leaping out of a field of snow.
    ReplyDelete
  10. I see a crounching wizard chasing a turtle.
    ReplyDelete
Ooooh, I do see a lot of these suggestions when I look closely, particularly the man on the motorbike, but how funny Julia, you saw almost identically to me, in detail too!

Great ideas! I love seeing your imaginations in action!

So as to this week, let us know what you think!

#What is it? #33

It's been a little while since I posted a 'What is it?' . Summer is the best time for spotting interesting skyscapes and today's comes courtesy of Newton-on-the-Sea, Northumberland.

Take a look at the picture above. What does it resemble other than a cloud? What image do you see in the picture?  In the spirit of good fun, please leave a comment with what you see and I love comparing what people see!

What about the last time?

It's really been a while, the last official What is it? was back in May and I shared the follllowing image:

I saw this as a ferocious dragon's head- he's squinting and is very angry with his teeth bared.

What did you see?

12 comments:

  1. The first cloud resembles an eagle...or on closer inspection it could also be a dragon.

the second one looks like a face, but maybe it is just because I read it reminds you of it...thinking about it a bit more, it reminds me of Transformers or Iron man's helmet
    ReplyDelete
  2. The first one looks like nothing distinctive to me. I looked at it far too long and my first thought was hammerhead shark, so I'll go with that!
    ReplyDelete
  3. A hungry dragon that saw something yummy :)
    ReplyDelete
  4. This time round it looks, to me, like a genie lamp or a helicopter.

I really enjoy it when people show their silly side through their blog.

  5. Oh Kezzie - I know you love your clouds, but honestly, I can't see much! I don't comment because all I would say every time is "err, I don't really know... Is it a sheep?" And that would get pretty boring... I think seeing things in clouds is like being able to see those hidden image optical illusion thingies - you can either do it, or you can't. And I can't! xxx

  6. Thank you for being honest Curtise! I just wanted to know what people thought of it and that is a valuable opinion that I wanted to know!x
    ReplyDelete
  7. A bird flying to the left with a whale swimming downwards behind it, humpback I think from the sound of it. I vote for reason #3. Oh wait, are we voting?

As for your question on the length of the tights, I have been finding them almost just the right fit. The could be just a smidge longer but for my purposes they work just fine. I do not actually wear them around, if I did it might be an issue :)

  8. hi Kezzie! It is nice to see you too! Thanks for the warm welcome back. ♥renae

  9. I don't see anything very clear, but to me it looks like someone flying through the air with their arms stretched out to their sides. Maybe with a jet pack on their back.
    ...that makes me sound crazy!

  10. I kind of see a bird flying to the left...but I'm trying too hard. I love your idea to engage people's imaginations through looking for things in the clouds. Usually when I see something in real life it's so fleeting and surprising, an Aha! moment. If I don't join here consistently it's because my imagination has failed me. Gaaa!

  11. I think I actually do love comments more than crisps... I KNOW. Not spam comments, obviously. Crisps are wayyyyyyyyy better than spam comments.
    ReplyDelete
  12. It reminds me of Emu but in the second one it reminds me of a giant paw x
    ReplyDelete
Lots of dragons but also bird references. On a side-note, I really don't mind if people can't see anything! Imaginative lot!

I also shared this photo as part of the last Scavenger Hunt:

This cloud reminded me of that Moomin character, the little girl with the bun in her hair who was always a bit snarky: here she is: apparently, that's Little My. She's facing sideways in the clouds.

Anyway, I'd love to know what you think this week's cloud is?
