Fungi #6

Here's some more Fungi I spied on my recent walks.  As ever, if you can spot something you can ID, do let me know.

I've currently set my heart on finding some Red Elf Cap fungus as I've seeen a lot on Insta.  Hopefully, when the snow goes, I might find some!

These ones look particularly grisly.  Great lichen too!

These are maybe Wood Ears?

This looks a bit like a Turkey Fantail although the colours are very limited so I am not sure.

Some great Lichen again as well as an interesting coral-like fungus.

More of those fantail-type ones again.

Found another clump of Jelly Ears.

This Lichen is so bright and crispy-looking!
I love the different varieties here. Almost resembles something aquatic.

Have you spotted any interesting fungus lately?

Sadly no CBC subtitles on these ones.

  1. Hello Kezzie, I jumped with excitement when I saw you had a new Fungi Post!!! Great finds! After a couple of failed attempts, we spotted the all illusive Scarlet Elf Cup last week. When accidentally stood on, they look like hearts -

  2. I have a beautiful photo on my bedroom wall of some scarlet elf cups that somebody else took...I would so love to see some for myself. There's a green one too apparently. Arilx

  3. Some good finds Kezzie. So glad you've been able to get out, take a walk and look for fungi. The lichen is something I always notice as I like looking at trees. I can only dream of taking a walk at the moment. Have a good weekend.

  10. I had to Google Red Elf Cup, I hope you find some. It's very pretty.
I love lichen, I used to think it was damaging to trees and plants but Monty Don reliably informed me (through the medium of TV obviously) that's it's harmless, so now I welcome it. It does have an aquatic feel.
